Next, from Aesop ‘s fables to Mrs Tiggy- Winkle, hedgehogs are one of Britain’s best-loved wild animals. But a recent study by Nottingham Trent University found the UK hedgehog population has dropped by ninety-seven per cent since the middle of the twentieth century. Now experts are using GPS tracking to find out more about the lives of these much-loved but mysterious mammals. Anna Wilkinson reports.
