This is exactly what I needed. My Chrysler 300 was starting late. I switched out that starter relay, and "voila" that problem disappeared. I have you as my go to man for my Chrysler 300! Thank-you.
Awesome! Glad to see it was something as simple as that relay. Alot of people spend alot of money replacing a lot of items just to fix this with out checking the basics. Thanks for commenting and for making me that "go-to guy" lol. Make sure to subscribe if you havent already.
Hi 👋 am glad you fix your problem with you car ! can you tell me what exactly was the issue you had ? Cause my charger some times starts normal then it takes like 2.or 3 seconds to Start then it can start normal again I don't if it could be the relay or other thing. Thanks
You have no idea how much frustration this has saved me from. For two years my Charger has bounced from mechanic to mechanic without anyone figuring this out so I checked the relays and low and behold the car started right up and my wiper stopped working. You are a godsend thank you so much!!!!
Awesome man! Thanks for deciding to search online and for finding my video. Glad it worked out and ended up being something simple in the end. Appreciate the comment and make sure to subscribe John.
@@MotorCityMechanic Hey 👋 i have a question i have a 2010 charger 3.5 poice package but the fue.relay you show in the video is different it has ony 4 pins not 5 and is gray colour .. i tried to find it on. Google but no luck yet
You the MAN!! THANK YOU!! I was shopping for starters and selinoids online for my son's 2008 300 touring, when I came across this video. Went out, swapped relays...BOOM!! Cranked right up!! So, thank you again for saving me about $250 and an hour of my sanity! Lol.
Another easy fix......you just dont know how many people out there dont know of this simple fix and instead replace alot of parts. Thanks for finding the video and for watching. Appreciate you watching and make sure to subscribe
Thank you too much!! I did as you mentioned in the video and my car turned on right away! I then drove to AutoZone and replaced the bad relay!! You saved me from replacing the WIM and saved me a lot of money, I owe you a case of beer!!!
+Ralph Diaz Thats awesome Ralph. It's always cool to hear about the videos helping others. Appreciate you taking the time to let me know how it turned out. Make sure to subscribe and I'm always game for free beer! Lol
Thank you so much for this video ! We've been broke down for days about to put it in the shop for a new starter and my husband clicked on your video . Fixed our 08 dodge magnum
2008 chrysler 300 and it had the same problem delay upon starting.. thought ignition switch . Swapped the relay and that solve the problem. Thank you. Your info help a lot.
Awesome! Glad that you were able to find my video! Glad that it was a simple fix. Make sure to subscribe and check out my other videos as well because you never know what you might need the info in them.
great job !!! the video saved me money its guys like you the world needs more of .again thank you i get to pick up my girl and my car starts like nothing was never wrong .

