It's beyond me why people got so much anger for something that doesn't cost them a dime and it's free to watch, carry on with the Bricklin cause I'll be watching, Merry Christmas Dani and Dan. 🎅
Real car guys see the Bricklin for what it is; it's odd, it's unusual, it's different, it's a cool car. All the internet haters share several things; they think the Corolla S in their driveway is a sports car, they think a Honda Accord is a cool car, and none of them have busted a knuckle open while working on anything and had to use a paper towel and electrical tape as a bandaid. Don't change a thing Dan.
I've seen the Bricklin's when they came out new and saw people driving them around, it was a badass two-seat sports car, the same motor they were putting in the Italian sports cars. it predates the DeLorean probably inspired it , it's competition was a Nissan 240Z triumph TR4 with the 351 Cleveland it could out handle and smoke any z-car, that car was made in Canada it probably has a 351 Windsor ,that would be my logic I don't know, the Clevelands 302- 351 were known to have oiling problems at high RPM's I've had a LTD that had a 351 C 71 maverick302 Cleveland for my 69 Cougar eliminator clone, never had any problems ,drove the hell out of both of them
Back in the late 70s I had a Hot wheels of the Bric and thought it was an incredibly advanced and cool design. Its Canada's answer to the Vette and Pantara with gull wing doors. All I see is unique challenges and opportunities to put a sweet ride on the road. Thanks for all the great shows.
I'm waiting for parts on three different projects.... and of course the parts I need to continue are the furthest out for expected delivery....I don't know how you manage to keep videos cranked out, let alone in chronological order....I think most people get it... and those that are genuinely complaining probably still have a Huffy bike, with a slipped chain, sitting on the work bench in mom's basement... The Brik is a nice change of pace... love the tri fives, but the Cobra.. the kit cars even the Opel... all were interesting.... keep up the good work yall
I love the speech you gave. At the end was the cherry on top: "Or ill stop working on it because i cant handle the comments cuz im sensitive". Keep up the great work. Yall are super motivational.
The Canadian Pantra, just remember that, it means you got the same engine as the Pantra, so just do the work on the motor and tyranny and you got a sweat ass hotrod!
Bricklin is a classic example of what happens when government gets involved in running a business. They were forced to employ people who were only interested in getting enough hours on their cards to collect an unemployment cheque. It’s a fascinating piece of Canadian and automotive history.
I may never own a Bricklin - but I’m digging the Bricklin content wherever it may lead. Put a fan clutch on it and fab a proper radiator fan shroud and it should run cool unless there is some engine issue. I’m sure there is a Bricklin owners club that could help you with ideas of how to improve it and fix the problem areas.
Dan,keep up the good work doing what makes you happy, the rest will fall into place.I’m 74 years old,got my first car at 12 years old a 1946 Ford. I’m still wrenching on them ,right now a 1955 Thunderbird for my wife.
Hey Guys, first time leaving a message on this or the other channel. Great job. Drive what ya like. I daily a 20 SS Camaro here in central Ontario. My older stuff is away for the winter. My next daily will be an old(probably an 80’s Cutlass). The SS has over 200,000km now. It’s cool driving the oldies
The idea of fixing up a weird old car, and hopefully making it better than it was is pretty cool to me. Probably the interesting things you get involved with are what makes your channel so entertaining. Screw the haters. Most of them said the said the same thing about the black nomad, and it turned out incredible.
This car was built by proud people who had a dream. Even if it failed, it was a success. These kind of things are what makes this world a better place! Just my .02.
Hello Dan, when I bought my 1965 Bonneville convertible, everybody was making fun of my car calling it every big name in the book but in my eyes I think it’s the most beautiful car ever made. You do what makes you happy and you can’t please everybody I enjoy your show, keep it up merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and Danielle
I'm actually looking forward to the Bricklin build, those doors are such a mess, I want to see what it takes to make them look and work like they're supposed to, good luck, I'll be watching...
Primary answer to "Why the Brick?" is cause I wanted to. FULL STOP. Or I felt like it. Your garage, your money, your work and your decisions! Keep on being you. Thanks for the content.
I think it's absolutely awesome that you two read ,,,,all the comments! Even the stupid comments! You two will survive just fine with the Brick. videos. Just a plethora of judgemental people that probably don't even a car as old as 1995! Anywhos thanks for the awesome content D&D and give those huge beautiful dogs some treats.

