Just a note eclipse… but you had silent driving as a skill on your light tank crew you showed. Light tanks do not benefit from that skill, so better to use something else that can improve your tanks camo or performance. Just so people don’t see that and use it. 👍
I always have camos on my light tanks. It's give you an additional boost to your camo. Also silent drive is a wasted skill on a light tank crew unless you use the on stealthy premium TDs like the E25 then it will benefit the TD.
Some of my favorite games have been in a bottom tier fast light tank, being the only scout in my team, with 3 artillery, in Prokarovca (sp). Getting the scout tank trifecta: Scout, Patrol Duty and Spotter. Initially, I had no map awareness and ended up getting killed early. Lately, I have really come to enjoy scouting. Marked target is an under appreciated skill that comes in very handy and helps in pulling up the assistance damage.
@@Cafeandrade When you reach the ridge that separates north and south, do not go over it. Do figure “8” laps, just spotting over the top. After one or two long laps like that, I’ll try to spot deeper if I think it’s safe. I do not focus much on shooting, as I will not be slowing down. Finally, I will risk spotting the 1-2 line all the way to the corner. Artillery and TD’s like to hide there, and if you spot them your team can hit them. Your 3 main skills will be Sixth sense, Recon and Marked Target, to improve your spotting. Next would be Brothers in arms and camo, followed by rapid loading. Hope that helps.
Solid guide but a few points that were off: - light tanks adopt the light mediums play style in the current - dumbed down meta. You will not get far relying on just your spotting, games are quick and in your face, spotting is less and less useful. I'm not saying it'll never work, but it will work 10% of the time compared to at least 80% back in the day... - 455m is the maximum spotting range. You will not be able to spot anyone beyond that. This is why you don't need to go past 480-500m. Yes, extra view range helps cut down camouflage of super stealthy tanks, but you'll be spotting those anyway if you're in the 480-500 region because on console camo in general and bush mechanics are whack - they do not fully work as intended. This is why if you're in a higher tier light which gets past 500 (most of them do) after putting on the view range skill, bia and food, you need to take off optics and improve the combat capabilities of your tank by adding vents (you should already have a rammer), which will also help out on view range loss and you won't lose the full 45-50m but rather 25-35 or so and still be in the 480-500 region. - camo net is worthless again because of the need to adopt a more medium like playstyle which means your gun's performance is way more important than adding a tiny bit of camouflage on when you're standing still (which in today's meta is basically never). Rammer is way better combined with optics if below 500 and vents if above and 3rd slot should be a vert stab (even though lights already have above average firing on the move in tiers 8 and above, a bit of extra won't hurt as you'll be firing on the move alot. - the skill to make you lose less camo while on the move is useless on lights as they do not lose camo while on the move at all - i believe that the extra camo from bushes as well as muffled shot also either don't work at all, or not as intended and I've found it's better to invest into some defensive skills to improve your survivability as you'll be skirmishing alot in the current meta, whether you play aggressively or not. - the dpm on light tanks is in general way worse than heavies and medium of equal tiers so you should never ever get into a trading match with anyone, only go all in when you know you'll win and it probably won't cost you too much hitpoints. - actual execution of the light medium playstyle varies from nation to nation, the hardest ones to get right being french and chinese imo, but sadly it's the way you need to go if you want to consistently have big games. Proof of the unavoidability of the light medium playstyle is in your first game, despite trying your best, and actually spotting a fair amount, your damage done was still 5 times greater than assisted which solidifies my point. All in all, in the current meta, light tanks are sadly basically just a harder to play medium tank with little to no armor, worse dpm but better effective view range thanks to their superior camouflage
You're incorrect on the vision. The current spotting distance is 445 meters. Being able to see beyond that is important because of camo factors. If another tank has a detectable range that is less than 445 meters, plus camo, then the amount over 445 meters comes into play. The game calcs the differences past 445 meters with the detectable range to allow better vision tanks to spot those better hidden tanks.
