I feel sorry for the bike's owner. He lost a whole riding season because he couldn't get it worked on. Thank God that he contacted you! Keep up the excellent LT video guidance & work!
I overhauled my '99 K1200RS back in 2017 watching your videos. Most recently I had to pull the ABS module and have it rebuilt by Module Masters. That was a chore I wouldn't want to do again. Thanks Kirk
Wow what a mess..I can't believe that guy waited all that time n they probably didn't even bother looking at it..that would end my patronage right there..fortunately ur available for repairs if needed..may consider an LT...it I can find a clean one out there..Good job sir.. .
I would recheck the direction of the filter to make sure the flow is correct. Also check the quick disconnects to make sure they are plugged in all the way
I picked a bad time to wear earbuds. 🤣 That's why I don't bring my bike to a shop. So many shops just sit on it. It's hard to find reliable mechanics anymore.
I assume you have heard that BMW is no longer selling service manuals for their new models. Looks like they want to put folks like you and me out of the “fix it yourself” business.
All BMW is doing is creating a bigger market for alternatively sourced manuals. I'm sure in some corporate decision makers mind they will drive more people to the dealer for service when in fact it'll just do the opposite and drive more anger towards the brand....and yet they still can't figure out how to build a good driveshaft. Good move bmw, you never cease to amaze me.
@@Marc-zf3xv I agree. The mostly likely successor for my 2007 LT was a K1600GA. I will likely trade in 2023. I had planned to trade this year, but the supply chain is still too screwed up and prices too high. I will wait for things to settle. BMW is now off my list and I will likely get a Gold Wing. I like the GA slightly better, although with the new larger top case and the Corbin side case lids, the Wing’s only remaining shortcoming is the too small 5.5 gallon gas tank. So, Honda is also stupid in some ways just as is BMW.
@@LTVoyager never said "aftermarket" I said "alternative market". I have a K1600 manual.... There is one guy in the UK who makes a service manual covering a few topics on the K16.
@@LTVoyager Honda cut too many corners on the new Wing initially only to correct them later, the small fuel tank was one of the worst decisions and not easily corrected by Honda so an aux taildragger tank is the only option.
Thanks for a good laugh this morning. The security alarm going off was funny as hell!

Great video. I always learn when I watch them.
Good job!....You certainly do have the knowledge.
Great video as usual Kirk...
Always enjoy your videos! Thanks.

My fuel pump seems to be making a noise like it straining to pump. Bike runs and drives fine, all I did was change the fuel filter.
If in this case, you have to clean the fuel tank, how would you clean it thoroughly?
Can you let me know which fuel pump and fuel filter you used? Don't want to pay OEM prices but don't want Chinese junk either. Thanks.
I used the one from my Amazon page I believe. Likey china. Its still working
Thanks for everything
I want to purchase valve stem seal 2005 BMW K1200LT
can you please send me link for it?
Any idea what could cause a high pitch whine?

buen trabajo amigo
Where can you buy the new fuel pump?
any bmw dealer. countless sell on the internet
I think I’d buy a new pump and harness. Don’t know if you want to go playing with electric wires in the gas tank. Liability issues are my concern.
The fun part is cleaning out that tank.
Sounds like the dealership in Wisconsin. They're all the same useless crap. Break more stuff than they fix.

😂
Go to the local airport . Buy AV gas for a mixture of 30 % . Whenever you can . Also ethanol sucks 😢

@@Marc-zf3xv How many aftermarket manuals do you find for a K1600 which has been out for 10+ years now?

If there is one thing i have learnt about BMW bikes its no good cutting corners when it comes to the fuel system cheap fixes are false economy 😢