Who gives a F what the guy at the stop light thinks? My Grandfather once told me if everyone liked the same thing, everyone would be after Granny!! You do you. Put the plow on it and really piss em off.. Just my .02
Hot Roding is not about what everyone else thinks is cool, it’s what you think is cool. I’m a Pontiac guy. I’ve had some weird combinations alike a 74 ford courier truck with a 455 Pontiac engine. Dual quads sticking out of the hood, 250 shot of nitrous, radiator mounted in the bed. Truck didn’t hook for shit and was absolutely useless as a drag vehicle or a truck, but it turned heads wherever it went!
Dan love your channel, we don’t hate you. My post was for humor sorry you removed it, have thicker skin dude, I know it is not a POS. I love all cars. One time many years ago I hot rodded an old French Citroën my friend gave me for free. He bought a house surrounded by cars and had no clue what he had. I came over to dig up trees and I was in awe of the cars. I said if you ever sell any of the cars I call first dibs. He said sure thing. The next time I went there he only had a few left, all the good ones were gone. He gave them away and forgot to call me. So he said pick any of these cars and take it for free, sorry. I picked the Citroen because it was so strange and rust free. I dropped in a souped up 350 and 350 tranny and a 10 bolt rear that came with them in a deal. Then I customized the entire body so it went from this tall weird almost a camper trailer looking body to this scary looking exotic sports car using the parts that came on the body. So many people asked why with my talents wasn’t I working on a high end car making serious money on it like you do? What a foreign abomination of a car, what a POS, never knew a car body and style so ugly, I mean everyone. I even got in an argument with my wife about it one night. She said get rid of it, I don’t care if it was free, that is a POS if I ever saw one and it will cost a fortune to restore it. I just said honey I am not going to restore it, yes it looks like a POS but I see a dragster looking thing coming out of it, when I am done with this it will make money or I will trade it. So I customize and paint it for $400.00 in paint costs at the time. The weird tail lights now make it look exotic and mean, the whole thing was cool, custom hood scoop for functional ram air, dual antenna in the back were my trademarks. It was dangerously fast, the car was light as a feather. So I tell wife I am driving it to the end of the driveway, we had a long one. I park it at the end with a for sale sign. I turn around walking back when I hear a car slam on its brakes. What I see is an old bull nose Ford truck and now it is wheel hopping trying to stop fast in a brake set up to strong for the build. They back up and drive in. The driver asks me, is that car for sale yours and I said yes and it is yours if you pile me up some cash. The guy driving said well that is the coolest car I have ever seen in my life I want to buy it, how much? I thought, well I have just about a thousand in this in materials. I had a week in it at 160 an hour with about 80 hours at 12 an hour. So if sell it for 3000 I break even but suffer a loss in billable hours but if I sell it for 6000 I am getting close, 7000 is good enough to unload it. It looks cool, I know it and he knows it. I give him a price that would drop your mouth open. He stuck his hand out the window we shook hands and he said you got a deal. So we go to the car, He runs to town to his bank, delivers me a pile of cash, I sign the title over, they take off in it, I walk back in the house and announce I sold the Citroen. Wife calls bs and I tell her what happened. She was beyond shocked, dumbfounded disbelief. You really have made it, you are really good at hot rodding and car building, we have made it baby. I took all that crap, all that grief, all the insults from every form of relative, friend, stranger, you name it and that sale was my top sale for quite a few years as far as high dollar amount. Long story Dan, just wanted to say, you can make that in to something, I know you can, we have faith in you. It belongs in Canada, we love Canada. Good luck with the project. Don’t ever let someone tell you what to do, they are your cars and you do what you want. Way to go.
I love the deep dive of tri fives on your channel. The Bricklin is a good change up. I have learned a lot about them from your videos. Ignore the haters, be true to yourself and do what you like and keep the camera going. BTW, love when Dani opens your videos.....she is great. Love ya Dani.
