I completly agree with you! CW era 3 is out of control. All tactics and strategy are gone, and i have stopped to play it. I consider to go back to WWII again. Keep up the good work Riki!!!
100% agree with you RIKI & it’s really demotivating for players who grinded up all the way up to era 3 (which was some kind of honour to come those far ) & are playing now against those kind of tanks which every noob can yollo around with. In my opinion WG opened the pandora‘s box with the Thumper…hope they will hear your call RIKI & think about it. But as we know them, I believe they won‘t….
Agreed 100%! Tech tree tanks are almost completely worthless in era 3 now, why grind when you get blasted by the 477/292/Wiesel within the first 60 seconds anyway, no matter what you do
Agree, lining up a game with 3x477, 2x wiesels and several 298 on the enemy team and there are only 4 tecktree tanks combind on 2 teams its really no point of playing, just comit sueside and move to era2.
Absolutely agree. I am a more ok with the craziness of some of the OP tanks than the setup that results in 3/4 of games just being which ever team can execute the best lemming rush. When era 3 is doing that it is just unplayable. Though they should really make some adjustment to the 477 though, that or some era 3 heavies should also almost no frontal weak points. I am sure that would be even worse so instead they should give the 477 some kind of frontal weak points. Fixing the weasel seems pretty simple to me, basically missiles should have an arming range like real missiles.
I enjoyed this game in the beginning because of the strategic thinking needed to do well, the different types of tanks and the roles they played on the team and the novel sight mechanics. It was a very challenging game to learn which intrigued me. The game has just gotten faster and faster with no thinking involved and is becoming just another twitch reflex online game.
I hate it because it feels like yolo packing ALL THE TIME !!! Even in era 1 and 2. Not to mention era 1 with around 6 lights on each team. I really agree with you about all your points, especially the maps FOR ALL ERAS !!! A cap should be placed on the number of premiums per battle. That's the only way I can think of solving the problem.
I could rant and rave against the Object 477 all day. Utterly disgusting for WG to put such an overtly OP vehicle in Era 3. Yeah, it may have a couple of weak spots, but the gameplay is so fast in Era 3 that you can’t properly aim in on those weak spots to get an accurate shot. Also the fact that the auto-cannon can pen a heavy tank from the front! RIDICULOUS!!! 🤬🤦♂️😡
It takes a good player to make the Weisel work well. 477A can work for anyone as long as you keep your front toward enemy. Missiles and HE can hurt it, but not every tank in CW carries those. The point is that it usually takes team effort to take out those two tanks. One-on-one, they’re OP.
@@wojSciborI have a 477 a Wiesel and a Jaguar. The 477 has a bad gun and getting large damage games is inconsistent. The Wiesel ain't great either. The jaguar is a banger though. I have over 40k battles, 3600+wn8 and 8 years of experience.
I've always made the comparison with Era 3 and tier 1-4 gameplay. Basically everyone runs around like chickens with no heads and just Rb-Rts everything they see. No use of armor and skill, just charge and shoot. Everything goes above 60km and like you said, tanks like the 477 and the 292 just lead charges since they dont care about tactics and the rest of the team follows them
Its been close to 3 years since 6.0 came out, and we are still missing how many maps? Why did wargaming think the way they went about it was okay at all, look how long the gane has been out for!! In a couple of months it'll be 10 years for consoles. I believe we just have truly incompetent devs on our hands. Period. Also, at this point the game may just be more or less getting to the point where it's just a cash grab, which would suck for us...
I think Era 3 gameplay legitimately reduces a player's attention span. If you play a ton of Era 3 games and then suddenly start playing WW2 you will probably end up doing horribly

I've received all the season pass era 3s. But had never reached era 3, so decided not to play them until I'd reached era 3 on my tech tree line. After reaching the Leopard 2, I've started era 3 and it reminds me of when I started out. Its all about hard and fast bumper cars with big guns.
Totally agree. I've researched the Russian and German lines to one tank before last (2A4 and T-72BM) and then the 477A arrived on top of the Wiesel. I own the 292, but there is no joy in playing Era 3 anymore. To me, the last balanced premium in Era 3 was the Thumper, it was just about the perfect vehicle. Era 3 is gone beyond repair in my opinion.
Thank you, this video has put in words what I have been struggling with for a while I used to enjoy era 3 but it is for a average player who does not have these premiums and it is now unplayable or not enjoyable. You can play well but any of these tanks will and currently do ignore all logic. When you need 3 or more tanks to destroy 1 tank it's op and broken. I feel this needs address because I feel it is not balanced and there is no point bringing new tank lines because era 3 in the French tanks sucked especially when they released the 477
I would say the Peace Sells is the best premium WG has ever introduced, like Riki said, the Peace Sells does everything a premium should, a great tank; but it is still worse than the tech tree version which is what they should be. I like my Peace Sells so much that after 105 battles I have just 4th marked it. Loved this tank. I also took down 2 full health 292's in a duo in this tank so it is very capable, I have a video of it whilst I was 4 marking.
@@robdunnett1258 That's what makes it a great fun tank, knowing that you can't just sit out in the open bouncing shells like some other premiums. You actually have to be engaged to play this tank correctly.