Thank You MotorCity. I was about to dump cash on a new starter, when I checked RUclips to see if there were any issues or items I had to remove to get to it, when I found this video. Had a faulty FOB first, but had a backup. With FOB issue out of the way, tried the relay swap, as advised. Bingo! On the money. Six straight perfect starts in a row. Glad I found this video. Cheers!
Awesome! Glad to see someone else had the same issue. I havent gotten alot of comments about viewers finding the same problem but I know that they are out there as you noticed. Thanks for the info and the feedback. Glad to see that the video helped. Now make sure to subscribe and share the videos with others.
Well the good thing about changing parts that it doesn't need it that you will not have to worried about a new Started again in case you would've changed haha
Thank you for the video. I spent around $1000 on my 2010 Dodge Charger (which didn't fix the issue) and it could've been a simple starter relay. Well I guess you learn as you go.
Thanks for finding the channel. You never know....it could have been the issue. I have seen it fix at least about 2 dozen vehicles over the years. Make sure to subscribe and next time you have issues.....check out my other videos and contact me as well.
Awesome.....thats the only relay that we have issues with and only the starter. Same relay on other items as you saw but when its being used for the starter....thats when I see issues. Otherwise replacing the relay takes care of it and havent seen it happen twice on the same vehicle yet. Thanks for watching and for the comment! Make sure to subscribe
Hello MCM. I had the same problem. Replaced the relay and it worked for about a day and the problem returned. Switched the relays around and it fixed the problem for about two starts and then the problem returned. The car starts perfectly with the remote start always but not with the key. I'm stumped!
These are great videos and I learn a lot from them, but these cars are something of a mystery when it comes to the electronics as Chrysler/Dodge and Mopar have made them too complex to find problems. I've had my car in the shop for almost 3 days now due to Fuse 15 blowing on my 2006 Chrysler 300 SRT8 for no apparent reason. It will crank, but as it is cranking, it blows the fuse. I replace it, and it blows it again. Even the techs at the Chrysler shop can't figure it out. I'm about ready to drop the entire engine and go old school, replacing it with a 350 small block, carburetor and cap/rotor configuration, and do away with all electronics. No more key faub for me. Just a basic key to start the engine. I'm getting tired of having to spend thousands of dollars trying to figure out what is wrong with the car when it has nothing to do with anything mechanical. :-)
Marcus Harikian hi there I totally agree with you, I purchased a 2007 Dodge Magnum 3.5l sxt and I am having a issue with no crank and I can’t figure it out I’ve had a tech come out and reprogram and make a new key and still it won’t crank
I have been having this problem with my 08 charger, had it towed to a shop then was told it was the ignition switch and had to take it to the dealer, took it to the dealership and they changed the ignition switch that had a recall, still not fixed. the dealership said it is the engine wiring harness and dodge no longer makes it so I have to order it online and they will charge $1000 for labor. so I am excited to try this today.
Awesome....glad to see it went well. Thanks for trying the steps in the video and for taking the time to let me know the out come. Make sure to subscribe
Mine would be different. The relays on my 08 are not the same. The fuse box and layout is an exact match. Completely. But my starter relay is a different part number from the 2 wiper motor relays. I'm not going to try switching them. Plus mine started everytime just now. Didn't have the issue this round.
Love your videos, I have a 58 custom royal (with the push button tranny)that I love, and have had 82 024 turbo, 85 caravan(with the horrible 2.6mitsubishi engine)90 turbo shadow, 94 grand caravan, 2002 grand caravan es,2003 srt4 and put over 400,000 kms on those vehicles, and now have a journey r/t into my second year on it, all the cars were really trouble free except for routine things like brakes and tires, they all had original exhausts when I gave them away to neighbourhood kids, Im not sure why everyone laughs when I say I love mopars, but I seem to be the one laughing to the bank, take care and keep up the great videos.
+Moo Cow You said one of my favorites.....the srt4! Love that little car.....quick as hell. I hope you didn't give that one to a neighborhood kid lol. I know cars will have problems....but for the most part I still rather have a Chrysler product. I do have a 2007 Mustang convertible but that's because Chrysler didn't make a convertible with any balls lol I didn't want the PT and I didn't what the sebring. One was too small and one was to "gated community" for me. I wanted something fast and sounding sweet. Otherwise everything else I have is a Chrysler product and I slowly have won my family members over as well. Thanks for the comment and make sure to subscribe if you haven't already.
