- Minecraft has a lot of mobs, roughly 83 in fact, but not all are equal, with some being the face of the game, and others being despised. Today I attempt to explain the history behind every minecraft hostile mob in 30 seconds each!

I think people don't realize that if the Iceologer would've won, it would've been just as annoying as the phantoms. Despite the outcome, half of the community would've been mad either way.
Spiders making actual webs in Minecraft would've been so cool.
Something like this should be in, I find it a bit odd that cobwebs are still not renewable after all these years
in minecraft dungeons they do, is so fucking annoying.
Unless there's some sort of gear that ignores it there's no way it would work. People would have to carry shears everywhere.

@@Stakxed Yes but it's not fast enough to actually us in combat. You'd be stuck in place too long and easily be killed.

Back when Guardians first came out you could use torches to get rid of drowning instantly. Now you have to use doors XD
On bedrock you can't even use doors, water breathing is really the only way to go

As much as I dislike phantoms and their ungodly terrible pathing, I'm still more amazed by the things that _haven't_ changed. Everything still sees open trapdoors as walkable, spiders still try to path through walls, creepers are still chil, slime still hop blindly, and I don't think bat's and blazes have ever seen any love since they were first introduced.
But now zombies summon reinforcements at a sometimes tedious rate, and skeletons either will or won't have perfect aim if you stand still in a corner while also being able to plink you from across the map with no problem.
well regarding the spiders, creepers, blazes, and slimes they really is not much to change since they already worked fine in the game and currently doesn't really effect negatively much regarding experience and gameplay. the trap doors either mojang thinks it doesn't feel like it'll negatively effect the gameplay at all, don't think it needs that much of a priority due to how minor of a bug it is, or just simply don't want to piss off the technical minecrafters.
although the bats and the phantoms really do need to be reworked and changed.
I think Strays and Husks have a bit of interesting stuff going for them, Strays being a source of slowness arrows (thus a Stray Farm possibly being better than a regular Skeleton Farm) and Husks not only debuffing you with Hunger, but also not burning in sunlight (plus turning into regular Zombies when in water for too long, and then from Zombies into Drowned) make them a bit more of a hazard to contend with.
Drowned can also be really dangerous early on thanks to their Tridents, and they'd be even worse if said Tridents got enchanted, imagine a Drowned with Riptide III blitzing you out of nowhere.
You won’t believe how annoying drowned are on Bedrock Edition. Also, he should’ve at least mentioned husks and sunlight.

Just break a single block by a village in the middle of the countryside only to instantly get a trident to the face.
@@MB-sq7yn yeah I know they’re WAAAY too common it’s such a pain. Also the Aquatic Update was to make you explore the oceans but you pretty much can’t unless you’ve got tons of breathing potions and netherite like the drowned are way to common so I can only appreciate the ocean in creative:(
The first time I played Minecraft, I thought that every single mob is friendly and will fight for you, and then I discovered survival mode.

the first time i played minecraft it was on the ps4 in 2015, i explored superflat worlds on creative mode and i saw "the end" preset so i checked and there was just nothing at all, i didnt know alot about survival cause i didnt play survival

I want it back imo it was more challenging maybe it could be added to hardcore mode or just regular hard mode

I actually like strays, slap powdered snow into your skeleton farm and you have a slowness arrow farm
But I never get any use out of those, somehow it doesn't feel slower at all
@@BlueSodaPop_ make sure it’s actually shooting the slowness arrows, if you have normal arrows in your invent it defaults to those

Feel like the Evoker and Ravager should have been mentioned. They both appear in Raids, making them semi-common.

It can be fixed by renaming "Infested Stone" into "Stone Monster Egg" or something of that nature.

relatively niche/haven't been around
that long and only spawning specific events or structures; but left it opened to a part 2 (given that part 2 is the rest and not just passive ones as suggested at 11:34). Also would zombie village count since zombie and baby zombie were two different ones? Otherwise good, title got to have that charm to get those clicks.

I personally think that the biggest reason why phantoms are the most hated mob by the community Is because the phantom membranes do not have a use aside from slow falling potions and repairing elytras (one used for rare fun, and the other one rarely being used). They should just add one or two more uses (and more usefull aswell), and then the community wouldn't hate It as much, and be more apreciated
Nah the reason they're hated is because they're freaking annoying if you're high up and they knock you down or just the fact that they come from the sky, and flying enemies in video games have a reputation for being hated, plus they can attack you and spawn in Mushroom Islands (Where NO mobs besides Mooshrooms spawn)
@@flamedramon68 maybe if you should sleep then, and/or always have a bed near you or in your inventory during an afk session so that you can sleep if It Is night time after the afk session

I somehow remember being hit be the insane horizontal leap a few times. Spiders used to annoy me more than skeletons
I personally dont find anything wrong with the phantom. Its just a new annoying mob that just reminds you to sleep. But hey thats MY opinion. And i do respect YOUR opinion as well.

@@claudetheclaudeqc6600 realism isnt what makes minecraft the fun game it is. If I want to explore I want to explore without using a portable bed everywhere I go. The phantom isnt even dangerous, as they do little damage. They are just obnoxious. The mechanics of the phantom is the opposite of fun, they hit you one time and fly back up, and wait like 30 seconds before coming back down. That is my opinion of course, and I respect yours

Did you know that if a zombie with armor becomes drown the armor falls off with full durability? Does not work with gold helmet because it will go inside the drown’s head giving it small gold bits inside

This is only on bedrock I believe, it's great if you want to steal some enchanted armor off of a zombie