I dunno about a guy who immediately trades out a stock GM dizzy for an HEI. They have NOS condensers and points for a reason LOL! Nice of you to stop by Kyle's Live Stream (Carter Auto Restyling) yesterday. Happy Holidays! 😎
The show "Chop Cut Rebuild" did a Bricklin series and interviewed Herb Grasse the designer. Their goal was to make it function as intended. Great series and fabulous car. Remember it was the 70's. They were built in New Brunswick, Canada with government backing. The gov. just wanted jobs, automotive expertise were reluctant to relocate to N.B., and the workers were completely out of their element. A few years later John Delorean tried a similar venture in Northern Ireland with similar results. I don't think it was a coincidence. Although poorly built I'd love to have one.
Ignore them. I love your videos and the basics you've taught are great. Keep them coming just the way they are. I love you try anything and do it with a GREAT ATTITUDE.
I honestly admire the fact that you have to live up to safety standards, I hope you never lose that mind thought. And it is your guys channel live your life Man. No explanations needed.
One man’s junk, is another man’s treasure. Not my first choice, but I watch you guys for the content and the way you get things done. How many cars do your haters put together in a years time
I gotta Love how you guys deal with the Dumbsh*ts... And Yup, it's Canada... We get Snow and Rain... And I drive my Cars, when I want to go somewhere (I have a '72 Nova)... And Great Point, that "Many" vehicles you see in America, would Never Be Allowed on Our Roads, 'Cuz Somebody's Gonna Die... Keep up the Great Work... ❤ You Guys... Allan, from British Columbia....
Could be worse, I was tearing apart one of my Hotrods and the 16 year old kid next door started crying. Saying Im gonna destroy it. Lol… everybody is a critic…
I love the reality of what you do. I do it everyday and I appreciate that you guys aren't so damn sensitive that you cry about the a-holes who only watch video's and don't build shit
I was watching vice grip & Derek said something that was interesting. He said don’t let people tell you what to do with your rigs. It’s your money & you can do what you want with it! I’m not a fan of bricklins but it’s yours & you can do what you want with it! I can’t stand haters, they need to go to the dark web with all the other losers who have nothing better to do than try to ruin somebody’s day. I love to watch what you do because it’s entertaining, keep up the good work. What happened to the challenger? You are truly the hot rod Jesus & may your “miracles” continue!!🇫🇮🇺🇸
It's quite clear that some 🤡s just don't get it or you. Anybody can hack up a car, it takes a certain skill level to hack it up correctly, if that makes any sense at all. I love it not everybody has deep pockets. Heck, I put a supercharged sbc in a 1950 Ford farmtruck with the original patina. Funnest thing ever.
you should do the whole back to the brooklin smoke door opens kind of thing. chrome suit is up to you.f with all of us and give it a plow. never mind its not metal. any thing gullwing is cool. thank you for the up and coming shows. remember i cut up a perfectly good jag and put parts of it under an opel rally. so any thing goes for me.
The car has a great profile, it should get a mild build to a LS 5.3 cam & supercharger or turbo. My vote for drive train is a 2000 or up Corvette transaxle 6 speed stick. Grafted into the current rear frame. Weight balance and reliable. I have a spare torque tube for the manual trans, you can have it. With a 5.3. Cam, huffer and transaxle you could do anything to it after that and it would be an epic build and driver. Dennis in Virginia
I like the Bricklin. I'm old enough to remember when it came out. Dan is right. It needs to be judged in the context of 1975. And love your more schmoo channel Dani!
I say good job preserving a little bit on Canadian Automotive History. I grew up in Minnesota and I remember when the DeLorean was in the news, my Dad told me about the Bricklin. He had never seen one and I had never seen one until watching Vice Grip Garage. I can understand your dads Protection for it. Save it for your dad!
Everyone should be happy. It has parts from GM,Ford,Jeep and AMC therefore UNIVERSAL appeal! Plus don’t forget-Gull Wing Doors
The Everymans Car!
It's got so many parts from other things it could be called The bionic car.
i for one think it's very cool.
@@moreschmoo what happened to the rotten banana lol I must’ve missed it
@@rayt.randolph110 didn't film it! Put it in storage for a bit to make some room!