been subscribed for ages, I have had other cars as well, 64 mercury park lane with 352 and 2 four barrel carbs and the breezeway window(still have it), 78 honda civic which I had three engines replaced in 1 year, all under warranty got rid of that!) a 79 toyota corolla that the head went when the timing belt snapped, it was an interference engine, the chrysler 2.2 and 2.5 of that era were non interference if the timing belt snapped no damage,a 77 pinto which looked great as could be with the all glass hatchback, wanted to put a 302 in it, but it really disintegrated into the ground(rust). Also had a 75 cutlass and a 68 cutlass the 68 scared the bejeesus out of me had the rocket 350 but standard drum brakes and standard steering. I still have the srt4 it is solar yellow of course with the matching yellow dash, I did however put the wing on that came on the normal s/x I didnt like the high wing.got rid of the badges and made it a bit of a sleeper. Have you seen the dodge turbo minivan(using the turbo 1 vnt engine) on youtube, love it.keep up with your videos love them.maybe I will finally get a ram truck next!
Moo Cow Glad to hear that you still have the SRT4 and yeah....I agree on the rear wing. I love how its like a little rocket when you press the gas pedal. Always on my favorite list. Most have been butchered with 30 different mods and this here and that there. I love it just stock. Thanks again for keeping up with the channel and watching all the videos!
Your welcome. Glad to see that this was the same issue you were having. Appreciate you for finding and for watching the video. Make sure to check out my other videos and thank for subscribing.
Great vid. I'm seeing the same problem with a 2002 dodge ram 1500 4x4. The transmission is auto. No start/no crank was intermittent, but when we bypassed the ignition switch, the truck started right up. I'm gonna check the fuses and starter relay
2011 Dodge charger rt, started do this about about week ago, on the first backup it good, but the next time blackout. I have check the wiring harness and the radio, all have good connection
I havent found one common issue. Usually I start with making sure the radio software level is correct and if need be....download the latest version to make sure no software related issues. Also the radio has a menu on it where you can turn the camera off so make sure its turned on and that something didnt happen to cause it to be turned off accidentally but being that it works sometimes and other times not....I doubt this will be a cause. There is a test of the camera not working.....its mainly testing from power and ground as well as a couple other circuits. There is no actual test for the camera other then a known good part. If the wiring checks okay then the steps requests camera replacement. Then of course if still having issues.....possible radio.
My dodge nitro 08 starts evertime but I need to move right away otherwise it stalls or stalls at the 1st stop. I changed the PCM, all sensor and coil. Still no change. Also doesn't shift smoothly
There is no simple thing I can tell you to check. It requires duplicating and monitoring the data with a scanner to see if anything obvious is showing up.
Hi David I have a 2012 chrysler 300 when I press the push start button to turn the car off it don’t turn off I need to remove the engine module from the fuse box then the car turns off happens once in a while but now it happened two days in a row
I havent come across that as of yet. I wonder if the switch is acting up. It would take monitoring the data when its happening to try to pinpoint the cause and to see if the switch state is changing when the button is depressed. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.
I have a 2006 Chrysler 300 touring. The other day the vehicle stall and shut off. I turn the vehicle and was able to drive though rough idling and it would turn off. I ended up changing the camshaft and crankshaft. I also went ahead and cleaned the throttle and change the air filter. The vehicle turns on but shuts off. Only when I put my foot on the gas and Rpm is high it stays on. When I realized the gas it stays on for a few seconds and it turns off. Not sure at this point what it may be. I did change the fuel pumps about six month ago and the vehicle has been running find. Not sure what the issue is.
Its too early to say what it might be.....there are alot of things that need to be checked. The first is to have the system scanned for codes.....not with a basic code reader but with a higher end scanner that can access all the modules. If no codes then monitoring the data in certain modules can tell us as well what the cause could be.
2011dodge charger rt, hada very distinctive Click right before ignition, started just fine but never made such aloud click. I was able to catcha video, it did not do it again, is that solenoid or relay??
Thats hard to say without checking it out in person. It could be either but will need to be checked while its acting up to be 100% sure. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe.
David this is BUD I'm having a problem with my 04 dodge ram 1500 5.7lhemi 4x4 I have replaced the throttle body 3 times, map sensor, wiring harness, BUT I'M STILL GETTING THAT RED LIGHTNING SIGNAL AND NO THROTTLE IN MY PETAL WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND
Thanks for the video. 2010 dodge charger sxt 3.5l. My fuse box is exactly the same but when I pulled relay it only has 4 prongs not 5. Might someone replaced with wrong relay? Was starting but slow crank then quit starting. Turn ignition and only get slight click. Thank you