Unfortunately light tanks require your team to have a bit of a brain and hit things you light up, not hide on a ridge and watch you run around getting hit and worry about thier paint, I've got 3 marks of excellence on my tusk and sherridan mostly due to me durping things cause people be stupid
Great video. I definitely learn how to play the light tank better now I just have to learn to play the tier ix American light and I will be better. I mainly play heavies and TDs
Lights are heavily dependent on a willing and able team. I've just played a series of games in which my team mates were clumped together in our base for the whole game, except for us light drivers. Oh, except for one game. Then there were players who seemed to be under the impression that the point of the game is to cap. Guess what? Defeated every time. I wish people would watch videos like this and learn their fecking role in game
i do get how to passive/aggressive light. i much prefer active but im kinda crazy and just havin fun. apologies to any greens witness my self destructive style. gotta go fast
Perhaps a future upload about Lakeville, and if the cap is in the town please remind the team that 13 tanks shouldn’t all sit down the mountain pass holding hands singing kumbaya while letting me in a 57 heavy and one light tank try and get to the cap that’s already been taken by 7 of the enemy and by the time I get there I have 13 seconds to try and reset the cap. Not a good day :(
Easy, put drive train, and traction system and throw fuel on your SPGs and actually have usable mobility to pair with your additional HP to actually be able to move to different locations and ACTUALLY be able to hit stuff on most maps Example: m53/m55 stock with all of these 3 above can go from a base of 56 to an apex of 68 KPH which is a 12 KPH increase along with a decent boost in horsepower (over 35) its nothing too bonkers but imo it's significantly better than camo net or optics or some other thing. Do note these are % based so slower SPGs won't be getting 10+ kph boosts. But even on slower SPGs you can reasonably expect around 6-10 kph increases with various horsepower bonuses
Im playing a lot the toy tank mode like 100 games per day, and I didn't get free xp, now I have millions of silver, lots of boosters but not a single bit of free xp. What i have to do to get some?
Lol eclipse Westfield stop going to the north. Play the middle between the north hill and the south hill. You spot them crossing to the south and farm. North is literally usless. Maybe if its heavy and arty heavy but thats it G7 allllllll day, its the best light map /spot in the game
@@rorixdragonblade8480 I'm not saying fire premium, I'm saying the quality of the player base has diminished to where player automatically throw premium instead of aiming for weak points.
And that's an extension of the problem where tanks with frontal weak points are being buffed to the point where the only option to pen from the front is premium rounds. Why bother aiming for the lower plate of the badger when you can pen the front with heat while auto aiming
As a day one player your light tank battle information is helpful but your loadouts and crew skills are flawed and there still a handful of tactics you dont mention or note. You have silent driver thats intended for meds and TD, light tanks cant benifit from it. No camos that give +4% camo which is a priority, Sixth sense should always be the first perk, no usefulness of bush tactics, no use of the handbrake which expands the versatility especially rear turreted lights for back up spotting and firingif u have run and gun and arms 0 need for stabilizer, no prem fuel, also zero marks so i wouldn't really trust the edvice that is honestly basic and common sense. Ive marked every single nations light tank from every nation i have i could honestly teach you some pointers.
LOL. WG are stacking the game against you with secret damage nerfs etc. You think anything you do makes a difference? All the game rewards now is pay-to-win. Such a shame that the game is so bad now purely down to poor dev decisions.
So many lemons that just follow. Don't even look at map just go one way. Don't think no tanks gone the other way just keep being lemons. Had enough. Ur wasting ur time.

Good light tank players are the most annoying to play against :)

Good info on what I think is the most important tank class in the game.
Well with wheelie boys coming soon might as well sell your light tanks
Only half kidding
current lights will be re-classed as CD (clown destroyers. lookin forward to the challenge. i will play my light to counter the wheelies

Why are you using Silent Driving on a light tank?

"Stop playing wrong" about as much a waste of a title as "Stop firing gold rounds" tank gameplay rewards autoaiming and switching to gold ammo.
What
slightly disagree. rarely fire prem unless i NEED it cause ap is generally better. if more realized how much of a waste it really is spamming prem