Agreed and well said. However WG have been moving this way even before Downgrade 6.0. New Season? New OP tank. The list is just getting longer. It's not an accidental either. From a company planning viewpoint this is all part of some WG "Grand Design". No amount of player feedback has altered this plan. Look at the extreme lengths WG has implemented to avoid "nerfing" the PZ. V/IV. The buffed low Tier tanks hit points just to keep to the plan. New season? New smoke/distractions/medals/strange OP's, anything to take players attention on the long term plan. Sadly items such as player satisfaction, game play, player retention are probably not part of the "Grand Design". So far it looks like it.
We can now customize our garage, something which does nothing to increase the quality of the gameplay. And yet that’s the kind of thing Wargaming spends it’s time and resources on.
I sent wargaming a support ticket bitching about the light tank “balloon” physics - I see it all the time, maps being too small in Cold War especially Era 3, and how they could fix the Wiesel TOW after watching your video. They could fix the Wiesel TOW by simply making the mechanics realistic. The TOW missile is wire guided. I’ve never been a TOW gunner, but I’ve never seen one fired on the move - there are plenty of videos out there demonstrating their use. Requiring the player to remain motionless or have a high chance of missing while the missile is in flight would go a long way toward eliminating the OP issue.
I haven't touched WoTC in almost a month now, I noticed all of these problems when I stopped. I kept getting told by people in the clan that it wasn't that big of a deal, that you just need to play better... I got tired of it and stopped, I'm glad that your seeing these problems and making a video on it Riki. Still love your clan, but man did that get old after a while.
Why I'm back hanging out in ww2 mid tiers again got fed up of all the BS in tier 10 & CW All these overpowered premiums ain't aimed at the veteran/mature players (are there even that many of us left lol) it's aimed at the 10yr olds with mummy's credit card, got to make it over powered & easy to play so they buy another one
Fully agree with you, Era 3 is unplayable actualy. Another point you didn't mention : Era 3 is the only Era where tank categories are totally useless, Lights are useless, medium too, classics TD do not scare anyone, they totally broke this Era in my opinion. You forgot Jaguar as new Era 3 premium, but it's less OP than Wiesel and 477, 2 tanks who should be hardly reworked... And nerfed !
The way I see it, and not that I agree with it, these premiums are there to allow newer players who do not have any tanking experience, to be competitive with the current player base and allow them to have fun. Because for WG, new players having fun = $$$. Then while these new players are still having fun, they release another premium hoping they would spend their money again. Veteran players may already have a lot of gold and a load of premium tanks just sitting in their garages, which doesn't make WG any money. They need to entice new people to play but unfortunately, like most other games, the core player base suffers. This is the same strategy used by other f2p titles.
Great video! Your points are spot on and I totally agree with you. In my honest opinion, playing premiums isn’t wrong. Having fun is all that matters in this game and doesn’t matter which tank you’re playing. However, WG did manage to make era 3 a very different place than before, and that’s kinda sad. The Thumper and Wiesel brought some needed changes to era 3, and I can accept that. But the Molot single-handedly ruined era 3, and in 3 weeks WG introduced the 292, Jaguar and the Peace Sells. These tanks and the molot were totally unnecessary and are somewhat game-breaking. Despite all that there’s still hope for era 3 if they stop adding more overpowered premiums and give the tanks a needed nerf. Thanks again for sharing!
Amen. Had just finished the m1a2 grind then Wiesel then 477a introduced. Don’t play era 3 much anymore. Skill doesn’t mean much with these op tanks in the game. I’m part of the shrinking player base too. Playing less bc less fun
Wargaming are not going to fix anything, they have totally got into the mindset that they can do no wrong. How many times do you hear Bam on stream saying " it's performing between 49 and 51%" Only once in a blue moon do they acknowledge any of the playerbase's concerns. Don't hold your breath waiting for any kind of response from WG, it will be a painful death!!
Agreed! I had the gold for the 477, but I didn’t want to be a part of this. Such an annoying tank to deal with. And now, everybody has the 292 and keep running everywhere non stop. I’m not playing era 3 anymore. 292 chases any light, no problem.
Good video Riki. I think the "cure" is to create ERA 4 where all these OP premiums can go and play together leaving Era 3 for the tech tree tanks. At the moment I can't see much reason for investing time (and huge amounts of credits) grinding past Era 2. Otherwise WG are going to have to nerf all these new premiums until they are more balanced and the only difference between them and TT tanks is the earning boost. BTW, in the first game all three tanks on the MVP screen were tech tree - go figure. As for the AVRE - just make the shovel on the front cosmetic and that should sort it out.

