How its improved as compared to HT A9? What new features we get? Also subwoofer should be included in such expensive systems
All sony needed to do was as additional speaker options to the HT-A9 system, a new centre channel & the option to use an additional sub. This WiFi router system was unnecessary
Would have loved the A9 in black with a dedicated center channel for 2024

Did you fix the speakers so their wireless connections work properly now, so the sound doesn't cut out constantly when the speakers and controller all regularly try to change their 5ghz wi-fi channels mid-movie?
I have had the HT-A9 for 6 months and it is great. Like most people, I would like to have a black version available for these speakers. I do have the SA-SW5 subwoofer but I am thinking of adding the SONY XV800 X-series Wireless Party Speaker for additional bass. It's a party speaker which can accept bass sound from your TV.
Prefer the metal speaker enclosure of the HT-A9 vs this new fabric enclosure
I was just about to say this, was thinking of upgrading but plastic really? Doesn't have that premium feel but will cost an arm smh
You can’t make it right to everybody. For a lot of people, the HTA9 was too bulky and they wanted something slimmer. 😅 and to be clear the hta9 is plastic too and has the same coding. The only difference is that they use more recycled plastic materials in the new quad!

If there wasn't a benefit for a centre channel - why is there an option to use a sony tv as one? Therefore for those without one - it's a compromised solution.
I wouldn't have a problem paying an extra 20% to get an optional dedicated centre (rectangular in shape). But it's a no sale for me. Regardless as to how good the phantom centre is - I can guarantee I'd be thinking "could this be clearer" when using it. I'll have to go with a conventual setup.

Magaplane and Quad give imaging that nothing , not even my BW can touch, hope these are in the same ballbark, this is what I want in a open setting non dedicated video room.

how to charge the power for the two rear speakers ?
Previous version needed separate power outlet for all 4 speakers. I think it’s same for newer version as well. It’s not battery operated, needs electrical connection

Yes, really wished for a dedicated center… phantom speaker are very nice but not as a centre … and not everybody has a new Sony tv that is useable as a centre speaker
You don’t need more than four speakers when you have phantom speakers. 😅 seems like you’ve never heard the system and how it works in the HTA9. The system is insane with the phantom center speaker and it is made to work in perfect harmony with Sony TVs as center speakers and not for other TV brands 😂🤦♂️ why should Sony do that 🤦🏻 but I give you right I wish you can add the new bar 8 or by 9 to the system as an extra power boost. 😢

Each unit has 3 speakers. There's little point in having 6 different units, you can use wave resonance and cancelling to make directional sounds you just need 2 speakers in each unit and a little bit of math
Available with 2 sub?
No, only one subwoofer, but you can add the big subwoofer which base is insane and they increased the four subwoofers in the system! They are much bigger and stronger now

Hey, the system does not come with a Subwoofer, but you are correct the system offers optional speakers that can be connected to it such as the SA-SW5 Subwoofer and the SA-SW3 Subwoofer, but it is sold separately as you can check the available optional subwoofers from this link: cutt.ly/6w5RaSaR ^Michael.

They are unobtrusive - The stands are the only thing that you can improve on. I would have gone for something that matches the speaker.

Still forcing to buy Sony TV for centre speaker...approx 70% of total sound comes from centre speaker and to listen that from TV's tiny speakers ...Truely SAD.
More into money making than actually giving good sound experience to customers. Just show-off of a random wi-fi gimmick.

They upgraded the Wi-Fi connection system with a new generation of chips, highest standard in the industry. Never had this problem, but should solve the problems for everybody who had the problem! The upgrade is in the small black box so if you can buy it separately, you will also benefit from it with the old HT A9. But I’m not sure if this is going to happen.
