My daughter partially amputated the tip of her thumb when she was 4 years old , we had such a great nurse. When we got home my daughter told me she wanted to be a nurse when she grew up. She’s 18 today and in university to be a nurse. It was a traumatizing experience, but it also inspired her and molded her future.

My housecat bit me and when I woke up the next day it looked just like that. I stopped by the hospital before school because it was so painful and I had a fever. The doctor immediately said 'you need to go into surgery now, you're hours away from loosing your finger.' I could not have been more panicked. I had never had surgery or even a blood draw in my life and was so scared of needles. Thankfully I don't remember much between that moment and waking back up, but they had put a drain in my finger and a full arm nerve block. Had to go an take a test the next day! I couldn't use my finger for about 5 years and then one day the scar tissue just popped and it's been fully recovered ever since. Cat live 21 years!

Last year my husband was bitten by our elderly cat. He spent a month in hospital fighting sepsis and is still struggling to use his hand. Unfortunately we had to put our cat down because it wasn't the first time she'd bitten someone. Loved her to pieces but she was now deemed to be too dangerous to be around. Glad to hear you've recovered although it took a while.

Glad you recovered fully from a cat bite, thank you for not putting cat down, glad cat lives a full life of 21 years, there's a lot of reason going through cat's mind why they bite, could be from trauma, sickness, play bite or through our own actions that set it off, we don't know it all but thank you again for not putting cat down, I have 4 cats, one cat is handicap❤😺

This just happened to me.. I have been bitten dozens of times but THIS time was different.. don’t ignore this swelling heat and redness .. i was up to date on my tetanus so I started the usual antibiotics on my own but the next day I noticed that the redness was now climbing all the way up to my elbow .. that was scary.. one week of cipro and metronidazole.. was good to go in 7 days.. I am not as relaxed about bites now… I know I have many more to come but I will DEFINITELY not be taking them lightly..one 47:28 of my cats got his paw caught in a in a grill and he was hanging from it in pain.. I tried to help him but he was in agony so he bit me.. 😢 .. cat bites come with the territory as a rescuer.. 🥰 .. sometimes there isn’t time to gear up.. oh well till the next time I guess 🐈‍⬛❤️

In the UK they have a universal health care system, as in the staff is basically employed by the same employer. It was more likely that her presence was demanded by Daisy's condition.
In the European Union doctors etc. even accompany patients on emergency trips to a specialist centre in a foreign country. If a doctor decides that this is what will be needed, the authorities in both countries will facilitate this. Nobody thinks about bills at this point, because we are pro-life.
Bills will be handled later by bureaucrats. The cost to the patient is whatever it would have cost them in their home country. For me it would be around $28 per day in a hospital, all drugs and exams included. The same price for an ambulance drive.
There are videos on YT of patients being driven in motorcades through countries in the EU.

I'm now a semi retired RN that worked in a large Burn Unit in Anchorage Alaska for 15 years. This was the only burn Unit in all of Alaska so we were always busy. I worked mostly with children. Most were 3-17 years of age. Many of our patients had 50 - 90 % burns. Many nurses could only deal with burn patients for a year. I said someone needs to take care of them so I set my mind to help the patients n their families deal with the trauma. Patients would tell me that was doing Devil's work n will go to Hell for the painful care I was doing to them. But after a year they would come by( with roses) n say God Bless you for helping me n my family survive. This is why I continued working with burn patients. Oh, when they were so worried when it was snowing alot I laughed as here in Alaska we get 4-6 feet in most storms. I love this channel.

As a 9 year old i landed in the er with a badly broken arm and needed surgery. Id broken it the day before and was in the care of a friends parent who DID NOT provide me any first aid or notify my parents. Not even ice. She then sent me to school and did not tell anyone at school either.
My mum found out in the morning when 9 year old me spoke to her on the phone and i said id hurt my arm and asked her to bring a bandage to school for me.
My mum turned up to school to find brave little me with a z shaped arm and immediately took me out of school and to hospital.
At this point im exhausted (i didnt sleep in that much pain) and relieved my mum had come for me. But in my exhaustion and pain i was terrified and then forced to go through a&e, surgery and recovery.
My dad came with my sister later in the day. Family is everything. It holds you up when you need it!

  • @Pippis78

This is just one of the reasons to avoid "plastic" clothes - polyester etc. Cotton and wool don't catch on fire very easily. Synthetic fabrics can burn in a flash and melt on the skin (and keep burning until cooling down).

My husband was bitten by our elderly cat. No real wound or soreness. 2 days later he collapsed & spent a month in hospital and had several surgeries (flushing of the wound). 12 months later he's still struggling to use his hand. It was the scariest time of our lives dealing with sepsis.Always take a cat or dog bite seriously.

I never be seriously injure while my mother watching on, nether my brother and sisters, cause she was always so careful about any kind of big danger possible, if she couldn't put any security she was monitoring this space like a real priority and when we get too excited she was really careful and try to made a safe way to play. We could do a lot, even climbing tree or else, or put wood on a fire, but never without some rules to respect for our own safety, she learned us very young how to deal with differents kind of danger. But when my mom was not there, accidents happened, other adult was not able to prevent us to get injure like she was cause she felt and saw risk before it happen.

Animal bites are the surest way to introduce bacteria into your body. My largest, most lingering, infection was from a wasp sting of all things. I was just lounging on a pool float in the pool and the wasps would alight on the surface of the water to collect it for nest building. This one must have foundered and floated over to the space between my inside upper arm and the float. It stung me twice. By the next day it was red, swollen, and extremely itchy. The doctor drew a circle around it to see if it got worse. Sure enough, a few hours later it had spread down to my hand and up to my face. It took 2 rounds of antibiotics to clear it up. 30 years later I still have the scar. I have cats and have suffered many bites and scratches but so far none have ever become infected. I use bleach water to clean the wounds. Learned that from a cat rescuer. I've never had any that required stitches. I certainly wouldn't be putting bleach water in those! But, so far, so good.

Dane amd his dad Maurice are great together. For over 3 1/2 years i took car of my mom who had dementia it was so emotionally draining that i suffered physical and mental health problems that im just taking care of now. Mom passed March 10th 2024 at 91 years old. I cant explain the emotional delema it has put me through but it was honestly relief for my precious mom. I grieved more before her death than after. No one wants to be caged in a body when their mind wont cooperate. 😢

There's a massive difference between how everyone copes with snow in London compared to Scotland because it doesn't happen very often there. Dad did such a great job with Daisy, He must have been in a lot of pain and yet he just stayed by her throughout. The lady with the old cat, Ginger, has got to be the absolute epitome of the English traditional woman; talking about the cat coming alive when it hears the theme tune to The Archers, classic.
