    A CV axle has flexible joints. Often, these joints wear out, or seize from contaminants due to the protective boot tearing open. A worn joint is prone to breakage, or other hazards. If your vehicle needs a new CV axle, install a quality TRQ axle that is engineered to your vehicle’s specifications. This video shows you how to install one in your 2000-2006 Chevy Tahoe.

    These axles can be pulled on the ground with the wheel on. All you have to do is pull the bottom bolt out of the shock remove the six 15 mm bolts from the inside of the axle and the 36 mm nut on the end of the axle. It will pull right out the bottom.

    I know this is a thousand years old but if I'm replacing axle and wheel bearing hub assembly, which one would you put on first when installing them? Should I do the wheel bearing first or axle first.... I was thinking do the wheel bearing first!

    I'd wrap the pry bar with a rag before using to hold the hub assembly on those stud threads or at least be very careful

    Do you need to have an alignment after this job?

      No- nothing you replaced is adjustable.

    My hub would not spin freely after installation. it turns 1/4 of a turn then stops and its very hard to pass that point. then turns free for another 1/4 of a turn then stops again. do you have any idea of what is causing it?

    Thanks for the great video but the sway bar link doesn't have to come out

    • @robertmedina6875
      @robertmedina6875 3 года назад +3

      Sway bar link doesn't have to come out to sunbolt the axle and then slide it out and Slide the new one in most likely if you take the sway bar link apart it's going to break especially in the Rust Belt states

    On my 2000 GMC 1500 I no way had to remove the link. 1 big 36mm nut and 6 15mm bolts. Out with the old and in with the new...30 minutes. But thanks for the video just the same.

    • @TRQ
      @TRQ  3 года назад +1

      +Crypto Currency thank you for your question. It is recommended to replace both sides of the axles since you will need an alignment any time you replace suspension parts.
