I was in Ireland traveling through Europe etc… I had a Tachycardia episode and I’ve had them over the years…I ended up in a hospital in Ennis and the staff took me right there and lowered it back to a normal rate…I was always told to never have tea or coffee but he told me that it’s an ‘electrical circuitry’ cause.. and I was then offered the most delicious pot of Irish tea and biscuits! After getting a ride from a lorry driver and being anxious about what to expect at the hospital I was so grateful for the wonderful nurses and doctor. I came home and received a bill from the hospital for a two night stay at the best hospital I’ve ever been in for $100 . I paid the bill and sent a letter of thanks for the beyond professional help I have ever received- even to this day I will always be in awe of their dedication and compassion.
From what I've seen on these programs, the care given to patients far surpasses what I've ever received here in the US.
You do not have health care in theUS. For one of the greatest democratic country in the world, obviously going downhill fast , however no health care. Very very pathetic. Just mean lean American mean. There is no excuse for it for not looking after your own. Ours is not perfect, no where is that has health care but it sure is better than nothing. With exorbitant bills after.
@@nancytestani1470 the us is not a democracy. It is a republic
Thats because the doctors are salaried. They are not paid by the patient like here in the USA. They are actually there because they want to help people and not just for a paycheck.
I have always thought that our ER is get in, have your blood work done and see the doctor for about five minutes, then you leave...I am the biggest fan of the UK, especially Scotland...I got my EMT license here, but didn't ever get to work bc I was in auto crash...anyway, I have watched things like this since I was about 15 or so...I would love to send the doctors a copy so they can see how important the humans are bc if we weren't there, they would not have a job...I absolutely cried the first one of these and also the life flights...it is an amazing how much we accept bc we can't get it better...
It's like the doctors from every kind of doctors at one so you don't have to go see them after you get out of hospital...I love how the medical teams call everyone a nice name, but that's just how Britain interacts in a better way...I mean if my docs came in and called me love, darling, sweetheart I might heal faster ...❤
The nurses making the family a cuppa tea...I have wanted to live in Scotland, but as time goes on, and things just keep getting in the way...
Ppl here are arguing with each other and forever thinking that our healthcare...some socialism is great!!!
To the NHS for being so wonderful when ppl are hurting...you are loved from the US, hope you all have down time!! 😷😷😷
@@oregonwandereri live here in Oregon...I agree 100%
Great stories!! The young man who was adopted along with his brother really touched my heart the way he spoke about his adoptive parents.
I'm adopted & I adored my adoptive parents; they WERE my parents to me. I miss them dreadfully EVERY day 😢 I've located some of my birth family, but it's mostly curiosity & genetics that interest me 😊
I really like the old couple. They are so adorable
I loved John and his wife, such a lovely couple. Nicky and Rod were a brave couple. The couple who adopted the two brothers did a wonderful job.
Everything is different when you're older. Years ago, I took an Anatomy and Physiology course. Every chapter had a section at the end about how it differed for older people. Now I'm older and I know personally how true that is.
I know how this blond lady feels. My husband’s friend walked into my office one day and said I had to go with him because my husband had a serious fall at work. He died the next night at midnight from a ruptured aorta that the scans missed. I was 30 yrs old and pregnant.
So sorry😢
Jeez what a terrible loss to survive.
I'm so sorry
❤️❤️
How are you doing now? I'm so sorry you lost your husband your being pregnant the time. When your baby was born it was the only time you could be happy.
Incredibly moving... to give two young boys the family they so desperately need, that's an heroic act. And no doubt incredibly rewarding too.
I relate to the young man, I was adopted at 3 months old. I was in a hospital with pneumonia when my parents first saw me. They adopted a sick child, how amazing they were. I had a fabulous life because of them. And became a medical professional for 43 years. GOD had a plan for my life.
To the son who had the bike accident, good young man you are…beautiful parents you have ❤ That’s family love! Your biological father did the right thing, he knew he couldn’t do the best for you and your brother…that’s love as well ❤
I love when Dr. Maja is on A&E! She is so sweet and caring. All of the staff at A&E are wonderful! I am in awe of how much each of them care for their patients. And they serve them tea or coffee and ask if they are hungry. It's something you don't get here in the USA! God bless each of you! ❤🙏💞🩺
Yeah I have a crush on Maja
They sure aren’t like this in US
@@Lynn-td3ly I went through an airport in the US (LAX) and the way the staff spoke to people was actually horrific! I think I'd be too afraid to go to an ER in the US, not only because of the hospital bill of thousands I would probably get for consultation fees , a bag of IV saline and a paracetamol, but I can only imagine how they will react under the amount of stress they probably have, each day.
@@juliemcgugan1244 If your in the Washington/ Baltimore area they have the sweetest nicest staff and people that will go out of their way to help with your bills . University of Maryland and John Hopkins are 5 stars in my book! But your smaller hospitals are in it for the money
She came in and told the elderly man that he has broken his neck and went away again. What kind of doctor is that. Absolutely terrifying.