My 2006 Dodge Charger SE won’t start. I have a solid red light on the dash. I have changed the starter, ETC, PCM, alternator, battery and starter relay. I’ve even taken it to the dealership and they can’t tell me what’s wrong smh! The did get it to start claiming that it was the starter relay but it shut down on me a few weeks after I got it back from them. I need help! I am frustrated and my car has been sitting for about a year and a half. I would appreciate any help I can get. I’ve spent a lot of money on this car so far replacing the catalytic converters, major tune ups and other stuff.
It’s one of those things where I would have to check the vehicle in person to see the issue and then start checking things based on what I find. Otherwise it would just be a guess on my part at this stage
What do you do if it’s a push start 2011 Dodge Charger RT AWD?! Electronics work great went to start car and push start won’t work. The ETC (thunderbolt) came up and I tried to do a reset but that failed miserably.
ok Dave hers one for you. My dodge magnum got flood water into the rear fuse box, once i dried it out, recharge the brand new battery it won't crank, every things working but the starter will not engage. I've had this happen before the dealership didn't inform me what it did to fix the problem. thanks in advance
thanks for this video mine is concerning 2011 chrysler 200 and i'm having cranking issue as described but i can not locate the starter relay, please help me out.i have changed the starter twice already
I have a 08 300 limited and I cant figure out what fuse or relay I need to replace to get the washer pump for the windshield wipers to spray water I replaced the pump so it's not the pump the pumps not getting power?
+MotorCity Mechanic. My 2008 Chrysler 300, wont turn over, The lights on the dash wont turn on. As a matter fact, when I turn the key the security light blinks and makes three dinging noises. That's how I know it wont start. When I turn the key to the "on' position and it doesn't ding and the temp appears on the dash then I know it'll turn over. I have to repeatedly turn the key and eventually it starts. I watched your video and replaced the starter relay and that didn't fix the problem. Also it has a new battery. Recommendations? and thanks for the video as it is very helpful.
Could this also cover 2008 dodge rams, my truck as stranded me 4 times and every time everything works fuel pump, dash lights, radio, headlights just no crank then after sitting for awhile and a lot of trying to crank it over boom it will fire up and no codes come up
@J Briede I was just reading about it and I've looked all over and I can't find a relay for the starter and I was reading that the rams with tipm don't have relays because everything goes thru the tipm so idk
This video wont apply to the ram trucks......not the same issue. For yours there is no one common item I have found. It will take some hands on diag and monitoring of the data with a high end scanner when its acting up to see if anything obvious.
I've had trouble starting my 2008 dodge charger i use to crank the ignition until it turn over but now that its cold outside it won't start at all. The diagnosis says its the short runner valve control.. Should i spend 180 on the short runner valve or try changing the relay first
A short runner valve wont cause it to not spin over. I want to be clear about that....your saying that the starter is not engaging and spinning the engine correct or is the starter spinning it but the engine never starts up and runs by itself?
@@MotorCityMechanic correct i finally got it to jump start yesterday but when i turn the engine off it wouldn't start back up.. So that's a starter problem right ? All i get is a clicking noise when i attempt to start it
Big thank you for this video. Question for you, though. Is there a permanent fix to this issue? Had a relay not work about 6 months back and replaced it. It's at my mechanic's now with the same symptom. He's going to try my fix, but assuming it's a bad relay again, is there a more permanent solution to this problem?
Jason it most likely will be something else.....reason why I say that is I have never had to replace one twice on the same vehicle. Update me on what they find out. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe
@@MotorCityMechanic Hey! It turns out it was a corroded cable leading to the starter that somehow got jarred out of place during the alignment. Thankfully a free fix given that my mechanic is a solid dude, but nothing having to do with the relay.
I'm having starting issues on my 2015 charger road and track. Battery is new, alternator checks good. Car starts now and then. Feel like there's a short somewhere or something draining the battery. Going crazy trying to get it working again. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you
I have a situation i have a 2011 Dodge charger and it wont turn over. I had just filled it up with gas and turned it off went out of town for a few days came back it started and turn right off after a minute of running. Now the steering is tight and the brake pedal is hard to push in? im not sure if its the starter relay, the brake light switch, bad gas or just the starter. Can you help me? Also a lighting bolt in parentheses appeared as well.
Im not a mechanic by all means, but I do have a question...2008-2011 chrysler 300 and dodge charger are they compatible with each other...I'm thinking about buying the whole driveline, trans, drive shaft, rear differential
