It is kind of funny. The ONLY two things I liked about having a smart band/watch was the step counter and being able to call my phone when I have misplaced it. Seems like I won't have to get myself a new one but can instead get one of these.
This is exactly what I’ve been wanting in a “smart” watch. I will definitely be buying one of these when they are available in the USA. Thanks for the info!
Thank you! Honestly I really love this - it’s got me wondering if I’ll go back to my other ‘dumb’ Casios (I have many of them) & which of my others I should now sell as I don’t know if I’ll wear them anymore…! I suspect this watch will be a big hit for Casio and if so I think/hope they will produce more watches with these Bluetooth features 🤞🤞🤞 Hope these get to the US soon for you ✌️
Yeah, it’s become my favourite watch by far, wearing it pretty much every day since I got it! I use the countdown timer all the time and I just love having the time absolutely pinpoint accurate in this cool retro design 👌👌👌 Would love this in full stainless steel even more 🤞
The phone finder, step tracker and multiple time zones on the display make it a must have for me. The Bluetooth makes it easy to set it up. I have one on order, well played by Casio, best one this year.
Love this. Got the gold one for my wife at $100, but would have paid $50 more for a steel case. The bracelet is surprisingly solid and sleek compared to other casio bracelets
Absolutely loving this watch - the only time I’ve worn any other since getting it is if I know I’m going to be doing really dirty/hard work as I don’t want to chip the chrome plating off. Like u said I’d love a full stainless version, it’d be absolutely perfect then 🤞🤞🤞 I really like the bracelet on these too - looks very cool imho and is v comfortable for me.
Got this today, love the design. The amber light is nice and retro. Would’ve preferred a way to charge it rather than replace the battery every couple years but still great watch.
This is my favourite watch by far! I’d personally MUCH rather have a battery life of at least a couple of years than yet another device which needs charging every night, but different strokes for different folks I suppose 🤷♂️✌️
I wish I’d seen this before spending the afternoon trying to change the date format 😤 as you say it’s annoying. I also note that it’s made in Thailand according the the QR code on the box
It IS annoying!! Tbh I almost prefer the display on the f91w and similar because they just display day (eg “tue “) and date of month (eg “21”) so no confusion anywhere in the world. Fantastic watch apart from that annoyance though 👍
Thank you! Ooof I can’t exactly remember about that strap… it’s an 18mm 2 piece nylon strap & I *think* it would’ve been off eBay many years ago. If you search eBay or Ali express I think you should find something similar 🤞
@@SpuddsBuckley the measuring jaws are some kind of hard plastic material on the calipers. Even if they were metal it’s not like I’m dragging them around making circles on the watch face or anything! 🤷♂️ Relax! ✌️
Great watch but sadly they should of made it solar. You will use the functions on this and that drains the battery faster and needs more battery changes. And although I am ok with battery changes the resin will usually strip from the screw after 3-4 times in my experience. Hopefully SKXmod makes a metal mod for it! No day/month/yr, no sale sadly!
Hmmm I do get what you’re saying about solar… if this would run for 10years or so on a solar cell that’d be cool. Much more hassle and expense to replace a solar cell when it dies though. I don’t mind swapping a battery in on of these every 3 or so years 🤷♂️
No it’s absolutely pinpoint accurate as the time (& date as well) is synced with your phone at least 4 times a day: always completely accurate (as long as it’s near your phone and can connect over Bluetooth). It’s my favourite watch partly because it’s so accurate - as accurate as your smartphone 👍
Interesting but I can't see myself being tempted by any of the features here, i'm more of an interested user than an enthusiast but I am pretty much addicted to the electroluminescent backlight on the 168.
Hi, I’ve just had a look and I dont think it does link with Apple health. The steps showing on my ABL100 are not in sync with what my phone has picked up (which I haven’t had with me at all times today) so, no it’s not linked - although I’m not sure if there is a way to sync it that o haven’t bothered figuring out yet 🤷♂️
On the watch it only displays steps but there’s a setting in the Casio watch app which it states can record your location movements if you set it going when you set off and that it will show your location history on a map, so it looks like it may be able to record distance. I’ve not used that feature so I’m afraid I can’t be sure how that works, sorry 🤷♂️
I’ve got no idea, I’m sorry. I was extremely surprised to see it in the uk to be honest - it’s usually Japan first and uk is usually well down the list for releases. I’m sure it won’t be too long until it gets to the US 🤞 It’s a great watch 👍👍
i called casio germany today. they said, that the watch will (probably) be released in germany in september. So i think the US will be delivered in september too?!
I hadn’t seen the B1000 u til you mentioned it - cool! Yeah, I think these are brilliant: the app is great for changing settings and, as you say, it’s soooo good that you’ll get at least a couple of years battery life - it used to really annoy me when I had an Apple Watch that I had to charge the bloody thing every night!
Yeah that a1000 was around £100 in the uk when it came out, so I’d expect just a bit more than that for an ABL100 in full stainless, but who knows 🤷♂️ Full stainless really *shouldn’t* be much more expensive though, I mean some Chinese watchmakers produce full stainless steel watches for much less than Casio does. Steel isn’t 24 carat gold is it! 🤷♂️

@ I take my watches off at night anyway, sitting it on a wireless charging pad wouldn’t be an inconvenience. 2 years isn’t terrible though I guess.
Great review, ordered. I have just one concern: Do the time digits look smaller than on A168 and not as clear?
Mine is on the way. Can't wait.
It’s my favourite- have barely worn any other watches since getting mine 👌👌👌

Lots of folks say the made in Thailand ones are better - never noticed any difference between there or China myself 🤷♂️
If you put a reminder in your smartphone, will the watch make a sound?
Hiya, no it doesn’t do that as far as I can see.
Hi! Nice review. Where get that sporty red strap for the A16A?
Thank you! Ooof I can’t exactly remember about that strap… it’s an 18mm 2 piece nylon strap & I *think* it would’ve been off eBay many years ago. If you search eBay or Ali express I think you should find something similar 🤞
Me wincing everytime he puts those metal calipers directly onto the watch faces.

Gutted about the lack of uk date format but I have got used to it now. It’s a great watch imho 👍
Nice! Looks vintage
It’s my favourite- it’s pretty much all I wear since getting it 👍
Love it except for the bracelet. If I get it one day Ill probably switch its bracelet with my a168
It’s such a great watch! Personally I absolutely love the bracelet, but different strokes for different folks I suppose ✌️✌️
I swapped the bracelet with my a158. Both watches came out looking better as a result.
Does the date/month is accurate, or we need to set it every month?

@accoutrements4469 so this watch has an always-on bluetooth?
@@PatroliHoax No. They synchronize 4 times a day.
Out of stock in the UK and has been for days now. shame, looks nice.
I’m sure they will be getting more stock. It’s a really great watch - haven’t worn any other since getting it.
Amazon have lots I got one of there if you still haven't got

Do the steps show in apple health do you know?

Too small!!!!!!! Please issue an adult size.
Personally I hate big watches and think this one is a perfect size, but it wouldn’t do for us all to like the same things would it! ✌️
its fine even for my 6.75-7 inch wrist!
If it's in steel case I would buy it
Yes it’d be perfect with a steel case! Perhaps this’ll come soon?? 🤞🤞🤞
500 dollars more for the steel case - ok? 😂 Stop moaning of the steel case in budget watches.
@@un_reveur check the a1000 price and the a1100 price, casio just wants a cash grab on this, the steel case is not that expensive.
