    Oh honey! Matt love my full solar inverter batteries! No need for the Jackery! Power off alternator off engine is awesome! Love my double sink! Oh yes. The gas heater is so nice! Heats up my van so quick! No propane! Induction stove top is the best! Black tank is easy to empty and does not smell in the van. Just keep it easy simple and relax!!! ❤️🏳️‍🌈❤️🏳️‍🌈☀️😎

      I plan on getting solar next year, I've become sold on the idea. Charge is a headache otherwise.

    I lived off grid in central Virginia for five years. I had solar and batteries for my phone, radio, etc. I had no sink and it wasn't a problem for me. I "did dishes" like they do in a Zen Monastery, doing the final wash with a vinegar and water solution that I drank. I had a luggable loo type of thing. SUPER simple! Since I was fairly stationary, I found a few kind of hidden dumpsters to dump my loo stuff as well as my garbage.

    Glad to see you're still putting out vids. I'm especially glad you mentioned your heating system. I purchased the same through Rixen's and your install vid was more than helpful! Thanks for an update and keep living the dream! P.s. i paused the vid at the end (as I'm outside) wondering if an ice cream truck was near by! Haha 😅

    Coming from a 8ish year old "solar generator" to a new Bluetti, the charging wattage has jumped up significantly. Many parks have electrical outlets at pavilions you can charge to over 80% in 40 minutes. Been using a luggable loo with a splash of RV holding tank chems, otherwise you can tie off fresh bags after use. Been thinking about a thetford cassette toilet but depending on your local, bags are easier to dispose of than dumping a tank.

    great , simple list. any advice on what wattage of battery I would need to keep a 12 volt fridge, cell phone, fan running??

    • @undertheradarvan
      @undertheradarvan  3 месяца назад +3

      Cell phone = 2amps while charging. Fan = 1amp while running, fridge = 7a while in chilldown phase then steady 2a after that. That’s 120W at 12V if running all three at the same time. A Jackery 1000 would last about 8-10 hrs.

    Mt waccusttes a fun place had good music festivals there back in seventies i had a ford van back then. before all the gadgets they have to day, built it out with sink and marine batteries that was about it. boondocking was a different level but many did it, much easier in many ways not crowded. camaraderie was way higher. immediately circle the vans with strangers and let the weekend begin.

    Just picked up a jackery 1000 and 2 solar saga 100's for 799 on Amazon's prime day. I already own a 240 and 300 with their 60 and 100 solar panels, so sticking with the older models let's me hot swap power sources while staying within their power draw limitations. Also, I love the Skinny Puppy shirt... Just saw ministry myself.

    Question regarding the alternator charging:
    Did you use the CCP connection located on the back left side of the driver seat base or did you plug directly into your battery terminals?
    Ford Transits come with (1) 60A fused Customer Connection Points (CCP) as standard and up to 3x 60A may be fitted depending on vehicle configuration.

    • @undertheradarvan
      @undertheradarvan  3 месяца назад +1

      I originally used the CCP on the chair with a 30A dc-dc but it destroyed my alternator and that fuse never blew. Now I bypass the CCP and use a 40A fuse.