The 2 new object tanks in tier 3 are ridiculous every shot bounces. The weisel is ok.......now i got used to it. I had 3 against me last night in a magach7c, i killed one & damaged both the others (almost killing a 2nd kill) but i died. Was best game i've had ever, lots of fun even though i died.🤣chasing 3 weisels & dodging. I messaged the guy after to say GG. Got a nice reply. (Edit - forgot to mention 3 weisels doing death circles round you,firing missiles for 4mins ish not nice🤣 my crew has PTSD now)
The Tow is totally over powered, and in the real world one 120mm shot would kill it! Just got hit by one and shot him at least 30 times in my BMP III with my 30mm which should have shredded him… The 447 is another over powered ridiculously hard to kill new comer!
I played Tanks again for the first time last update…er…season, whatever they call it now…after a three year break…mostly playing Warships on console. It’s a pretty obvious distinction…Tanks battles are literally over in 2 or 3 minutes…now, you can tell in 2 or 3 minutes if a Warships battle is going to end in a win or loss, but you can still have an enjoyable battle. WG made Warships on console with +1/-1 matchmaking…they have two different sizes of each map depending on the tier of game (higher tier’s have larger maps…sometimes MUCH larger)…and the playstyle is typically more patient than in Tanks. I still enjoy Tanks now that they fixed all the horrors that came from Update 6.0, but yeah, it’s noticeable…YOLO seems to be the only way the vast majority of people play Tanks anymore.
I know this has been up for two days but I hope you're still reading the comments. These two tanks you've highlighted point to something seriously wrong with the game mechanics. WarGaming is either cheating on RNG or lying about the armor on these things. If you look at the plate thickness on the box that protects the breach and autoloader on the OBJ 477 in the armor viewer, you'll see that the thickest plate is 50mm. The rest of it is 40mm. I'm no expert but i know that since those side plates are vertical, gives it no added benefit from armor slope. What you see in the armor viewer is what you should get in the game. I also know that the weakest round fired by the lowliest tank in Era III ought to blow straight through both sides of that box and put the gun out of action. We have a similar problem with the Wiesel. It's plate is even thinner than the gun armor on the OBJ 477. It too should look like Swiss cheese by the time a battle is done, but I've actually had Wiesels bounce APFSDS shots off their rear ends. Every time you pen a Wiesel, you ought to kill a crew member or knock the engine out. The question is - why don't shots pen these things? I can only come up with two answers - either the hit skins on these tanks are putting up thicker armor than the armor viewer is showing us -OR- the RNG is seriously biased when it comes to evaluating penetration and damage outcomes for these tanks. Even if it is neither of these things, you are absolutely right to point out this discrepancy to WG. They can and they should fix it. No nerf required. Just fix the mechanics. Keep up the good work. I like the variety in the topics you cover.
I also play Weasle time to time, but whenever I see my lightamored weasel can ricochet AP, I doubt game mechanics actually working correctly. With such thin plate, every shot should penetrate or cause damage. I have no problem if it doesn’t have ricochet at all, I’d accept it for such overpowered tank. (Invisible, missile tank)
I was also thinking that if they made all the cold war tanks half the size, it would effectively double the size of all the maps. That would make it MUCH easier to flank around lemming trains, it would enable tanks to hide behind smaller terrain. It would prevent a lemming train from dominating 3/4 of the map. They also have to make it a much higher chance of being spotted when you launch a missile. The missiles also need to have a much longer arm-time. Wiesels can just joust and demolish any tank. The game is heading down a path where, should it continue, era 3 will be LITERALLY unplayable. Completely unbeatable prem tanks with 1k pen, one shot missiles, and invisible tanks.
In my opinion, there needs to be a hardcore mode. There is just to much HP, there is no fear of dieing right away if you make a dumb move. There is no sense of danger or risk at all. That's why it's yolo 24/7. It would be nice to be able to adjust hp in training rooms to test that out.
you are so right on every point, thats why i play era 1 or 2 its slight better era 3 is just mad to play now, but i miss the tanks like challenger 1 & 2 M1A2 etc there need to do something
It is not a recent thing though. It is just greed. WG wants to sell as many tanks as possible. And if they are broken or OP they sell easier. That is what matters. Fast profit. That ruines the game in the long run. And it is also the reason is why many experienced players have left. Also giving away a tier 10 or era 3 tank when you buy a season pass is never a good idea. It brings new players straight in to those matches, ruining the game even further for everyone. That is also WG’s fault, not the player who goes in to battle with no experience. That is why am glad not to have spent a penny on the game since the Valour season before 6.0. No changes from WG to fix the issues will mean, no money at all towards WG from my end.
The game is at the stage of its' lifecycle where the devs just want to cash in on whatever they can possibly sell. Not really a surprise to me - it's an inevitable stage. Update 6.0, or rather the way Update 6.0 was deployed was such a cataclysmic misstep, they inadvertently shaved years off the potential life of the game. The game is now is a "death-spiral" where they have to release broken high tier/era tanks to newer players to backfill the players who take a permanent "2 week break". Clearly, they can't release these broken tanks fast enough because every game is populated with more and more bots. This practice will continue. I'd imagine the next step is to combine the EU/NA servers, which will provide some relief for the matchmaker, but it will only be temporary. Numbers will continue to dwindle until there is only 2-3 thousand people playing and all development will stop.
I play mostly on weekends so I started playing CW for silvers, but era 3 is surreal, I don't remember the name of the tanks, it's one tiny tank with missiles and another one, no matter where you shoot (lower plates, sides, back etc) it's very hard to pen, because of those tanks i stop playing era 3.
The 477's armor is too good and the wiesel is WAY to stealthy and hard to hit. The wiesel also takes WAY WAY WAY too little ram damage. I rammed one with an m1a2 at top speed and did like 500 damage. It was like a train hitting a shopping cart. The shopping cart should have been atomized, but instead, it bounced off with a scratch. It then ammo-racked me. It should have been a oneshot ram. In addition, for a gokart with no armor, the wiesel has WAY too much HP and bounces far too many shots. The wiesel should be armor and HP equivalent to a t9-t10 light.
Quit playing Era 3 when they came out with the 477a. Between that and the Wiesel it was too much. I sold my era3 tanks and bought back my era 2 and 1 tanks. I even cashed out my Thumper and the 292 when I got it. Era 3 just isn’t as fun as 1 and 2.
i'd say the 292 is actually pretty balanced, as well as the wiesel tow. They require skill to take down but it is still relatively easy if you know what you're doing. I draw the line at the 477 and say that that is the absolute maximum in power levels they should release a tank.