I have an 07 srt 300 and it won't start. I got a service park assist mesg in the evic, engine light with codes that read as followed p0645, p0480 and p0481. I disconnected the battery and let it sit overnight. The next day it started right up. When I put it in gear, the park assist would constantly chime as if I was about to hit something. Also, when putting it in any gear, the car will thump hard. I checked the ignition pin, I've changed the battery and still can't figure this out. Also worth noting, the horn doesn't work at all bit everything else does. Any ideas before I light this thing on fire? 54k on the clock
My 2009 dodge charger has similar issues and replacing the relays with wiper does nothing. What I've noticed, is that when I turn my ac up to the 3rd notch, it's gives it juice to start. My battery is good, but my car starts really rough and even grinds when doing that little trick. Mechanic told me my starter was good, but I feel like it may be the starter issue. A friend of mine used to own a Chrysler 300 and said it could be the evap canister. I did have check engine light turn on with codes for evap (auto zone cleared codes without giving me info) so I am not sure if that could be the issue as well. Any input?
Glad to see it was another simple repair. Appreciate you finding the video and for commenting. Make sure to subscribe and hang around to check out some of my other videos.
I'm having this problem with my 2012 Chrysler 300. I press the break and push the ignition button and no start.. But all my lights are on, radio, etc. But no break light???? Please help if you can.
Hey bud question im working on a 08 with 3.5 charger i tried replacing the starter relay still nothing im getting a code b2104 is the code n im a lil stumped cuz the gear shifter i have to step on brake a few time to even move it outta gear and when i looked up code some ppl are saying bad gear shifter assembly or bad fcm but when i look up from at the power distribution box under hood there no module there
I dont know what the price of the WCM may be.......been along time since I priced one. I recommend having it checked....you may luck out and it just be the key. Still not the cheapest repair but certainly better
Hey motor city I need help with my Chrysler 300c I change the relay fuse around with the horn fuse and it works then 2hrs later it won’t start do I need to buy a new relay fuse
have a 06 charger just changed the starter last week when I go to start it sometimes just clicks most the time starts up. when it does click I cycle the key a few times then it starts. I do hear when it clicks sounds like the actuator is coming out but does not turn the motor.
Hi David, I have a bit of a different issue on my '14 Compass. While I was intentionally inducing wheel slip on ice today, I had the ABS, ESC, 4WD! illuminate. Upon restarting the vehicle, the ABS and ECS lights remained and I noticed ABS functions were not affected. All of the lights have since gone out after a full ignition cycle. I already have scheduled an appointment with my dealer, and I'm wondering if the problem can still be diagnosed even though the lights are no longer lit? Are ABS/ECS/4WD codes stored in the ECU like typical soft engine codes?
Evening. It will store the codes. The fact that you induced wheel spin most likely set an abs speed sensor code. I can make that happen by operating one in the air on 2wd models due to 2 wheels moving while other 2 not. Which is basically what may have happened with you. Being that the lights are now off and you know when and how the lights originally came on, I personally wouldn't bother having it checked. That's just my opinion. If it was still in then yes but the issue isn't present at this time so an accurate diagnosis will be difficult
Thanks David! Should I worry about the 4WD! error light? (its no longer lit) does it typically work in conjunction with the ABS system? Or does it mean the clutch pack in the center coupling was possibly was slipping?
+abhamber codes in the abs can cause the 4wd error as well. Any kind of wheel slippage can affect it. I believe you will be fine. If the light comes back on then by all means.....schedule an appointment to have it checked. Otherwise drive it and enjoy it lol
I have a 2009 Chrysler 300 LX when I take my foot off the break pedal sometimes it makes a slow noise when it releases had all the brakes done rotors done emergency brake done about six months ago is it OK to drive like that and what is the problem
I have a 2008 300c 3.0 CRD. I've been having the same start up issues periodically for the last year. It's had a new battery and won't jump off another vehicle either. The battery has been checked and is not draining. I've swapped the starter relay for one of the others (same part number) to try that.... still nothing. All electrics work, all ignition lights turn on then some off as is normal. Then turn key to crank = nothing. Worth mentioning that the car had a chrysler recall about 18mths ago which was something to do with the ignition module. (Apparently key could jump out of position and turn engine off whilst driving). I got 2 new keys with that recall. When this problem happens, neither key works. But both keys work fine at other times! Any ideas!?
So how much does it cost to buy the new starter relay and if I get a problem where the car is not keeping power but the car drives but the battery is drain all the time it’s a police edition 2010 dodge charger
MotorCity Mechanic quite a few codes came up ..P0730,P0501,C101F,C102A,C1027,C121A,U140B,U1417,U140A..I know the front right passenger tone ring and the rear left tone ring is bad..
