  • To get the best from your Brinsea Ovation 28 or 56 incubator, your incubator should be cleaned immediately after your hatch is complete. As incubators are warm and wet they are ideal breeding grounds for bacteria and if they have been left with debris from the last hatch they will harbour germs which are highly likely to damage your next hatch. To remove the screws from your incubator you will need a Pozidriv PZ1tip screwdriver.
Disconnect the incubator from the mains power supply during cleaning. Ensure that all electrical parts are kept dry.
After removing any old shells, fluff and dirt, it is best to soak non-electrical parts like egg trays in a disinfectant solution for an hour before scrubbing clean. Do not use the dishwasher!
Clean around heaters and fans with a brush or slightly damp cloth using the same disinfectant solution.
Be very careful not to let water get near any electrical parts including motors, heaters and control housings.
Use Brinsea Incubation Disinfectant which is both powerful and safe and has been specially formulated to kill bacteria and fungi associated with birds and is available online from www.brinsea.co.uk (code 14.35).
Leave the incubator parts to dry thoroughly. If they are properly clean they should no longer have a strong odour. If stored wet corrosion can damage circuit boards and other components.
We recommend running the incubator dry for 24 - 48 hours to ensure all parts dry out thoroughly. Please note that corroded parts are not covered under the guarantee.
Don't forget to clean any extra parts or equipment you used too.
Once completely dry, store these items in a protective carton or box in a cool dry location where it won't get jostled or knocked over. We do not recommend storing in a shed or outdoor building.
Don’t forget to order any spare parts or consumables - order any parts needed for your next season, such as evaporating papers, silicon tubing for humidity pumps, more disinfectant: www.brinsea.co.uk/accessories-consumables-spare-parts

I can hardly wait until we are able to scrape together the money to buy one. We plan to buy the Ovation 56 EX as soon as we can.

The EX takes all of the guess work out of hatching, it's a great machine. We'd love to see some photos of your hatches once you get it. Kind regards, Brinsea.

This is a great machine. Have used the 28EX since two years. Always more than 24 eggs hatching out of 28.
The cleaning process of the top cover takes some time with the screws. Well worth it as the hatch result is so good. But in fact i think the design of top cover could be designed better to make it easier to clean.
But overall a great machine well worth the money.

What about cleaning the base, what is the procedure for that?

    • @BrinseaProductsLtd
      @BrinseaProductsLtd  Год назад +1

The incubator base, water pan covers, egg carriers and carrier link parts may all be washed
in warm soapy water before wiping with incubator disinfectant solution and then rinsing.
Ensure all parts are completely dry before storage, failure to do so may result in damage
that will not be covered under your guarantee

This is a great machine and it have hatched several chickens in my case.. However. It sucks bigtime mostly because with age the screws that hold the inside gets rusted and impossible to open up. I have 2 machines i can't use because of this and theres no way to get them operational. The machine also get very dirty after a hatch so a cleaning routine has to be done. I hope you guys can make it better at some point so its easier to open.

Would be a lot better if a system not requiring repeated removal and replacement of screws in plastic. Not a matter of if rather when the plastic fill fail.
