  • Trying A New Incubator Work To Hatch These RARE Eggs! Brinsea sent us this incubator to do a review over. So far the setup was a breeze and super easy. It has an automatic thermostat and a turner built in. Its made of all plastic so it should be very easy to clean and sanitize.

    Hi folks from the UK... KEVIN I’ve hatched all kinds of eggs over a lot of years. I’ve used brinsea equipment and they’re very reliable. The eggs do not hatch in those turning cradles. When it’s lock down time the eggs Are taken from them and just laid on they’re side on the bottom of the incubator. They may do a hatch tray for that purpose.. you could give them a call and ask .. I always used a separate incubator as a Hatcher like the other one you have, that way your new machine will stay in pristine condition.. hope you don’t mind me adding my 2 cents worth !!..good luck

    We hatch off mallard and blue swedish ducks. I have some ready to hatch off on March 5th. It takes 30 days for ducks. I am going to hatch off some chickens after the ducks, then I will hatch off our goose eggs. We have 2 types of geese. Our goats have already kidded so now it's egg time.

    Love the incubator, looks lots better than the polystyrene ones, I need to upgrade some of mine. I hatched lots of turkey eggs last year, looking forward to seeing yours hatch. I usually keep humidity 30-45 until lockdown then up to 60-65 for last 3 days. I’ve had amazing hatch rates.

    Ive had a few Little Giants I rigged up w fans that I used for several years. For Xmas my hubby got me a 56 egg Brinsea similar to yours but I havent used it yet. Keep hearing horror stories from people I know, on how the fans will die..mid incubation. We have Isabel Cuckoo and Lavender English Orps, several Marans varieties, and a bunch of other breeds. I usually have a broody or two and they are the best incubators lol.

    So, my plan that I have had for a couple years or so now has coop build/purchase/setup this summer and to get laying hens early next year. Now I am starting to think I may need to up that timeframe. I can't decide. We are in town so I must only have hens. No roosters allowed so hatching really just wouldn't work for us, but buying sexed birds or even poults is the best option I think. Your thoughts?

    • @HiddenHeightsFarm
      @HiddenHeightsFarm  4 года назад +1

      You can always hatch a larger number of eggs. Whatever roosters you get just butcher them. They won't crow until they're about 5-6 months old anyways.
