Also, to Vivek's point that wokeness is a religion ... Lots of people in my neighborhood have these signs in their front yards. The sign verbiage starts with the phrase "we believe black lives matter." It then lists some other political statements. It's always made me think of the Apostles' Creed. I do think these statements collectively serve as a creed for the people who display these signs outside their homes.

I spoke to a lawyer about what I saw as discrimination in my workplace. Well, former workplace now. I was called on at random by the VP of my department in a meeting, after no one voluntarily answered his question, about whether or not we needed to address the number of white people who work on our team. I think he pegged me as someone who'd have a woke-minded answer, then was a little embarrassed when I said something to the effect of, " I respectively don't agree with the sentiment of this conversation and believe every person on our team deserves the role they have and proves it through their work." He then assigned me to do a report justifying my employment and the employment of my white teammates and to help prove that unconscious bias wasn't the real reason for our hiring. Mind you, I never held a management position and wasn't involved in hiring, nor did I have anything to do with recruitment or retention in the company. I was just a lowly worker bee on our marketing team. The VP told me he wanted the report done in two weeks and for us to meet and talk about it. It was distressing and embarrassing. This was on top of the string of emails HR sent with recommended reading about white privilege and anti-racism and telling us that if we weren't doing our part to fight for social justice, we were holding back our colleagues. They also sent emails about their take on current events from a woke worldview, making sure to only highlight events that could help advance their agenda and totally ignoring tragedies that invloved white victims, and even promoted safe spaces for their POC employees, apparently to hide from the evil white employees. The lawyer told me the VP didn't do anything wrong and also said, "If you're up for a promotion or raise this year, I suggest you keep your mouth shut, or get a new job." The problem is that any job you find now is going to be like this to some degree, and it's hard to find a lawyer who hasn't also been brainwashed by the woke mob and will defend your freedoms.

Here's how all of this works in MY world. If a Business, in ANY way, bows to "Wokeism" (commercials, statements, etc.), they are absolutely DEAD to me as a consumer. This goes for Products (I'm looking at YOU M&Ms and Coke) as well as Companies (Target and "transgender" kids, etc.). The ONLY voice I seem to have, as a "Conservative", is my WALLET. If a company uses some Woke Hollywood type to push a product? They are DEAD to me. I spent YEARS, living where the Army told me to go, going WITHOUT access to many many things that Americans take for granted. I lived without these products then, I can do it now.

Huh, while I've heard (and agree for that matter) the argument of Progressivism having a lot of similarities to a religion, the legal aspect of it never occurred to me. If we can have SCOTUS recognize Progressivism as a religion, then that would probably be the death knell for the majority of its' influence.
I think Vivek just found the common thing anti-Progressives can collectively push for in order to actually get some good results in America.

Nobody’s idea of a smart or principled man. Vivek has gone wayyyyy round the bend along with the rest of the GOP. In my many decades, I never thought I’d see Republicans trying to beat down their overlords in corporate America. Someone should make a musical.

It's a great sentiment: that business elites would have no more say than any other citizen in the affairs of state, and Woke Capitalism certainly hurts that cause. But your thinking liberal friends in Portland would probably point out what seemed to completely escape your notice: In the USA, speech is money, and money speech.
Long before Citizens United and certainly after, very much non-woke corporate types were spending huge amounts of money to exert an oversized influence on politics. I seem to recall the Koch's spending $1B on congressional ads alone in a single election year. That was just before all this wokeness nonsense really took hold in the culture. So effective was this deluge of cash in twisting our democracy to the purposes of the donor class, that an Ivy League university put out a graph after conducting an analysis on policy in the US, and found the following: Public opinion had a statistically insignificant, near zero effect on public policy. The odds of any given piece of legislation passing, regardless of its popularity, was about 30% (IIRC). If a piece of legislation had 0% support, it passed 30% of the time. Likewise, if it had 100% support, it passed 30% of the time. On the other hand, the graph showed that for the top 1% of income earners in the US, the rate of *their* preferred legislation passing enjoyed much more concordance with their opinions. The more the wealthy liked a particular policy, the better the chances it had of passing. If they didn't like a particular policy, it had almost no chance of passing. Unless you can explain why this study is either flawed in its research or misleading in the graph used to indicate the results, I can't imagine why you wouldn't mention it (other than not even being aware of it, of course).
So, now that bad policy originating on the left is passing, Mr. Ramaswamy protests about the influence of business elites on such policy. It seems to me that his message would have a better chance of being heard and respected by sane liberals if he would acknowledge the facts in the paragraphs above, and speak to the issues with influence peddling that existed long before "wokeness" held any sway with the business community (sincere or otherwise). If he does not, his statements may seem self-serving to the point of being blind to any issue coming from the right.
Edit: video showing the graph, w/ references. I believe from way back im 2017: ruclips.net/video/5tu32CCA_Ig/видео.html

I've already told my kids that this woke garbage is a religion but has not been officially recognized yet and that's why it's in schools etc. Like any other religious zealot, I tell them to not argue or engage, keep their distance.