I think you are correct, you should of made this video way sooner! Someone need to say the truth that WG decisions ruining this game and making tech tree vehicles obsolete. They are completely off the rails with high tier premium tanks.
WG needs to either limit the tanks per game, ie: only 1 or 2 477s, 292s, wiesels.. and no more than a combination of 4 of them. OR. We can have an era 4 where its only the OP tanks
Wargaming has a well-established habit of adding tanks that are not just challenging to play (something that is welcome), but are so OP that all matters of skill and tactics go out the window.
On the spot video 👏🏻 it’s frustrating, being in those „Bar Fight’s „ and getting butchered by players who don’t have a clue. I’m a below average player, and probably will need a long time to get better, because of the overpowered premium‘s. I’m absolutely am 100% the same opinion about the size of the map’s, if you have a tank that does 70 km/h you’re from one side of the map till the other side of the map in 40 seconds 🤷🏻 you just can’t run, regroup and launch a other attack. WWII is an option, or Era 1, and please don’t get me wrong and don’t ban me right away 😅, it’s a „hot potato „ I’m touching here … I don’t like to play WWII that much because of the viewing system 👷♂️ … Tanks that appear and disappear 🫥 Not so realistic. Sorry my opinion 🙏🏻 I hope Wargaming listens, and does some balancing. Tank You for this video 😊
I tend to agree. It’s a tough tank, but it isn’t invincible. I’ve played only three games in it, and I don’t like it. I’m going to give it a few more games though before I sell it.
Game manufacturers are so greedy. They throw new premium tanks batlefield at an accelerating pace. The more powerful tank whit good armour like the 477 sells like carbon monoxide. Greed is the biggest cancer in the wot game.
As a new player i totally agree with this. I very quickly concluded that whats the point of even putting the time into grinding out (god only knows how long it would take) a tech tree to get the tank you want, when the game is such a goat fuck...there are no tactics etc....just premium tanks mobbing one or two tanks then moving on to the next one. And the same damn maps over and over, im so sick of live oaks, fishermans bay, cao bang, etc....its like you only play 5 or 6 maps over and over and over....fuck this game, could have been great but its just a cluster fuck.
I don't know, I am not complaining! I don't have problems with 292. In fact I have been destroying 292 with my MBT 70 (with rockets and without as well). Just play smart and don't brawl with it. It has weak spots. With wiesel, YES! I agree with you 100%. It is almost impossible to catch that little bastard!
The over powered-ness of the high tier premiums in the last year or so has led me to start selling some of my higher tier tech tree tanks, as they just can’t compete anymore, and to stop proceeding up the lines I haven’t finished. I rarely play T10 in WW2 anymore either, it’s just not worth it. I’m finding the fun factor is at Era 2 in CW & Tiers 6-8 in WW2. Note to WG: if the premiums you are releasing make players NOT want to grind the perceived inferior tanks in the tech trees, your game is in trouble. The game is quickly becoming World of Wallets, instead of World of Tanks: Unless you have the money to shell out for a premium (which a lot of people don’t), you will not do consistently well in just the tech tree tanks. I’m wondering if one or more of the CC’s ought not to call for a boycott of Era 3. Just an idea.
I couldn’t agree more . I’ve taken so many breaks from the game since the weasel , 477 , and these other OP tanks . You get Bam saying well if you can’t beat them , join them . Right on Bam thats a good solution . Everyone responding here has seen every last bit of this mess . You use discord and tell these war gaming folks your issues , and your given even more lame responses “ Well sometimes you feast and sometimes your the feast . Now to clarify I call those the steam roll matches , where one team blows the other team so far off the map . You know the 14 to zero results , and the other team has the same players as the last 4 or 5 matches where you had your butt handed to you . Now I know you might be saying thats not the topic , but it is !! You look at the other team and they have 3 of the 477’s and a couple weasels and your team has 1 of the 477’s and 2 weasels . You can predict who is going to have their butts handed to them . Especially if the other team has a few heavy hitters from top clans . War gaming is doing nothing to make it a fair shot at victory , and doing everything to make the matches one sided with OP tanks and a imbalance of OP tanks on one team . They want more matches per hour , but the quality of the matches keep dropping . It’s like how it was said , you walk away from some of these matches feeling like it was a very empty victory . You don’t walk away feeling like you really earned that win as often as you used to , I certainly don’t , I get a spot of the winners podium , and my team only lost 4 tanks , I don’t enjoy that . How often do you really watch till the last tank is destroyed thinking dang that was a clutch game . I think this is one better , how often do you see a weasel be down facing 5 tanks or more and bring home the win . I realize you may not see many of those , but can you really think of another tank that dominates as much as the weasel or 477 in era 3 .
I understand that some of the new tanks are op but as a player that's been playing 9 years be happy that WG are giving these type of tanks out compared to what they use to give out like some of the tank bowl tanks. I've watched a pattern through the year's when any new tank comes out it's either junk or op. I'm just happy WG keeps evolving a 9 year old game. Look at Gta 5 online how it turned to crap or rdr2 online how rockstar let it dye.
I've got to be honest. Apart from the 477 I am not to bothered. I've been playing over 10 years and remember face palming about how weak the panthers gun was😂. I enjoy cw. I can deal with everything apart from the 477. The pack mentality is just tank warfare at its core really. Overwhelming push in one spit and decimate. As long as the game at its base has hit points and health, pack will win. Regardless of what map. The only way would be to introduce a realistic mode and that's not going to happen.
I started playing Era 3 when Thumper came out. Soon enough Wiesel was added and the shitshow unfurled. I just play Era 2 and 1. Era 1 seems to be the most balanced in the ENTIRE game. Even more so than WW2.
The only reason I play Era 3 anymore is because I'm on the final upgrades to the Leclerc . Other than that I'm spend the vast majority of my game time in era 1 & 2. 3 is absolutely ruined. This is NOT a more challenging era as War Gaming might think it is. Those tank you have mentioned have completely dominated tech tree tanks. I hate and I mean that 477 and Weasil. Nothing but a pay to win cash grab by War Gaming.
The second era is also heavily unbalanced. Too many light tanks and missiles. Overall, this is all heading in the wrong direction. If we add the poor level of most players combined with pathological draws, we have a recipe for disaster. WG doesn't learn from mistakes.
The reason why I stopped playing era 3 started to go back to ww2.It's a bit late to complain now player's been complaining about those tanks for ages and most cc say nothing.
Add the Ruthless into this conversation now. Not necessarily broken but there’s just way too many tanks doing 1k+ damage. FV215b 183, FV4005, Taran, Jg.Pz.E 100, Ruthless, Sturmtiger, and the AVRE. Makes playing WWII annoying and frustrating

WOT is balancing players, not tanks. I believe that is the goal and it has been accomplished with providing strong tanks to those who are not unicoms. This way the majority of players can play well using the overpowered tanks against the well educated and accomplished player. It's about money and increasing the player base.