I really like these segments of dan talking back to the comments. please make them a semi regular thing.
They are a lot of fun!
The brick is a oddity car nothing wrong with that. save the old rig and bonus points for hookin the old man up. You are a good kid Dan
I appreciate that you guys have thick skin with the public.

The brickland is the RODNEY DANGERFIELD of cars. Funny lookin and a joy to laugh at
The Bricklin is a rare part of history. I would love to own one
This car is absolutely underrated. Haters are the dolts who couldn't fix f all. It is iconic and pure legend. Unbelievable

Piss off the chevy nuts by stuffing the drive train from the bricklin in to a tri-5.
You guys are so fun. Your channel is my favorite channel. The Bricklin cool. I get motivated to do stuff on my own cars. Keep on keepin’ on!
Thanks dude!
Real car guys get it.Dan you keep moving along and having fun.
Let’s be honest. I like the cars that you work on. Especially the Nomads but I watch the channel mostly for the personalities 👍👍👍
The great thing with the Bricklan is when you get bored with it, leave in Mur's driveway for the winter.
totally enjoy watching your channel and looking forward to this build . something different for a change and a new adventure . rock on

Personally the Bricklin is a refreshing change of pace. Different is good in this case.
Just keep doing what you do,i live 70 miles north of dallas and love the show.
When the Bricklin came out they would travel around and give demos of it's features, one was on the body coating where they had a branding iron of the name Bricklin, they heated it up and melted it into the body, then sanded it and polished it, I think you should make DD speed shop brand, maybe test it on an old bathtub first, I bet there are dam few people know about this.
It is a cool piece of history, the only difference in the car is the sheet metal or fiberglass covering it. Save it for all to see.

I still don't like the car but I love the content that you bring to us. It's still good that you're saving the Pug 😁
The Bricklin is like the odd cousin nobody wants to sit with at the family reunion! Lol
But they still get invited!

I like that you change up what you're working on. Do what works for you and don't get burned out
I like seeing this car again! I watched Derick with it fun seeing what your going to do with it!!
I love that car, I wish I had a Bricklin
Can always get a bathtub refinish kit to fill in the cracks
i actually love the 56 wagon, would love to own that car…
I love the deep dive of tri fives on your channel.
The Bricklin is a good change up. I have learned a lot about them from your videos.
Ignore the haters, be true to yourself and do what you like and keep the camera going.
BTW, love when Dani opens your videos.....she is great. Love ya Dani.
Hmmm...a Bricklin with fiberglass 57 Chevy quarters might be interesting. The look on Mur's face would be priceless!!
I absolutely love the Bricklin, and as I said it’s one of my dream cars
D & D, When you get tired of the Brick, you should buy Derick's green '78 Corvette for a fiberglass encore. LOL.
Ha ha I think we learned our lesson!
The Bricklin is cool in the same way a Pontiac Fiero is cool, it's a car that probably shouldn't exist, but does anyway. I dig the weird orphan cars!
DD speed shop is my favorite channel. Dan's humor and his work keeps it interesting. Don't change a thing🙏👍💯
I honestly don’t understand why Dan gets any hate. I absolutely love the channel and you two are my absolute favorite RUclips couple!!
I sure think he's pretty neat!
Crank comments just mean we love you Dan!😆 Have a Coke and a smile --I'm having one with you while watching this!
I like the idea that maybe turn the Bircklin into a snow plane or put skis on it and mount a propeller engine on the back 😂🍻
The brick will be Dan's longest play list ever... Because Dan loves play lists.
I dunno about a guy who immediately trades out a stock GM dizzy for an HEI. They have NOS condensers and points for a reason LOL!
Nice of you to stop by Kyle's Live Stream (Carter Auto Restyling) yesterday. Happy Holidays! 😎
Don't pay attention to those folks can't wait to see more on the car keep it up!!
Love the Brickland ! great project Car Frank from Brooks ,Alberta . with a few mod's it could be a fast little Hot Rod !! and drive like a go-cart !

VERY well said guys . I get it . Keep being you , and I'll be following !

I really enjoy your channel. Great job. 👍
Well all I got to say is, don't listen to negative people, and do what ever makes you happy!!
People hide their ignorance behind criticism!
Could be worse, I was tearing apart one of my Hotrods and the 16 year old kid next door started crying. Saying Im gonna destroy it. Lol… everybody is a critic…
Good cam, a set of GT40 heads , 4barrel and some headers. It may not be the most powerful but it sure would wake it up.
That "Queen Glitter Chaos" is really pretty clever.
Gotta just build what you like, its your car!
Keep on keepen on Dan!
Look at that nice shirt Dan is wearing! No, not the crappy rainbow colored flannel. The one underneath it.
He wears it well!
I like the strangeness the car is, and I know it is a very good representation of some of the weirdness of the 70's.
Love the channel because of dan and dani, don't care what car is being worked on.
I saw the episode where Mortski put all the stickers on that car. I laughed my butt off. I like the Bricklin, hope you have fun with it.