Bless them for adopting school age brothers. Very lucky boys to find such a loving home and stay together.♥️
Adopting is something I want to do in the future (I'm a teacher, and I work with kids who need help and I love working with kiddos and helping them). I've always wanted to adopt because I know I can nurture, support, and help a child feel safe. I see so many lively adoption stories and I adore the people who saved children by giving them a home ❤
Love John and Barbra. They are 2 pieces of a whole.
Thats absolutely hilarious! A streaker that got grabbed.😅😅 I bet he didnt expect that, and never did that again
I laughed out loud when he said that 😅
Me too.
No safety rigging? Here in the USA that's a safety issue that is required on a job like that. Good luck to him.
I doubt they don’t have safety regulations, it’s the US that is famously poorly regulated. Remember when your banks were lending money to buy houses people couldn’t afford, and the whole world fell into recession? Last week in Vancouver there was a rigging accident, 3 men fell. They were fully geared up, all protocols followed, the high rise they were working on was not the problem. It was the chimney on the old church next door that created the problem. All regulations were followed, and there are a ton of them. There will be a big report and recommendations and it won’t happen again. Most Americans don’t travel outside of America enough to learn they’ve been given a poor deal.
The older couple is lovely!
Interesting how few gunshot wounds there are compared to American medical shows. Sad what we Americans do to ourselves.
There’s 10 times the Stabbings as for 1 Gun Shot here in the US. I’m from England.
The vast majority of Americans don't like what others do to us with their guns & we dearly want serious gun control--like any other developed country in this world has. That's all we with the functioning brains and hearts want.
@@nigelbeaumont1109I have a hard time believing that.
Nothing is as bad as life & death in the supposedly richest country in the world.
Death by gun in America--no one equals it for a developed country that we are suppose to be. More like Colombia & all their drugs.

I love all these families! Especially Mack and his parents. So sad that any of these families had to go through such pain, they all seem so sweet and genuine.
I cannot imagine, a doctor or nurse taking a food or drink order! Crazy!
I've unfortunately spent a lot of time with my parents in hospitals in the Pittsburgh PA and Cleveland OH area. Nurses ALWAYS will get us something when needed. They work the hardest of anyone there.
@@jenniferbraun7269 I have also been in the hospital for a triple double by pass died 3 times during the surgery, just so you know. They work very hard saving our lives, I cannot imagine them having to also get coffee. I think you may have miss understood my POV.

I wish bad things didn’t happen to good people ❤ Be well, I wish you all peace and good health!
I have dislocated both of my shoulders and both of my knee caps in my life and Mack is 100% right, it is the WORST pain imaginable. I recently broke and sprained my ankle and that was nothing compared to a dislocation. I walked on it for 3 days and only went in for the swelling it wasn’t even hurting that bad.
What a lovely chap john is!,
Sue the scaffolding company!!! Scaffolding should not collapse😢
Boards break. You must be an American.
Health to everyone!😥
How many ct scanners do they have? Everyone seems very professional and kind to each other and the patients.
If ever there was a time you need professionalism & kindness, it's when you're ill.
And the pts are grateful and willing to cooperate.
I have almost the exact same story. My husband fell off of 12 ft scaffold and he did die on impact because he really did internally decapitated. You just keep telling yourself like this happens to other people not us. And the worst part is you don't get to say goodbye. And he used to be a cell tower climber. He would climb towers that were 500 ft in the air and a 12 ft scaffold took him out. It's just crazy! In a lot of people don't know this but when you donate organs like my husband did he has to have no brain activity at all and somehow the brain kind of lives on and there is still like a pulse in it even like 6 days later but the doctors have to wait until that is gone and he started changing colors and kind of getting bloated at the end I couldn't go see him on the day they took his organs it was just.... I couldn't.
That must have been so hard.
😢
My dad spent a good deal of time in the E.R. in the last years of his life. I was always with him. He was very hard of hearing and no matter how many times I told the health care providers that he couldn't hear, not one of them ever spoke loud enough for him to hear. It got to the point that he would just tell them he couldn't hear, and to defer to me to communicate. I felt it was very disrespectful to him as he was an extremely intelligent man who wanted very much to be part of the conversation. I felt as though the nurses and doctors just couldn't be bothered. When I see the doctor making an effort to communicate with the elderly gentleman, it warms my heart.
I completely understand the feeling of leaving thee gather of your children because theyvare never around. I still feel that way today, but my only hesitation is that my child will see her father even less. I keep wondering if he would change his work schedule to spend more time with his one and only child that he had late in life. I had my first girl 2mo after turning 20yo, then my 2nd girl 6mo before I turned 40yo. Both of my girls were unexpected surprises and blessings. I consider my 2nd girl a miracle baby because I had been told by my OB/GYN for the pat 10yrs that I could no longe conceive because I only had 1 partial ovary and never had regular menstration.
