- Kishi Bashi plays "In Fantasia" live in concert in front of a sold-out crowd at August Hall in San Francisco, California on June 12, 2019. The song originally appeared on Kishi Bashi's 2014 album Lighght (pronounced Light). Joining him onstage were Nick Ogawa (cello), Kathryn Koch (violin), Pip the Pansy (flute and keyboards), Mike Savino (bass), Dave Kirslis (guitar), and Ryan Oslance (drums).

I really love this music,, its like poetry and it has those haunting tones....love it a lot. Do all of Kishi Bashi's songs sound like this?
Hi Ogundijo, he used to do more songs with looping like this, but I still think his newer music is beautiful and haunting in its own way. His last album, Omoiyari, is inspired by stories from the Japanese internment camps in the US during World War II. Violin Tsunami will remind you a bit of this In Fantasia song. My favorite is Summer of '42, a beautiful love song set in one of the camps. I read comments too and learned it was something about concentration camps. I'm about to go download the whole "Omoiyari" album rn