9:46 I'm so tired of everyone trash-talking about the Phantom. If people hate annoying mobs then why are they okay with skeletons, creepers, baby zombies, wandering traders, slimes, endermen, shulkers, witches, blazes, endermites, silverfish etc. then?
Tbh, Phantom one of my favorite mobs in the game. It's annoying, challenging, beautiful, unique and drops valuable loot.
Ah man i remember when they announced the piglins on the nether update i was so hyped, since i always wanted the pigman idea come to reality, so it was a dream come true
But Drowned's actually have a really niche use aside from Tridents and Nautilus shells, they can be used to make the only ever renewable Copper Farm (idk how far Caves and Cliffs was along during the creation of this video so it might be just omission via literally not existing yet)
One of the worst possible moments in 1.18 is being chased by a speed pot witch while you are under the effects of a slowness potion.
That is true horror.
I really love phantoms because they repair my elytra(non-enchanted one) and other things like dungeons arise mod they added a stadium once u go near that spawner it would summon those multiple phantoms with skeletons riding them that has a valuable loot
You forgot the Fact that Slimes don't deal damage in their smallest form while Magma Cubes do deal damage even in their smallest form.
Imagine having a Bacon cape is cool and also disturbing since when joining or creating a new game the pigs will always know what you did to their kinds.
Endermen long ago used to make: zombie noises & had a pair of green eyes instead of purple.

I love how you progressively got more annoyed at the mobs as the video went on
Worst mob in the game is vexes. They fly around THROUGH BLOCKS, swoop at you like phantoms AND DROP NOTHING. Their only positive is they are spawned by evokers, which you have to effectively go out of your way to fight, so are avoided easier than having to skip every night like with phantoms. Vexes going through blocks is genuinely so annoying, because they will hit you from the block you are standing on sometimes.
Yeah they suck, the fact that they can fly through blocks is just too op, I know they're ghosts but still
Vexes are the worst mob to fight, since the hitbox is miniscule

I find it funny how people complain about mobs like husks, strays, or drowneds being a dumb mob when they will literally complain about minecraft not having enough mobs if the mobs don’t exist
I don't mind them. Strays are rare, so they don't really matter. Husks make the desert even harder to survive in, and drowned have some unique qualities.
Strays can be used to farm slowness arrows, drowneds can be used to farm copper (originally gold) and tridents depending on how you spawn them. I feel like husks should have some interesting drop to set them apart from zombies, maybe dropping sand to make it easier to farm? We'd need some way of converting zombies into husks though, can only do the other way around as of now
We want interesting mobs, not boring ones.

two kinda useless things that are nearly impossible to get in java
(the wiki states that 6.25% of drowned spawn with tridents and only 8.5% of those guys drop them)

TLDR; too much effort for too little reward,
its literally just a netherite sword, a diamond axe does the same damage, while not taking literal hours to farm(look up the drop rates on the wiki). you also cant repair it unless you have another trident or mending (no, prismarine doesnt work, although that would bring it out of F tier).
also a thing ive noticed, since "throwable sword" is the main draw of it, you feel (or at least i do) obligated to use it that way, and unless you have loyalty youre going to lose it that way.

Everyone says how phantom were voted by the players ironic , but no one knew how annoying they are going to be
I feel like they would be less annoying if they were challenging and came out during certain moon cycles.
I don’t know why people hate phantoms. They drop phantom membranes for slow falling and they don’t go near cats so if you get a cat in minecraft you will be fine
It's because now you to have to make a bunch of AFK rooms even when standing in a fully lit, but open base. Before you could just leave the game. And having to sleep in a bed every three nights when building something can be extremely annoying if you forgot to bring a bed
There were major texture updates for slimes & phantoms plus phantoms are scared of cats, you missed those and the fact that strays get converted from skeletons in the powdered snow.
This video lacks quite a bit of detail and instead goes on about useless facts like zombies wearing useless armour 20 updates ago like litteraly no one cares about that they want actual useful facts
Imagine if Jeb pulled a Terraria Expert mode on magma cubes and made them spawn literal lava on death

Speaking IMO, I like world building, expansion and character building so this is where i’m coming from. Just my opinions.
yk i really like mob variations, despite them not dropping much of anything, the world feels so much more lived in. While it’d be nice to have more types of civilizations and types of passive mobs, I like that among the monsters, the world feels just a bit bigger when you’re exploring.
The time i first ran into the Stray and got shot with the slowness arrow, the emotion it gives you. The fear of something new you’ve never experienced but also makes the world feel bigger than you thought.
Only variant I don’t like it the glow squid, if it actually made light, I’d be more content with it.

In the bedrock edition of the game, drowned are bit more unique in the sense that they do actually swim in water, using the same animation as the player and move faster since they aren’t just “walking” underwater. The Java edition Drowned is just really boring since they basically just walk towards you underwater, which is what regular zombie would do before dead mobs were changed in sink in water. Trident drowned are also less annoying in bedrock edition as they stop throwing their tridents when you’re 3 blocks or less away from them and use melee attacks instead.

I think some hostile mobs were left out. Like ravagers, vexes, hoglins, zoglins, elder guardians, wither and Ender dragon.
I really like the Zombified Piglins tbh, they're just Zombie Pigmen but cooler xD And yeah, the phantoms are annoying, but most servers use plugins so that it just needs one player to sleep, so I never had any problems with them xD
hum, veterans will be opposed by the 1st and agreed on the 2nd (about the mob's said in comment). they all reconised the old texture for very long time, why they should now be redisinged just for the piglin espically?
And, i saw in a server having lives/videos in it still strugguling whit phantoms when the plug-in was there (because of the use of afk alt-account), so it keep at max value.

Honestly, the whole aquatic update was for you to explore the oceans but on bedrock it’s almost impossible without being on like half a heart
@@river.m2010 exactly. I'm trying to make a build and even though I have a conduit setup it's almost constant defending against them. Trying to clear an ocean monument? Guardians no problem, but drowned trap me in 1 block spaces and knock me around constantly way more than the others.