RAHRAH807 I haven’t seen any tone wheel issues.....always the sensor that fails on those that I check. We put sensors on all the time on these vehicles. But anything is possible.
I was wondering if it's a relay issue that my chrysler sebring 07 3.5l, cranks but won't start. I changed the camshaft sensor and crankshaft, and get a p0340 code, even though I changed the camshaft. Love your videos.
Evening, that code is electrical and the causes can be wiring, the sensor, or the PCM. It will take testing the wiring going from the PCM to the sensor to make sure no damage or shorts. The circuits will need to be load tested. If that code keeps coming back each time cleared then I would certainly start with that. One thing I recommend to check just incase is make sure that the timing belt isnt broke as well. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe
There is starter relay under the hood. Its numbered 27. Look at the fuse/relay cover and see if they have it shown. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe
MotorCity Mechanic Hi again, I have a dodge charger 2016 V6, some water went in the intake and I vacuumed it all out. Upon draining the motor oil I noticed that it did not have any water in it. Since then my car won't crank. All I hear is a click from the solenoid. I rented a code reader and the codes show bad crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensors on both banks. Also the engine won't turn over manually after removing spark plugs and serpentine belt. It it possible the engine is just protecting itself from starting?
Abraham Garcia-Santos Hate to say it but sounds like internal damage. Most likely bent rods. If water got into the intake then it got inside the engine. You showed the with the plugs out that you can't turn it by hand. Might be time to check with your insurance company to see if it's something that might be covered. Wish I had good news but not in this case
I have a Chrysler 300 2012 I replaced the battery and the alternator at the same time but now my backup Camera doesn’t work please help. I checked the fuse
There is a chance that the radio is acting up. Reason why you notice it know can be that when you powered the radio down (battery disconnect) it didnt boot up properly or something will no longer respond. It will take some diag and possible having the dealer check it out to be sure. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.
@@MotorCityMechanic its it's a 2011 Crysler 300. I just need to get to it. The code came up so I just decided to go ahead and replace it. Thanks for your help.
I have a dodge charger 3.5 litters my gas needle does not tell me the right amount of gas that i have what should i do? And my heater does not work help me.
Both issues are something that will require first hooking up a higher end scanner to see the data related to the fuel level to see if its a gauge issue or sending unit issue. Same goes for the HVAC problem. We need to make sure its not an actuator failure and using that same scanner would tell us that. Otherwise its too early to give a guess on the possible cause of both concerns. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.
If it was the both relays then the other item the relay came from would not be working as well. Sounds like you have a different issue. Its going to take someone checking it out (hands on) to see what might be an issue. Starting point would be checking for codes.
MotorCity Mechanic I got the code P0882 on a charger no crank and checked the starter relay also code reader says “Primary Fix - Replace Transmission control relay”
I am worried if any damaged was caused underneath the vehicle. Do you see oil leaking anywhere? I would wonder if something hit the oil pan and causes a leak and the engine ran out of oil. This could explain the symptoms that you had. I recommend checking the oil level at the dipstick to see if its at the correct level. If okay....then I recommend checking for codes to see if the cause is something else.
Is that the same as the pcm box cause my doing the same thing it just all my Gauges will get stuck and the Radio will cut off but the car will still run just not pass first gear
I got Chrysler C300 SRT 2010 - The color of MY RELAY is cream color and 4 pins though 5 socket holes with No NumberS on the relay (Plain) and the one suggested to be wipper to swap is 2 blacks with 5 pins, although it Fits, it has digits No. ACV12212 MO3 - 04692261AA on it!!! So, not sure of what can I do - if its swap-able? The one you said we should not mess with is also cream in color (No Number on it just like the Starter Relay) Not Black with 3 fuse 2 cream and 1 blue. Everything is the same as in the video. Please help people!!!
Hi Dave , wanted to see if you could help me out. I have an 05 chrysler 300c, I put brand new fuel pumps on each side and I checked all the fuses which work fine but when I put the key in the ignition it cranks but doesn't fully start. Do you know what the problem to this is?
First thing I recommend is checking for codes. In most cases a code or codes will be set that may help point us in a direction. Otherwise it goes down to checking fuel pressure and spark. Also....does it ever start cranking like for example......2 attempts it cranks.....then the 3rd time it no longer cranks?
when it does start does it chug and seem like its misfiring. on real cold days I had problems with to much air bc I had a intake leak. its a pretty cheap thing to try just have to get the gasket I think mine was actually leaking from the egr tube in the back

