  • Lord Snow. / youtalkingtome . This video has some pretty quick edits. RUclips has taken down the first two episodes because of length and i've had to shorten them. So please don't be mad at me in the comments, this is an effort to save the video.

"Is he (Jamie) legit?" One of the top 3 most interesting questions of this series, I think.
Also ... One thing the show tries to convey at this point but doesn't always come through enough is that to most of the Seven Kingdoms, sounding the alarm about the White Walkers is like demanding the U.S. military in our world put all its resources into defending against UFOs, or zombies. They've heard of White Walkers, but as ancient mythology, or maybe more accurately like a past threat of Neanderthals -- existing at one time but now widely considered extinct. Most people view The Wall as more of a convenient place to send criminals, and at times for disgraced nobles and semi-nobles to go ... like Jon Snow.

Interesting. I like that in this "fantasy" there is still myth. Much like when Dany is being told about the dragons.

@@watchthiswithjoeandkevin6 Yes, the world as understood by most people in the show is more realistic than fantastic, a late-medieval style setting in which dragons, white walkers and anything magical are not seen as real, but are relegated either to distant past or the realm of myth and legend. Opening the first episode as they did, showing horrors beyond the wall, creates a dramatic irony as we the viewers know all along that there is a real threat which most characters dismiss as old wives' tales (like those told to Bran).

in the scene between ned, cat, and littlefinger in the books, littlefinger says "do ALL starks have naught but snow between their ears?" and to this day it's still the sickest burn ive ever seen 🤣

I've always taken that ending a little different. Yes, Ned has seen a lot of fighting and war, so of couse PTSD. I always took the ending as his realization of the reality of the situation for Arya. Yes, Arya is training and she's happy and it's fun...but she's training to fight and he knows the reality of that very well. I believe that was when it dawned on him.

That makes a ton of sense. He can tell she might actually be in a situation where it's real.

@@watchthiswithjoeandkevin6 I remembered that, but couldn't for the life of me recall him in GOT. I didn't even recognize him in the re-watch until he said,
      "There's Grandpa Joe".

Ned is absolutely the best. Every character on this show veers left or right of "decent", sometimes all the way to horrible ... but Ned is the center. He's possibly the best man in the realm. He treats others with respect, but with what they deserve. And his children are amazing, too. Because they learned from him.
I think Robert Baratheon is a pretty good King. He's a man, and has all the foibles that men tend to have (he drinks and eats too much, laughs at others misfortune). It'll be interesting to see how his story progresses.
The nights watch are a necessity. "Winter is coming" means something in this world, and they understand that. They're kinda like the Jedi in Star Wars, a necessary organization there to keep peace from something others don't understand. But they're still made up of men, and in this show "men" are generally flawed. lol

It will be interesting to keep track on which characters you think are the best or worst, and whether those views change as you get to see more of them. The show is good at fleshing out characters to get beyond a simple division into good guys and bad guys. (Though some remain simply awful!)

I am sure my opinion will change as the show goes on. I am so intrigued by all of it. I can see how this would be very bingeable