Good news, a tear-jerker at times.
Good-looking Brother
Georges eyes 😊
Funny thing to say. I will go buy lots of straws😳
Poor guy be positive for him🙏🏻
Your mom stopped going to see you probably because she found it very difficult to say goodbye after each meeting.
Stop being so insensitive! (Joke).
I SIMPLY LOVE LOVE THIS SHOW!
We meet the most beautiful people - staff and patients - on this show ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Inspirational as usual😊
I love these videos ❤ wonderful staff... ❤❤❤❤
Mack, sweetie, there's a reason why God sent you and your brother to these great parents of yours. Your biological mom and dad weren't supposed to be in your lives and I truly know how bad a shoulder blade out of socket feels like!! My ex- boyfriend beat me up one night and kicked me in the back and that was when I got up and ran for my life!! My shoulder blade had me screaming till I was in the hospital. Thank God they knocked me out for a few minutes. You still got your whole life ahead of you. Just dont damage anymore posches lol!! 😂 Oh yea, when you get older all that pain is gonna settle in your back so if you can, go to a chiropracter to help you with alignments. They truly help!! I only wish the best for you!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great video as usual!
What a beautiful woman is nicky, rod's wife. In and outside.
people think if u have a concussion that u cant go to sleep. it's not true.
That’s because the majority of People are not in the Medical Profession
At least this place believes in treating people with true need in giving pain meds everywhere in us
United States we are treated as drug acctics. They enjoy seeing us in pain. It's also a control attitude.
Docs are probably scared shitless of being sued. Everyone sues in the States. Most of the time great docs in the States as well as anywhere else but insurance is high.
I totally agree. I have been in a bad state and completely denied pain relief in an ER once. Unbelievable.
'i saw that he had hair... and from that moment i really liked him.' yeah that's how i pick my husbands lol.
I want to hear all of John's stories.
Maybe it's just language and culture, but the last thing you want is a trauma doctor talking to you while she is walking and facing Away from you, and her saying, "You've broken XYZ, okay?" Okay?!😮
She liked him because he had hair? What kind of boys was she dating before that?
Right 😂 buzz cuts or receding hairlines🤔
Would love to see the CT images for more than two frames to actually see what their injuries are.
I've had to turn off the subtitles on here, because they are majorly triggering my OCD. I want to actually offer my transcribing services to RUclips because their subtitles are so awful! LOL!
And to each other
I feel awful for duke like imagine the image burned into his brain of the man he worked with for 7 years FALLING OFF THE ROOF.
I was adopted too. I know the parents that raised me loved me. As yours does. We are lucky. I wish you luck with your dresms

11:40 ah the guys need cat scans stat... thinking ts is anything is clear signs of brain damage
Why is the mother telling the sons not to worry and everything will be alright AND everything's fine?!
I don’t know, but I guess she is scared, and don’t want them to worry, because if you becomes very scared, you’d also becomes stressed. If they are going to go to the hospital she probably don’t want them to be very anxious. She wants them to be calm..just a theory…
There 😮were almost 13,000 stabbing in London alone last year. Your statement about the USA is ridiculous. I would much prefer to be in this country.
To the wife that said to her husband throughout the marriage, “I should have left you.” He gave you a home and children, a good life where nobody wanted for anything. It always has bothered me when wives would say such things to their husbands, I mean they new when they married them how it was. So why, why say such things, kinda breaks my heart knowing how the husband must feel when a wife would say such things. 😢
Hey, marriage is complicated and we will always say something out of turn, all of us. I
It pisses me off so much that she flat out lied to her boys. Their dad nearly died and she's telling them it's a little slip and he's perfectly fine. Kids deserve the truth even when it's scary.
Oh yeah, that would have been helpful. Two hysterical children home alone thinking their father was about to die (he wasn't).
She knew his life wasn't in danger. She said he needed to be treated in the hospital, which was true. She did what she needed to do to keep her children safe. She even mentions that she needed to be with them physically to tell them more details. Which is fine. And good parenting. Get over yourself.
Then you have ANGER ISSUES.
Broken necks are no longer a death sentence. Still serious but why tell small children immediately before they know what is the outcome.
Not on the phone she did say she would talk to them when she was with them
I totally agree! Boys 10 & 13 would understand if she said the truth but kept the details out. They deserved that.
The lady who husband fell. I feel for you but you have to pull up your big girl panties and carry on.. you got kids
Everybody should take an insurance
We have national insurance its taken direct from earnings and employers have to contribute as well. Self employed must also pay. We don't have to worry like they do in the States. Also if you are a diabetic in the UK the medication is free. In Germany you pay an average of 5 euros per prescription and 10 euros per day contribution if you are a hospital inpatient depending on your income.