Absolutely agree. I am a more ok with the craziness of some of the OP tanks than the setup that results in 3/4 of games just being which ever team can execute the best lemming rush. When era 3 is doing that it is just unplayable. Though they should really make some adjustment to the 477 though, that or some era 3 heavies should also almost no frontal weak points. I am sure that would be even worse so instead they should give the 477 some kind of frontal weak points. Fixing the weasel seems pretty simple to me, basically missiles should have an arming range like real missiles.
I enjoyed this game in the beginning because of the strategic thinking needed to do well, the different types of tanks and the roles they played on the team and the novel sight mechanics. It was a very challenging game to learn which intrigued me. The game has just gotten faster and faster with no thinking involved and is becoming just another twitch reflex online game.
I hate it because it feels like yolo packing ALL THE TIME !!! Even in era 1 and 2. Not to mention era 1 with around 6 lights on each team. I really agree with you about all your points, especially the maps FOR ALL ERAS !!! A cap should be placed on the number of premiums per battle. That's the only way I can think of solving the problem.
I could rant and rave against the Object 477 all day. Utterly disgusting for WG to put such an overtly OP vehicle in Era 3. Yeah, it may have a couple of weak spots, but the gameplay is so fast in Era 3 that you can’t properly aim in on those weak spots to get an accurate shot. Also the fact that the auto-cannon can pen a heavy tank from the front! RIDICULOUS!!! 🤬🤦♂️😡
No HEAT or HE on some tanks.
Also, Molot travels 75kms/hr. Getting behind it is not always an option.

It takes a good player to make the Weisel work well. 477A can work for anyone as long as you keep your front toward enemy. Missiles and HE can hurt it, but not every tank in CW carries those. The point is that it usually takes team effort to take out those two tanks. One-on-one, they’re OP.

@@wojSciborI have a 477 a Wiesel and a Jaguar. The 477 has a bad gun and getting large damage games is inconsistent. The Wiesel ain't great either. The jaguar is a banger though. I have over 40k battles, 3600+wn8 and 8 years of experience.
I've always made the comparison with Era 3 and tier 1-4 gameplay. Basically everyone runs around like chickens with no heads and just Rb-Rts everything they see. No use of armor and skill, just charge and shoot. Everything goes above 60km and like you said, tanks like the 477 and the 292 just lead charges since they dont care about tactics and the rest of the team follows them
Its been close to 3 years since 6.0 came out, and we are still missing how many maps? Why did wargaming think the way they went about it was okay at all, look how long the gane has been out for!! In a couple of months it'll be 10 years for consoles. I believe we just have truly incompetent devs on our hands. Period. Also, at this point the game may just be more or less getting to the point where it's just a cash grab, which would suck for us...

The 292 isn't too bad it's pretty easy to kill. But the 477 is definitely overpowered
I think Era 3 gameplay legitimately reduces a player's attention span. If you play a ton of Era 3 games and then suddenly start playing WW2 you will probably end up doing horribly

I've received all the season pass era 3s. But had never reached era 3, so decided not to play them until I'd reached era 3 on my tech tree line. After reaching the Leopard 2, I've started era 3 and it reminds me of when I started out. Its all about hard and fast bumper cars with big guns.
Totally agree. I've researched the Russian and German lines to one tank before last (2A4 and T-72BM) and then the 477A arrived on top of the Wiesel. I own the 292, but there is no joy in playing Era 3 anymore. To me, the last balanced premium in Era 3 was the Thumper, it was just about the perfect vehicle. Era 3 is gone beyond repair in my opinion.

Thank you, this video has put in words what I have been struggling with for a while I used to enjoy era 3 but it is for a average player who does not have these premiums and it is now unplayable or not enjoyable. You can play well but any of these tanks will and currently do ignore all logic. When you need 3 or more tanks to destroy 1 tank it's op and broken. I feel this needs address because I feel it is not balanced and there is no point bringing new tank lines because era 3 in the French tanks sucked especially when they released the 477

I would say the Peace Sells is the best premium WG has ever introduced, like Riki said, the Peace Sells does everything a premium should, a great tank; but it is still worse than the tech tree version which is what they should be. I like my Peace Sells so much that after 105 battles I have just 4th marked it. Loved this tank.
I also took down 2 full health 292's in a duo in this tank so it is very capable, I have a video of it whilst I was 4 marking.
Agree with you, the Peace Sells is a lot of fun, but not invulnerable, you’ll get wrecked quickly if you don’t play it right.
@@robdunnett1258 That's what makes it a great fun tank, knowing that you can't just sit out in the open bouncing shells like some other premiums. You actually have to be engaged to play this tank correctly.

