      Honestly ap classes aren’t worth it unless your really interested in the subject/you absolutely HAVE to take it. the AP Exam is not worth all the stress. Before high school I expected to take 4+ ap classes my senior year but that quickly changed as I’m taking ap world history this year and now I only want to take two or three ( ap calculus and environmental science) this year has already been so stressful and sleep depriving and I’m only taking one ap class. I quickly learned that you don’t have to be in 5 ap classes to be considered smart

      11) Do homework until 1:00 (or all night if it is really bad or if there is a test the next day)

      3)Take a shower, get out no later than 6:20
      4)Get ready 7:15
      5)Leave 7:20
      6)Bored to death during Health (because I was an idiot and didn't take it freshman/sophomore) or cry internally in French (Or, because block schedule alternates my classes daily)
      7)Extreme notetaking in APUSH or having fun in AP Physics, because physics is easy.
      8)Lonely lunch
      9)Fumble around in Engineering or cry during AP lang
      10)Scramble my brain in an attempt to communicate like a normal human in AVID or thoroughly enjoy pre-cal
      11) Get home, procrastinate for 5 hours
      12) Panic, start doing homework with the graveness of a man about to die
      13) Sleep at 11:30... or later
      14) Rinse and repeat.
      My schedule next year will be largely the same but with 2x AP classes.

    Students are getting absolutely too overworked these days. Teachers act like they're class is the only fucking class kids have work for the whole day. Eventually, they're not going to have the desire to go to college anymore because they'll be so tired of all the work they got in high school.

      I know this comment is 3 months old, but I still have to agree 100% with you. Schools think that they have to keep raising the bar so much so that students start losing the desire to learn.
      Just a couple of weeks ago I just about pulled an all night-er finishing up my history hw -- 40 vocab words with three sentence explanations each, a synthesis essay, guided readings for a whole chapter, and a couple DBQs due in matter of two weeks (not to mention additional assignments and mini-projects the same teacher gave out during that time, and the fact that I'm just talking about an honors class). I would've chipped away at the work earlier, but unfortunately teachers really do think that you only have one class and do nothing else the whole day.
      I wouldn't even dare call that teaching.

    The sad thing is that this is pretty much how it is. You can’t win in top tier classes. There’s two things up for being sacrificed. Your title or your health. I personally plan on sacrificing my title. I won’t let school get in the way of the things that matter anymore. What good is an Ivy League college if you completely lose sight of who you are, your health, and the people around you? It isn’t any good.

    • @maxjones2008
      @maxjones2008 10 лет назад

      In Louisville, Catholic High schools just graduate a few weeks earlier than public schools. Seniors had a set graduation day of May 18th, and the last week of AP exams and regular senior exams happen on the same week. Just kind of how things are run here. Public schools and Catholic grade schools don't get out until the first week of June or the last week of May

    • @maxjones2008

      We had a bunch of snow days for it being 10 below zero the entire first week back in January. The Seniors only had to make up one day because of the set schedule. Plus, we get out for the Kentucky Derby and Oaks Day, along with Spring Break, so they wouldn't dare touch those days. Good luck though, hang in there and keep your focus. I definitely don't regret holding focus through exams and tests.

It's usually Rhetorical Analysis essays and it's not as bad as some may think. You just need to be a quick thinker cause we get 40 mins for each so you have to be able to recognize forms of speech, different structures, the writer's thesis, etc.

      AP classes depend on the teacher you get and how they teach the class. My school is really good with APs and for harder classes they break it up into a class that teaches the foundations and then the second semester they focus on building concepts and labs and it helps spread out homework and makes everything really manageable and people usually make much higher exam scores. But if you get a class with a bad teacher that teaches out of a textbook run for your life.

      Avery Benson I disagree, I had 6 AP classes as a junior(Chem, Lang, Calc AB, APUSH, Computer Science, Physcology) and had only like an hour or two of hw per day since I don't procrastinate, Also I passed each AP Test with at least a 4. Was it more work than other kids, sure, but this is unbelievably exaggerated. Sleep, Good Grades, Social life, you can have all three in high school. It's not like we're in college as Engineering majors. I mean there's sports and clubs too, but I know many people who have 3+ AP and play a sport too. Also you don't have to get an A+ in every class either, unless you think not getting into Princeton is the end of the world. Maybe it's just the Souther California school system, but AP Classes are bitching.
      Final thing: UC Berkeley( Or for those outside of Cali "Cal") represent.

    You are a junior, and that is the hardest year. When you take these many APs, you are going to feel stressed out because you also have to worry about SAT, ACT, etc. When you take these many APs senior year, there is nothing else to worry about (except college applications). You have a lot more time to do more AP classes senior year than junior year.

    My APUSH textbook is thicker than yours, and me being the only sophomore in a room of juniors/seniors makes the whole class awkward...

    Is it sad how accurate this is? I only took 3 APs last year and it felt pretty much like this

  • @mistyeyes101

    I'm taking 6 APs as well--AP Calc AB, AP Lang, AP Chem, APUSH, AP Music Theory, and AP Environmental. Oh, and I'm taking Piano 3, am on the Debate Team, and in the Beta Club. And I have a talent show audition today. R.I.P.

      ***** Not really. It's just a lot of work, but I'm used to it by now. Definitely no room for procrastinating though.

    No, you just got to get used to it. I took 1 AP class (AP Human) in Freshman year and got a 5 on the exam. I took AP Spanish and AP World in 10th grade, both of them 5's. AP Calculus BC, APUSH, AP Spanish, and AP Chemistry in Junior. Three 5's and one 4. I'm going to be taking AP Statistics, AP European History, AP Biology, AP Spanish and AP French in Senior. In all 3 years before I still finished my homework by around 9:30 and was able to watch and hour of anime before I went to bed. During April and May I watched an hour of Game of Thrones before I went to bed. AP classes aren't too hard, you just gotta keep up with the pace

    Am I the only one here that isn't taking a single ap course and I'm incredibly overworked by the work I get in my regular classes?

    • @yujinj2903
      @yujinj2903 7 лет назад +16

      Regulars is a joke, way too easy and theres almost little to no homework.

    • @jaydenrise7186
      @jaydenrise7186 7 лет назад

      Well, I think it's pretty difficult; at least in my school I think it is. Also my regular classes issue roughly 30-60 minutes of homework per day.

      Jayden Rise AP classes are 1 to even 3 hours of homework for a SINGLE AP class. How is 30 minutes to 1 hour of homework rigorous or hard?

    • @jaydenrise7186
      @jaydenrise7186 7 лет назад

      Yujin J It takes the average person 30-60 minutes to do the homework, but it takes me about 3 or more hours to figure it out. Forgot to put that in the comment.