Thank you too much!! I did as you mentioned in the video and my car turned on right away! I then drove to AutoZone and replaced the bad relay!! You saved me from replacing the WIM and saved me a lot of money, I owe you a case of beer!!!

Thank you so much for this video ! We've been broke down for days about to put it in the shop for a new starter and my husband clicked on your video . Fixed our 08 dodge magnum

Did you ever run into this issue again?
Well the good thing about changing parts that it doesn't need it that you will not have to worried about a new Started again in case you would've changed haha
Thank you for the video. I spent around $1000 on my 2010 Dodge Charger (which didn't fix the issue) and it could've been a simple starter relay. Well I guess you learn as you go.
Thanks for finding the channel. You never know....it could have been the issue. I have seen it fix at least about 2 dozen vehicles over the years. Make sure to subscribe and next time you have issues.....check out my other videos and contact me as well.
I have a 2008 chrysler 300 and it had the same problem. Swaped the relay and that solve the problem. Thank you. Your info help alot.
I'm currently having the same issue and nobody seems to know how to fix it. It's very frustrating.
Thanks!

@@MotorCityMechanic will this relay also work on 2006 Dodge 5.7L charger?
I have been having this problem with my 08 charger, had it towed to a shop then was told it was the ignition switch and had to take it to the dealer, took it to the dealership and they changed the ignition switch that had a recall, still not fixed. the dealership said it is the engine wiring harness and dodge no longer makes it so I have to order it online and they will charge $1000 for labor. so I am excited to try this today.
I hope it worked out. If not then it could be alot of things. Something I would need to get my hands on to check