Agreed and well said. However WG have been moving this way even before Downgrade 6.0. New Season? New OP tank. The list is just getting longer. It's not an accidental either. From a company planning viewpoint this is all part of some WG "Grand Design". No amount of player feedback has altered this plan. Look at the extreme lengths WG has implemented to avoid "nerfing" the PZ. V/IV. The buffed low Tier tanks hit points just to keep to the plan. New season? New smoke/distractions/medals/strange OP's, anything to take players attention on the long term plan. Sadly items such as player satisfaction, game play, player retention are probably not part of the "Grand Design". So far it looks like it.
We can now customize our garage, something which does nothing to increase the quality of the gameplay. And yet that’s the kind of thing Wargaming spends it’s time and resources on.
I sent wargaming a support ticket bitching about the light tank “balloon” physics - I see it all the time, maps being too small in Cold War especially Era 3, and how they could fix the Wiesel TOW after watching your video.
They could fix the Wiesel TOW by simply making the mechanics realistic. The TOW missile is wire guided. I’ve never been a TOW gunner, but I’ve never seen one fired on the move - there are plenty of videos out there demonstrating their use. Requiring the player to remain motionless or have a high chance of missing while the missile is in flight would go a long way toward eliminating the OP issue.
Not only that but the tow has a roughly 65 meter arming distance so no shot gunning Weasels running around.
I haven't touched WoTC in almost a month now, I noticed all of these problems when I stopped. I kept getting told by people in the clan that it wasn't that big of a deal, that you just need to play better... I got tired of it and stopped, I'm glad that your seeing these problems and making a video on it Riki. Still love your clan, but man did that get old after a while.

Another point you didn't mention : Era 3 is the only Era where tank categories are totally useless, Lights are useless, medium too, classics TD do not scare anyone, they totally broke this Era in my opinion.
You forgot Jaguar as new Era 3 premium, but it's less OP than Wiesel and 477, 2 tanks who should be hardly reworked... And nerfed !

The way I see it, and not that I agree with it, these premiums are there to allow newer players who do not have any tanking experience, to be competitive with the current player base and allow them to have fun. Because for WG, new players having fun = $$$. Then while these new players are still having fun, they release another premium hoping they would spend their money again. Veteran players may already have a lot of gold and a load of premium tanks just sitting in their garages, which doesn't make WG any money. They need to entice new people to play but unfortunately, like most other games, the core player base suffers. This is the same strategy used by other f2p titles.

In my honest opinion, playing premiums isn’t wrong. Having fun is all that matters in this game and doesn’t matter which tank you’re playing. However, WG did manage to make era 3 a very different place than before, and that’s kinda sad. The Thumper and Wiesel brought some needed changes to era 3, and I can accept that. But the Molot single-handedly ruined era 3, and in 3 weeks WG introduced the 292, Jaguar and the Peace Sells. These tanks and the molot were totally unnecessary and are somewhat game-breaking.
Despite all that there’s still hope for era 3 if they stop adding more overpowered premiums and give the tanks a needed nerf.

Amen. Had just finished the m1a2 grind then Wiesel then 477a introduced. Don’t play era 3 much anymore. Skill doesn’t mean much with these op tanks in the game. I’m part of the shrinking player base too. Playing less bc less fun

Wargaming are not going to fix anything, they have totally got into the mindset that they can do no wrong. How many times do you hear Bam on stream saying " it's performing between 49 and 51%"
Only once in a blue moon do they acknowledge any of the playerbase's concerns.

Good video Riki. I think the "cure" is to create ERA 4 where all these OP premiums can go and play together leaving Era 3 for the tech tree tanks. At the moment I can't see much reason for investing time (and huge amounts of credits) grinding past Era 2. Otherwise WG are going to have to nerf all these new premiums until they are more balanced and the only difference between them and TT tanks is the earning boost. BTW, in the first game all three tanks on the MVP screen were tech tree - go figure. As for the AVRE - just make the shovel on the front cosmetic and that should sort it out.

The weisel is ok.......now i got used to it. I had 3 against me last night in a magach7c, i killed one & damaged both the others (almost killing a 2nd kill) but i died.

The Tow is totally over powered, and in the real world one 120mm shot would kill it! Just got hit by one and shot him at least 30 times in my BMP III with my 30mm which should have shredded him… The 447 is another over powered ridiculously hard to kill new comer!

I played Tanks again for the first time last update…er…season, whatever they call it now…after a three year break…mostly playing Warships on console. It’s a pretty obvious distinction…Tanks battles are literally over in 2 or 3 minutes…now, you can tell in 2 or 3 minutes if a Warships battle is going to end in a win or loss, but you can still have an enjoyable battle.
WG made Warships on console with +1/-1 matchmaking…they have two different sizes of each map depending on the tier of game (higher tier’s have larger maps…sometimes MUCH larger)…and the playstyle is typically more patient than in Tanks.
I still enjoy Tanks now that they fixed all the horrors that came from Update 6.0, but yeah, it’s noticeable…YOLO seems to be the only way the vast majority of people play Tanks anymore.
I know this has been up for two days but I hope you're still reading the comments. These two tanks you've highlighted point to something seriously wrong with the game mechanics. WarGaming is either cheating on RNG or lying about the armor on these things.
If you look at the plate thickness on the box that protects the breach and autoloader on the OBJ 477 in the armor viewer, you'll see that the thickest plate is 50mm. The rest of it is 40mm. I'm no expert but i know that since those side plates are vertical, gives it no added benefit from armor slope. What you see in the armor viewer is what you should get in the game. I also know that the weakest round fired by the lowliest tank in Era III ought to blow straight through both sides of that box and put the gun out of action. We have a similar problem with the Wiesel. It's plate is even thinner than the gun armor on the OBJ 477. It too should look like Swiss cheese by the time a battle is done, but I've actually had Wiesels bounce APFSDS shots off their rear ends. Every time you pen a Wiesel, you ought to kill a crew member or knock the engine out.
The question is - why don't shots pen these things? I can only come up with two answers - either the hit skins on these tanks are putting up thicker armor than the armor viewer is showing us -OR- the RNG is seriously biased when it comes to evaluating penetration and damage outcomes for these tanks. Even if it is neither of these things, you are absolutely right to point out this discrepancy to WG. They can and they should fix it. No nerf required. Just fix the mechanics.

