As the self described "father of the entire scene", batt le rap legend The Saurus is not too far off base with that claim. One of the few who maintain a battle career that has spanned nearly a decade, Saurus is described as a legend for good reason. Based in the West Coast, The Saurus was originally noteworthy for his freestyle abilities, years ahead of his time in that regard. After winning Scribble Jam twice based off of his skill in this area, the Monterey, CA resident went on to partner with Portland battler Illmaculate for the Jumpoff World Rap Championship competition. Winning it back to back years, The Saurus, along with teammate Illmac, solidified his position in battle rap history as arguably the best freestyler in the world. Transitioning to the written era, his reputation earned him battles with some of the best in the world, and he has shown as much skill in this era as the previous. Extremely in demand, he has traveled all over the world to battle top competition such as Pat Stay, Matter, Cortez, and Cruger, to name only a few. A fan favorite in King of the Dot, The Saurus has appeared in the Canadian league many times, and is now back to take on one of his toughest opponents yet in DNA, at Vengeance 2.
DNA is proof that age does not necessarily reflect skill level. One of the youngest battlers in the game today, the New York City battle rapper has already reached a level that many battlers spend their whole career attempting to reach. Getting his start in the East Coast division of Grind Time, DNA started out battling tough opponents such as Rone and Loe Pesci. Having experienced tremendous growth over the years, the rising star has seen an increase in both his fanbase and his demand; with leagues all over the world requesting him for battles. Having recently returned from Don't Flop and with plans to travel to Australia to battle, DNA has marketed himself brilliantly and is now one of the most in demand battlers in the world. Most frequently seen on the URL stage, DNA is certainly the youngest battler to headline on a URL card. Apart from his URL battles, DNA is also a regular in King of the Dot, with classic performances against Dizaster and Eurgh. Mixing hard hitting bars with a venomous delivery, DNA is also one of the best freestylers battling today. Taking on The Saurus in what is one of the most requested matches of all time, DNA is returning to KOTD for the third time to feature in this main event battle from Vengeance 2.

CoMing back and rewatching a lot of battles I always fast forwarded right to the battle.. this time I’m actually watching the pre battle interviews and shit and it’s cool to hear what they say.. I miss the old days..
I'm Italian and I don't always get everything they spit but when I'm not sure I look at Organik's expression. When I see him making the face he had at 10:38 I know it was a seriously mad verse.

DNA has no weaknesses. His writtens, rebuttals, and freestyles are all great. He can out gangster rap a gangster...he can out wordplay an intellectual mc...I think he's probably the best in the world right now.

dope! both these guys got it in. Hard to pick a winner on this one, both had presentation, bars, lyrics, and both showed lots of class. Dope battle!
That crowd was asleep during every one of The Saurus's rounds. Almost all of his punchlines went over their heads.
If I had to pick a winner, DNA because of how hard he finished in round 3. Otherwise, both were solid.

Thesaurus came off VERY insecure here, talking throughout Dna's rounds. Thesaurus has really stepped up his pen game, but seriously dude, shut the fuck up when others are rapping.

Round 1 - Thesaurus
Bar for bar, punch after punch he easily. Not only did he predict DNA's angles he out bar'd the shit out of DNA with the same angles. His structure felt so much better and flow very clear with no bumps, awesome delivery.
Round 2 - Thesaurus
This round is closer but thesaurus edged it. Put both MC's rounds onto paper and thesaurus easily takes it. Pit eachothers delivery and i still have thesaurus over dna. With DNA spitting the hardest punches, bar after bar thesaurus put it on the WHOLE round.
Round 3 - Thesaurus
First time watching the vid i gave it to DNA. Watching over n over changed my mind. I have no qualms over anyone picking DNA this round but I urge you to listen carefully to both MC's. Delivery wise this is where DNA stepped up and had MUCH better presence than thesaurus (prolly due to thesaurus's lack of crowd reaction). It just sucks how DNA had to use a freakin 20 million bars to set up his punches otherwise it'd he would've taken this round.
Thesaurus's bars connected so flawlessly with his multis. I love it when he takes a battle seriously. DNA as usual, really knows how to hype up his bars before his punches. If they swapped their verse structures this would've been DNA by bodybag. Less setups (or hyping up) and more punches. THATS how battles should be won.
Awesome battle in the end. This battle deserved a WAY better crowd.

damn good battle. Both were on point. IMO first 2 rounds were close. I leaned more to The Saurus for both. 3rd round was FIRE. Both came strong. DNA was better in that round. Close 2-1. But this could go either way. Props!