I'm fixing to try this on my 08 magnum now. Just started having starting issues. Boy would it be awesome for this to be it. 🤞
Mine would be different. The relays on my 08 are not the same. The fuse box and layout is an exact match. Completely. But my starter relay is a different part number from the 2 wiper motor relays. I'm not going to try switching them. Plus mine started everytime just now. Didn't have the issue this round.

@@MotorCityMechanic my 2015 300 Chrysler. Not have power . What can I do???

The plastic fender liner has a few fasteners that you will need to remove and maybe a plastic rivot or two but nothing too hard to remove.
I Change the relay and I am still having problems. What should i look for now.
Its too early to say what it might be.....there are alot of things that need to be checked. The first is to have the system scanned for codes.....not with a basic code reader but with a higher end scanner that can access all the modules. If no codes then monitoring the data in certain modules can tell us as well what the cause could be.

My 2006 Dodge Charger SE won’t start. I have a solid red light on the dash. I have changed the starter, ETC, PCM, alternator, battery and starter relay. I’ve even taken it to the dealership and they can’t tell me what’s wrong smh!
All i get is a clicking noise when i attempt to start it
@@longlivethetrill Could be a battery issue if you had to jump it off. Thats where I would start first....making sure the battery is good.

Any input?

Awesome! Thanks for the advice David.
+abhamber your always welcome

Any ideas!?
Have 13 300c that just powered down, nd now just turns when try to crank ???
So how much does it cost to buy the new starter relay and if I get a problem where the car is not keeping power but the car drives but the battery is drain all the time it’s a police edition 2010 dodge charger
Would a bad rear left abs tone ring cause a 2010 Dodge Charger awd 3.5 into limp mode..won’t accelerate passed 25mph
Have you checked for codes? There are some ABS codes....mainly dealing with the speed sensors that can cause a limp mode.
MotorCity Mechanic quite a few codes came up ..P0730,P0501,C101F,C102A,C1027,C121A,U140B,U1417,U140A..I know the front right passenger tone ring and the rear left tone ring is bad..
I am changing the front right cv axle and the rear driver cv axle along with all new abs speed sensors to limit down the codes.
RAHRAH807 I haven’t seen any tone wheel issues.....always the sensor that fails on those that I check. We put sensors on all the time on these vehicles. But anything is possible.
MotorCity Mechanic when you have a bad abs wheel speed sensor would it cause the vehicle not to shift out of first gear? Limp mode

MotorCity Mechanic my 2011 Dodge Charger roof won't close the open n close button click but won't close the vent won't click or close

Hi again, I have a dodge charger 2016 V6, some water went in the intake and I vacuumed it all out.
Unfortunately my insurance won't help me. Can the connecting rods be swapped out easily if the engine is opened from below (removing oil pan).?
Abraham Garcia-Santos I recommend removing the engine and tearing it down to inspect everything to see what's damaged and what needs to be replaced
MotorCity Mechanic thank you I try to reset it manually it worked just for that one time .
The ESM 1001 Evaporation system i lobcated.
Are you wanting to know where the ESIM is located thats related to the evaporative system? If so then whats the make, model, and year of the vehicle.
@@MotorCityMechanic its it's a 2011 Crysler 300. I just need to get to it. The code came up so I just decided to go ahead and replace it. Thanks for your help.
Its located in the right rear (passenger) side wheel well. You will need to remove the right rear tire and fender liner to access it.
Where do I find out about 2005 chrysler 300 Hemi C?
I have a dodge charger 3.5 litters my gas needle does not tell me the right amount of gas that i have what should i do? And my heater does not work help me.
Both issues are something that will require first hooking up a higher end scanner to see the data related to the fuel level to see if its a gauge issue or sending unit issue. Same goes for the HVAC problem. We need to make sure its not an actuator failure and using that same scanner would tell us that. Otherwise its too early to give a guess on the possible cause of both concerns. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.
Thanks for your assistance. Save me some money.

I just switched them with the same two you recommended and still no start should I still try a brand new relay?
If it was the both relays then the other item the relay came from would not be working as well. Sounds like you have a different issue. Its going to take someone checking it out (hands on) to see what might be an issue. Starting point would be checking for codes.
MotorCity Mechanic I got the code P0882 on a charger no crank and checked the starter relay also code reader says “Primary Fix - Replace Transmission control relay”
Where can I find my starter relay box on my 2008 Chrysler Sebring?
Dave i hit a bump in the road today then my engine oil light flashed a few times and my car lost power now it will not crank or turn over
I am worried if any damaged was caused underneath the vehicle.
I have a 2009 dodge charger going through this just replace my relay in the trunk it was blown should i do the front 1
What if it cranks over but doesnt start? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
will this work for a 2010 dodge challenger se?
Did u get your issue resolved?
I have a 2006 charger rt, when trying to start all i get is multiple clicks. Any suggestions?
Hi Dave , wanted to see if you could help me out. I have an 05 chrysler 300c, I put brand new fuel pumps on each side and I checked all the fuses which work fine but when I put the key in the ignition it cranks but doesn't fully start. Do you know what the problem to this is?
First thing I recommend is checking for codes. In most cases a code or codes will be set that may help point us in a direction. Otherwise it goes down to checking fuel pressure and spark. Also....does it ever start cranking like for example......2 attempts it cranks.....then the 3rd time it no longer cranks?
when it does start does it chug and seem like its misfiring. on real cold days I had problems with to much air bc I had a intake leak. its a pretty cheap thing to try just have to get the gasket I think mine was actually leaking from the egr tube in the back
Thank you for this information