I also play Weasle time to time, but whenever I see my lightamored weasel can ricochet AP, I doubt game mechanics actually working correctly. With such thin plate, every shot should penetrate or cause damage. I have no problem if it doesn’t have ricochet at all, I’d accept it for such overpowered tank. (Invisible, missile tank)
I was also thinking that if they made all the cold war tanks half the size, it would effectively double the size of all the maps. That would make it MUCH easier to flank around lemming trains, it would enable tanks to hide behind smaller terrain. It would prevent a lemming train from dominating 3/4 of the map. They also have to make it a much higher chance of being spotted when you launch a missile. The missiles also need to have a much longer arm-time. Wiesels can just joust and demolish any tank. The game is heading down a path where, should it continue, era 3 will be LITERALLY unplayable. Completely unbeatable prem tanks with 1k pen, one shot missiles, and invisible tanks.
In my opinion, there needs to be a hardcore mode. There is just to much HP, there is no fear of dieing right away if you make a dumb move. There is no sense of danger or risk at all. That's why it's yolo 24/7. It would be nice to be able to adjust hp in training rooms to test that out.

It is not a recent thing though. It is just greed. WG wants to sell as many tanks as possible. And if they are broken or OP they sell easier. That is what matters. Fast profit. That ruines the game in the long run. And it is also the reason is why many experienced players have left. Also giving away a tier 10 or era 3 tank when you buy a season pass is never a good idea. It brings new players straight in to those matches, ruining the game even further for everyone. That is also WG’s fault, not the player who goes in to battle with no experience.
That is why am glad not to have spent a penny on the game since the Valour season before 6.0.
No changes from WG to fix the issues will mean, no money at all towards WG from my end.
I feel the same. I’ve played 9 years, playing for a little fun here and there, but not as often as game isn’t that entertaining anymore.
The game is at the stage of its' lifecycle where the devs just want to cash in on whatever they can possibly sell. Not really a surprise to me - it's an inevitable stage. Update 6.0, or rather the way Update 6.0 was deployed was such a cataclysmic misstep, they inadvertently shaved years off the potential life of the game.
The game is now is a "death-spiral" where they have to release broken high tier/era tanks to newer players to backfill the players who take a permanent "2 week break". Clearly, they can't release these broken tanks fast enough because every game is populated with more and more bots. This practice will continue. I'd imagine the next step is to combine the EU/NA servers, which will provide some relief for the matchmaker, but it will only be temporary. Numbers will continue to dwindle until there is only 2-3 thousand people playing and all development will stop.
It's kinda sad how when cold war first started you only had your tech tree tanks now they get out played by premium tanks n it's honestly fcked up
After the 277 I sold all my era 3. I only play era 2 now. Which still has its problems but not nearly the era 3 problems
I play mostly on weekends so I started playing CW for silvers, but era 3 is surreal, I don't remember the name of the tanks, it's one tiny tank with missiles and another one, no matter where you shoot (lower plates, sides, back etc) it's very hard to pen, because of those tanks i stop playing era 3.

The 477's armor is too good and the wiesel is WAY to stealthy and hard to hit. The wiesel also takes WAY WAY WAY too little ram damage. I rammed one with an m1a2 at top speed and did like 500 damage. It was like a train hitting a shopping cart. The shopping cart should have been atomized, but instead, it bounced off with a scratch. It then ammo-racked me. It should have been a oneshot ram. In addition, for a gokart with no armor, the wiesel has WAY too much HP and bounces far too many shots. The wiesel should be armor and HP equivalent to a t9-t10 light.
Yeah those high damage tanks need to be like the mbt-70 400 penetration. I actually have to try and hit a weak spot . And have no armor.
Quit playing Era 3 when they came out with the 477a. Between that and the Wiesel it was too much. I sold my era3 tanks and bought back my era 2 and 1 tanks. I even cashed out my Thumper and the 292 when I got it. Era 3 just isn’t as fun as 1 and 2.

i'd say the 292 is actually pretty balanced, as well as the wiesel tow. They require skill to take down but it is still relatively easy if you know what you're doing. I draw the line at the 477 and say that that is the absolute maximum in power levels they should release a tank.

Wargaming has a well-established habit of adding tanks that are not just challenging to play (something that is welcome), but are so OP that all matters of skill and tactics go out the window.

On the spot video 👏🏻 it’s frustrating, being in those „Bar Fight’s „ and getting butchered by players who don’t have a clue. I’m a below average player, and probably will need a long time to get better, because of the overpowered premium‘s. I’m absolutely am 100% the same opinion about the size of the map’s, if you have a tank that does 70 km/h you’re from one side of the map till the other side of the map in 40 seconds 🤷🏻 you just can’t run, regroup and launch a other attack.

I don’t think the obj 292 is overpowered, it got no armor and it have a low gun depression , maybe the others are but I think the obj 292 is balanced.
I tend to agree. It’s a tough tank, but it isn’t invincible. I’ve played only three games in it, and I don’t like it. I’m going to give it a few more games though before I sell it.
The problem is the insane mobility encouraging this yolo behavior. I don’t fear the tank, but it’s annoying.
Game manufacturers are so greedy. They throw new premium tanks batlefield at an accelerating pace. The more powerful tank whit good armour like the 477 sells like carbon monoxide. Greed is the biggest cancer in the wot game.
As a new player i totally agree with this. I very quickly concluded that whats the point of even putting the time into grinding out (god only knows how long it would take) a tech tree to get the tank you want, when the game is such a goat fuck...there are no tactics etc....just premium tanks mobbing one or two tanks then moving on to the next one. And the same damn maps over and over, im so sick of live oaks, fishermans bay, cao bang, etc....its like you only play 5 or 6 maps over and over and over....fuck this game, could have been great but its just a cluster fuck.
I don't know, I am not complaining! I don't have problems with 292. In fact I have been destroying 292 with my MBT 70 (with rockets and without as well). Just play smart and don't brawl with it. It has weak spots. With wiesel, YES! I agree with you 100%. It is almost impossible to catch that little bastard!

