Questioner: you think you can still win?
Tiger: Absolutely
Last year he was saying he'd play "just majors" and not much more. Now he's talking about 1 tournament per month if all goes well this week. I have NEVER doubted him and won't ever until he tells us that he can't win anymore.
He found PEDs and I’m loving it
@@GolfnHigh 90% of top end athletes are on something I believe
@@GolfnHighfound? Ya 20 years ago
He will avoid playing all the hilly courses, except for Augusta. Just watch
@@GolfnHighgot them good peptides and alllll the stem cells and Mexican supplements! Ey whatever it takes lol
I know it was awhile ago, but *imagine* being the surgeon who’s operating on freaking Tiger Woods knowing you have the potential to revive or snuff out the greatest golfer ever’s career. That’s pressure idk if even Tiger himself has felt
Quick Disclosure:
1. Tiger is playing for HISTORY! Nothing more, nothing less.
2. He wants the all-time win record AND wouldn’t mind adding a major or two along the way IF things were to fall into place.
3. Tiger LOVES THE GAME!
4. His Competitive Juices are percolating and he’s ready to feel the nerves again.
I say, let’s sit back and enjoy the greatest player of all time.
You can argue Jack is the greatest major winner, BUT he isn’t the greatest player.
I’ve never seen anyone dominate the game like TW.
👍👌
and, most importantly, Tiger will NEVER win another major and almost a certainty, will never win another tournament.
I can’t help feel sad to see Tiger Woods coming to the end of his career. He has been the main topic of conversation amongst my work friends and golf friends for the past 26 years. For golf courses forced to design courses around Tiger so he wouldn’t win by 12 stroke every tournament, and the records Tiger has achieved in todays game, with all the new equipment, coaching, technology, and millions more people playing the game, his records will never be done again which in my eyes, makes him the greatest athlete to walk the planet earth. Thank you Tiger Woods.
The whole “they had to change courses for him” simply isn’t true, he never even lead the tour in driving distance, not once. The reason courses got longer was the change from balata golf balls to solid core golf balls that obviously go dramatically longer, straighter, are effected by the wind much less, spin less and don’t balloon as much, etc. along with average driver shafts getting longer equaling more distance and club heads getting bigger with higher MOIs which made the already straighter golf balls got even straighter on miss hits. Etc. it was the equipment that changed the courses.
@@TheWedgeWizard 🤣🤣🤣🤣 okay there wedge hack with all the vids posted online haha comical.
Yep they called it Tiger Proofing the courses, started after his first Masters victory.
@@matthewboiser2570 yet you can’t name a single thing I said that isn’t fact. Very typical of someone who has no idea what they’re talking about . Here’s an article written with quotes from Augusta’s chairman and Jack Nicklaus about the issue. They both seem to say the exact same thing as me and disagree with Matty. Also why are they still making it harder if tiger is no longer in contention?
“Augusta National made major course changes in 1999 that became known as "Tiger-proofing" because of the way Tiger Woods blitzed the course in the 1997 Masters.
Yet, when Augusta National announced sweeping alterations to the par 4s for next year, Woods's name barely came up. If anything, the course will be "Sluman-proofed."
Augusta National Chairman William "Hootie" Johnson mentioned Jeff Sluman's name several times as an example of why the par 4s need to be tougher. And Sluman did not even play in this year's Masters.
Still, he was a factor. Or more specifically, what Sluman is able to do with his new Titleist Pro VI golf ball is a factor.
The proposed changes at Augusta brought the golf ball debate to the forefront once again. Since changing to the Titleist Pro VI, Sluman has seen his driving distance increase from 263 yards last year, 168th overall, to 277 yards this year, tying him for 61st.
It's the ball and the equipment," Johnson said. "Jeff Sluman was regarded as a short hitter and now he is approaching being a long hitter. . . . If Jeff is doing that, then Tom Lehman is doing it better."
As a result, players barely have to reach for anything under a 7-iron when playing a par 4 at Augusta. Fred Couples noted he hit a sand wedge into the par-4, 405-yard 18th hole this year. He used to hit a 7- or 8-iron.
"I think the ball is a huge deal," Couples said. "If they would tone this ball down, it would make a huge difference."
The mention of the changes at Augusta gave Jack Nicklaus reason to jump on his favorite soapbox. He fears the golf ball is making the great golf courses obsolete, even Augusta National.Pretty soon, we'll be teeing off downtown somewhere," Nicklaus said. "It's absurd. It is so simple to restrict the golf ball. It's the same for everybody. It's the same manufacturers. They won't agree to it, but that's what you have to do."
The expectation is that golf balls will go even farther. Even though Nicklaus bemoans what is happening to the game, he isn't about to be left out. After using six golf balls this year, he switched to the Titleist Pro VI for the Masters.
"I think you can't give up that yardage," Nicklaus said. "If everybody else is going to do it, you've got to do it too if you want to compete."

