R.I.P. our Captain Robin. If People had ever been in a desperate need of a laugh, Yours were those days. A trueborn Legend of a Man, not only an exquisite comedian
Don't cha just HATE IT when that happens? At the end of the movie, "Captain America: The First Avenger", there was a very rousing music score that accompanied the cast credits of the movie. After hearing this particular piece of music, I made it a point to buy the Movie Soundtrack, of the film. The CD arrived and I eagerly anticipated putting the desired song in my computer, so I could load it onto my phone. I listened to every track of that CD, and the song I had my heart set on listening to, WASN'T on the DISC.
Me neither! I never heard of Adam Faith until I saw this movie years ago & that song had always stuck with me for years. A great rock tune! Just a few years ago, on RUclips, I found out who he was....He was very handsome too, wow!
This song was one of many written by Chris Andrews for Adam during his "Beatle" phase when he was adopting the new sound and trying to achieve chart success in USA(this one was only a minor hit there)
It wasn't one of his biggest hits - peaked at #31 in the US, and didn't even chart in his native UK. Don't get me wrong - I love the song myself. However, I understand why it wouldn't get airplay on oldies stations today.
On this day in 1964 {Oct. 14th & Dec. 16th} Adam Faith performed "It's Alright" on ABC-TV's 'Shindig!'. Just over three months later on January 16th, 1965 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #31 & spent 8 weeks on the Top 100. In the UK the B-side of "I Love Being in Love with You", it peaked at #33, and between 1959 and 1966 he had twenty four songs on the United Kingdom Singles chart. RIP Mr. Faith {1940 - 2003} and Jimmy O'Neill {Shindig's host, 1940 - 2013}.
Other record labels that show up in this clip: London (the blue/light blue design), Motown, Bang!, (the previous two are next to eah other, the Motown is on top of a Beatles picture sleeve) Checker? (black design), Capitol (just after Cronauer rocking toward and away from the mic for less than a second) Also, of course, the album that is visible for a bit is the Beatles' "Help!", which got translated into German as "Hi-Hi-HI-Hilfe!".
How amazing is the hypocrisy of life that we all enjoyed Robin Williams' humour through life, and now that doubled up the sadness we feel when we see him after he has passed. The dichotomy is real.
@@DaveDexterMusic the hypocrisy of life is that it is beautiful, and we live to survive, until it's so awful we have to take our own lives. The dichotomy is obvious then.
A short post from the record nerds: when they spin the Adam Faith record (why Dawn Busters? Legal issues?) The record that is spinning is on Crimson Records. In the USA the Faith record was on Amy Records. The Crimson label design that is seen was ca. 1967 and the movie takes place in 1965. Needless to say that this broke the reality and I cried for days following the lawsuit. Just kidding. I loved the movie and I miss Robin Williams terribly.
Robin Williams( RIP, Robin) makes the announcement in role, ie as aka Kaurnuaer he is doing the 6am show, and he's referring to the various discs he's going to bust the dawn with. Fooled me too, I heard it on GMV on the TV tonight, and thought " That's great", mmust Google The Dawnbusters, buy at the so at the end I checked the credits and I was totally gon-smackeded to discover it was Adam Farth. I was in my early teens when Adam Faith was making hits ( all rather bland) somehow I missed this. I had no idea he could rock it with the best of them. Great performance, full of verve.
@@Jigaboo123456 AF started out making records in the ballad style with orchestral backing, when the Beatles,Liverpool groups, etc started Adam decided to change direction and go with the new "sound" with some fabulous songs by Chris Andrews and good backing by the Roulettes(The first time,we are in love,It's alright,I don't need that kind of lovin',etc) he never had any real chart success in America but they're still good to listen to
Ironically I was 335 and in college and Robin was 351. He said they would have declare war on New Jersey .for him to go. God bless Robin and those who went to defend.

Sorry, but I assume he's a left wing Democrat ... BUT no matter, as this guy was truly, truly, a natural born, God gifted entertainer/actor, a one of a kind. But, full disclosure, if he is a left wing nut, and I believe he is, that has nothing to do with his talent that was on loan from God, 'cause he was great, not good or real good!

Brilliant 😂😂😂
I love this movie so much. Watched this as a kid every Christmas morning while i opened my stocking.
RIP Airman Adrian Cronauer.
My favorite sequence in the movie, by far. Love the use of the song along with the fun hand-held documentary style shots.
He added some humor, and lots of laughs, to a horrible war, in a place that these courageous men didn’t want to be!
Great movie

If you listen to the broadcasts without looking at the scene you really get a sense of how they were extremely important for morale among the men…

One of those songs with a brief chart run (peaked at #31 in Feb, 1965) and put out to pasture by mainstream radio only to be rediscovered again.

28 years. It just doesn't seem that long. When we first saw it, there were still a few drive-in theaters around town so that's where we went.