The over powered-ness of the high tier premiums in the last year or so has led me to start selling some of my higher tier tech tree tanks, as they just can’t compete anymore, and to stop proceeding up the lines I haven’t finished. I rarely play T10 in WW2 anymore either, it’s just not worth it. I’m finding the fun factor is at Era 2 in CW & Tiers 6-8 in WW2. Note to WG: if the premiums you are releasing make players NOT want to grind the perceived inferior tanks in the tech trees, your game is in trouble. The game is quickly becoming World of Wallets, instead of World of Tanks: Unless you have the money to shell out for a premium (which a lot of people don’t), you will not do consistently well in just the tech tree tanks.
I’m wondering if one or more of the CC’s ought not to call for a boycott of Era 3. Just an idea.
I couldn’t agree more . I’ve taken so many breaks from the game since the weasel , 477 , and these other OP tanks . You get Bam saying well if you can’t beat them , join them . Right on Bam thats a good solution . Everyone responding here has seen every last bit of this mess . You use discord and tell these war gaming folks your issues , and your given even more lame responses “ Well sometimes you feast and sometimes your the feast . Now to clarify I call those the steam roll matches , where one team blows the other team so far off the map . You know the 14 to zero results , and the other team has the same players as the last 4 or 5 matches where you had your butt handed to you . Now I know you might be saying thats not the topic , but it is !! You look at the other team and they have 3 of the 477’s and a couple weasels and your team has 1 of the 477’s and 2 weasels . You can predict who is going to have their butts handed to them . Especially if the other team has a few heavy hitters from top clans . War gaming is doing nothing to make it a fair shot at victory , and doing everything to make the matches one sided with OP tanks and a imbalance of OP tanks on one team . They want more matches per hour , but the quality of the matches keep dropping . It’s like how it was said , you walk away from some of these matches feeling like it was a very empty victory . You don’t walk away feeling like you really earned that win as often as you used to , I certainly don’t , I get a spot of the winners podium , and my team only lost 4 tanks , I don’t enjoy that . How often do you really watch till the last tank is destroyed thinking dang that was a clutch game . I think this is one better , how often do you see a weasel be down facing 5 tanks or more and bring home the win . I realize you may not see many of those , but can you really think of another tank that dominates as much as the weasel or 477 in era 3 .
I understand that some of the new tanks are op but as a player that's been playing 9 years be happy that WG are giving these type of tanks out compared to what they use to give out like some of the tank bowl tanks. I've watched a pattern through the year's when any new tank comes out it's either junk or op. I'm just happy WG keeps evolving a 9 year old game. Look at Gta 5 online how it turned to crap or rdr2 online how rockstar let it dye.
I've got to be honest. Apart from the 477 I am not to bothered. I've been playing over 10 years and remember face palming about how weak the panthers gun was😂. I enjoy cw. I can deal with everything apart from the 477. The pack mentality is just tank warfare at its core really. Overwhelming push in one spit and decimate. As long as the game at its base has hit points and health, pack will win. Regardless of what map. The only way would be to introduce a realistic mode and that's not going to happen.

I started playing Era 3 when Thumper came out. Soon enough Wiesel was added and the shitshow unfurled. I just play Era 2 and 1.
Era 1 seems to be the most balanced in the ENTIRE game. Even more so than WW2.
477a is fucking so op I never play my thumper now cause I just match 477 and Wiesels era 3 is pain legit
Era 3 just feels broken cuz of op tanks especially when the 477a is still broken and also most tanks can't even deal with it
477 needs to be nerfed like crazy. Nothing pens the front, or the turret, or the sides accept for the rear of the tank.
The only reason I play Era 3 anymore is because I'm on the final upgrades to the Leclerc . Other than that I'm spend the vast majority of my game time in era 1 & 2.
3 is absolutely ruined. This is NOT a more challenging era as War Gaming might think it is. Those tank you have mentioned have completely dominated tech tree tanks. I hate and I mean that 477 and Weasil.
Nothing but a pay to win cash grab by War Gaming.
I definitely see the problem I don't play era 3 much but from what I've seen that yeah overpowered premium tanks. What's the point in grinding right??

The second era is also heavily unbalanced. Too many light tanks and missiles. Overall, this is all heading in the wrong direction. If we add the poor level of most players combined with pathological draws, we have a recipe for disaster. WG doesn't learn from mistakes.
The reason why I stopped playing era 3 started to go back to ww2.It's a bit late to complain now player's been complaining about those tanks for ages and most cc say nothing.
Add the Ruthless into this conversation now. Not necessarily broken but there’s just way too many tanks doing 1k+ damage. FV215b 183, FV4005, Taran, Jg.Pz.E 100, Ruthless, Sturmtiger, and the AVRE. Makes playing WWII annoying and frustrating
I understand what your saying but them still making the game and thay will ad tanks to conter 292 and 477a i been finding it hard to with 900 pen but them can be bounced tank and if we get bigger maps would be nice but players will be players and go were thay won’t not with the team mate
In theory a challenger 2 vs a 292 one on one. The challenger should always win. Faster reload against high alpha damage
It’s all about money mate. WG don’t give a single fuck about shrinking player’s base as long money is right. What’s the point of grinding M1A2 if you don’t have a chance against Object 477a. And it’s exactly like you said. It’s ridiculous.
WOT is balancing players, not tanks. I believe that is the goal and it has been accomplished with providing strong tanks to those who are not unicoms. This way the majority of players can play well using the overpowered tanks against the well educated and accomplished player.
It's about money and increasing the player base.