Welcome back Tiger!!!!
Tiger's biceps look more impressive than most tour players today
Roids
Hopefully they don’t slow his swing down like in the past when he bulked up. Definitely not roids, that would do nothing positive for his game.
Babe, new Tiger press conference just dropped
Watching a golf tournament just doesn't hold my interest unless Tiger is playing. It worries me that so many other other people feel the same way.
The good thing is that, as the gent to Tiger's left said, it doesn't even matter whether Tiger does really well or not. Just the fact that he's playing is what golf needs right now. Just making the cut would be a win for Tiger and for golf in general.
I don't really watch golf either unless Tiger is playing. I do watch the Majors but outside of that, not so much.
I still have the ‘Golf Talk Live w/ Peter Kessler’ interview with Tiger from December 1996 recorded on VHS. Being that he was almost at his then 21st birthday, he commented, _”In 30 years I’ll be eligible for the Senior Tour!”_ Welp… 3 years, Tiger. 3 more years. 😅
To hear the words "that surgery was a success" sends chills. Big cat is back
Take it easy big guy. Let's see how Tiger looks walking up 18 at Augusta in April 2024!!!
You easily get chills A?
He's had numerous "successful surgeries". I'm rooting for the guy, but I'm pretty sure even he doesn't expect to win on tour ever again. He shattered his right leg and foot!!
@@eddieblackford4919 that's not what he said. Tiger won't play unless he thinks he can win.

Just hearing tiger before he plays in a tournament make me happy

I’ve been playing golf 50 years. I’ve never seen such a low interest in professional golf among experienced players as I have now. I used to be obsessed with players, tournaments, and statistics. I don’t even keep up with it any longer.
Uh what? Golf is doing great bruh
Think in the past the main issue was to play great in big events, now it not about the $$$ it's ALL about the money and you are rewarded a great living by playing just okay. It can be like watching paint dry, watching these guys.
I have had to move to LIV to watch most of my favourite players. With the split in Tours I too have stopped studying world ranking, emerging stars and tournament stats … golf is now a second screen viewing while I do stuff on my phone or laptop
in the past 4 years, golf has seen the biggest surge since tiger won in 1997. youth participation way up, market share has grown across the board. maybe you mean to say YOUR interest is lower than it's ever been?
Things are always cooler when they’re newer to you.

More than 300 counts of adultery
No the PGA Tour doesnt have the buzz without this man.. and the PGA needs him desperately as many are defecting to LIV lol. Thats facts! Golf as a whole is popular as ever and PGA needs damage control with Tiger coming back. If playes werent defecting to LIV- he would not be playing. This is for the survival of the PGA. Believe that. Tiger wouldnt be playing if he wasnt in competition mode. Believe that too.
@@Cryptonomics7I’ll check back in with you two years from now when LIV is dissolved and the players back on the PGA with maybe a slight penalty. Nobody wants professional golf with Papa Roach playing in the background…that’s how us hackers play. The pro game doesn’t need all that extra garbage
LIV is not going anywhere and if it does, its taking the PGA Tour with it. If you havent noticed.. much of what PGA Tour is trying to adopt is LIV Golf type culture. Its trying to replace the fan fare that Tiger delivered- because its totally gone and so are sponsors. You must not be paying attention. Tiger is only back now to salvage the PGA structure as Jay Monohan has destroyed that. I mean listen to this interview. Tiger doesnt even have a caddy or clear plans. Tiger has never entered a tournament with so many controlled unknowns ahead of time. Tiger is here to do 1 thing and that is to keep PGA intact and prevent MORE players from leaving the dying PGA Tour. If he has to hit a few golf balls on tour- sobeit. He is the LIV Kryptonite, but is it too little and too late? We will see. LIV clearly has the top tier golf competition, and players want that- and if they can get paid more than the PGA in the process, its a WIN WIN for LIV guys. The PGA is on fumes right now @@ndupchurch

Tiger is great and his body has been through a lot since he first came on the scene. As bad as I hate to say it, When Tiger was a addict on prescription drugs his body never felt the pain that Tiger was experiencing while playing. Tiger just played on through because of it. Now that he don’t experience that anymore he can feel his body pain . I wish Tiger nothing but the best and it’s been pleasure watching him from first day he stepped into the scene till now. Not one question about catching Jack in major wins?
Tiger is 47, Jack won his last major at 46 (Phil at 50).
Tiger has 82 wins, Sam Snead has 82.
Hey Tiger, who is the greatest golfer?
To hear he thinks he can compete again, and win, and when he can`t win anymore he will walk away, the PGA needs Tiger, the people need Tiger, win or loose. I don`t look forward to golf weekends without Tiger in it. To many tournaments at the end of last season, had leader boards that I didn`t even know who the people were. Take away Tiger, Rahm, Rory and I probably wouldn`t hardly watch golf anymore, besides Spieth and Justin, I don`t know who the rest of these guys are. Glad to have you back Tiger, we sure missed you, and when it`s time to walk away, we will still be cheering for you.
Here’s a little heads up. LIV doesn’t need PGA. I think they proven that like a ship going down and all the mice are running for safety, which happens to be toward the LIV side. I’m curious how many people watched the hero golf tournament over the weekend with the numbers up or way down just curious, anybody know

Low expectations for Tiger I’ll be happy if just finishes 72 holes. That should see him move up approximately 400 places in the world rankings. But he won’t get any ranking points if he withdraws…The one question I would have asked was -what is his best score for 18 holes which he’s walked in practice. However no-one asked it but after listening to his press conference sounds like he hasn’t even walked 18 holes yet.

I’m even more disappointed now since the league merger and he did nothing, but business deals by trying to stay in one league as promotion.