10 months and this doctor is one of the most senior doctors? that sounds horrible unless it's rounds
I think they mean most senior doctor on the round.
Yes on the rounds
10 months at this hospital.
Childbirth
What, did they have a microphone right up in the face of the woman constantly kissing her husband? It's like fingernails on chalkboard to hear that *sfqueeet* of lips smacking I know she was worried for the man and wanted to reassure him, but the squeaky lips sound should have been filtered out.
Funny, but TRUE!!!
To the European people who are watching this: please don't come to the United States if you can avoid it. It's not very safe here and one trip to hospital for a serious emergency could bankrupt you. We have a serious gun control problem with military grade rifles available for purchase by random people. You are safer going elsewhere on holiday.
That is a very foolish statement. Some people might not have a choice and you are going to panic them. Think before you open your mouth 😡
@@April_Crawford-NAFO it is not a foolish statement. The military grade rifle ban did expire. What's more, all of the mass shootings that have occurred in the United States occurred with military grade assault rifles. 600+ people lost their lives in 2022 due to mass shootings. That does not include the other murders and violent crimes in the United States. The stats are not fully in yet for 2023, but there have been 42 school shootings in 2023 so far and 25 separate incidents of mass murder outside of schools. I pay attention to the current stats.
A trip to a hospital in the United States for a heart attack could bankrupt them. Our medical care is a for profit system and the average cost of a heart attack is at least $10,000. Ambulance rides are about a thousand dollars or more depending on where you are.
If you go out to San Francisco, the homeless problem is horrendous. The streets are filthy and businesses are pulling out of San Fran because of rampant shoplifting that is not prosecuted by police.
In Portland OR, since hard drugs are now legal, there is video footage of people lying in a drug induced stupor on the pavements. People living there do not feel safe. My own cousin, who was a long time Portland resident, fled the state with her two kids this past year. She had mostly grown up in Oregon. I still have family out there.
If they can avoid coming to the United States, people are much better off in Europe. For that matter, I myself would leave this country with my kids if I could possibly afford it. They have banned guns in Europe, which has lowered gun violence to nil. They have universal healthcare and put low caps on how much people can be charged for medical treatments or medication. Therefore, an American who goes to Europe and has a heart attack will be charged much less for having to stay in hospital for a while.
They did not defund their police in Europe, whereas some areas of the United States did defund the police departments. Drugs, including Cannabis, are illegal in Europe. The drug problem is much less there than it is here. We have a very, very serious problem with drugs here. I saw it first hand when I was younger. My own brother was a drug addict. I also lost a close friend to drugs. My middle school was very nearly the first school to have a school shooting before Columbine. When I was in 7th grade a gunman came onto my junior high campus carrying a loaded shotgun. Fortunately the administration was quick acting and the police showed up in a matter of a few minutes. There was no loss of life. I have seen some of the violence in the 1990's, but in the post COVID United States, we are experiencing much much more of it.
I witnessed the riots in Minneapolis after George Floyd died after a drug fueled car chase with the police. I know that the city council in Minneapolis defunded the police in 2020 for a time. I was put under mandatory curfew during that time and saw the aftermath of all of that since it was all in my own backyard. So, umm, yeah, I have thought about it plenty. I have thought about it enough that I have seriously considered planning my family's permanent exit from the United States.
I am from England…. I left there in 1987. I am now 63. This is still the greatest country… people don’t realize how massive the US is. It’s all relative in my opinion. Until one has lived in another country they really have nothing to compare this country to. I was in England in September to visit my extremely healthy 88 year old Mother. While I was there the TV reported a wait of up to 24 hours for an ambulance. I spoke to my Mum today and was told that her 79 year old upstairs neighbor had died… actually this lady’s daughter called my Mum because she couldn’t get ahold of her Mum… so she asked my Mum to go check on her… sadly she had died just sitting in her Chair. My Mum called the Ambulance and they arrived 3 hours later. So the Socialized Medicine is not what y’all think it is. 3 or more year waiting list for a Knee Replacement, but it won’t Bankrupt the Patient. I lost my Pinky Finger to an accident here in the US 3 years ago… the Ambulance cost $3000 and the hospital and surgery was $48’000….. that is outrageous. England is a miserable country…. A gallon of Gas is $10 to $12. Everything is so expensive. I’m condensing this story but id rather live here than any other Country. Here’s a eye opening statistic… the state of Texas alone is like 260’000 square miles… England is around 50’000 square miles…. So obviously things over here are going to be massively more common than over there. Over there they have an epidemic of Stabbings… police wear Stab Vests…. Of course there are Drugs and all the same crimes as are over here but remember the statistics I showed…. Hopefully I’m getting my point across. Until you’ve lived elsewhere, then tell me about it. 46:38
