Thanks for the detail and close ups. Changed filters for my Perkins marine engine - couldn't see under the top cap, and manual showed nothing of the gaskets other than the bottom one. Your video, plus the old weird bent dental tool I had in the boat, kept me on the right track. A simple task, but I was doing it by braille, so your video helped a lot. Massy on.
I have to tell you this, anyone can take off and install a fuel filter (s) The main thing you left out is showing everyone how to bleed the air from the lines after the installation. Also a little more dialogue wouldn't hurt either.
that's a good question Martin - i really don't know - but if mine starts running bad that's the first thing i'm going to look at - my fuel tank has rust in it and going to replace the tank as soon as i can Stan
Thanks for the upload man. Trying to find an old Monroe/Clark bobcat vid Of changing the Fuel filter , has a Perkins engine. I've undone the little bolt on top but the glass bowl and filter won't come off. I'm wondering if i just need a light tap with a plastic mallet or something. They all appear to be the same set up with the shaft going through the center. Cheers, From Australia.
Do you know what makes a MF 35 Diesel Deluxe a "Deluxe" (as opposed to a MF35 non-Deluxe")? The reason I ask is I have an 1987 IMT 539 Deluxe (diesel) which is identical in looks to a 1969 MF35 and I've not be able to learn what makes it a "deluxe". I was told MF sold the body stamping dies to IMT who used them for more recent manufacturing. I have bought fuel filters, fuel lines, glow plug, ignition switch from the local MF dealer which all fit. Its a nice working tractor, used mostly in parades to pull a float and to pull a utility trailer around my property. If you know what the deluxe is I would appreciate it. Thanks.
I think I found my own answer. I always looked for IMT info and never knew MF had a deluxe version. So I Googled MF 35 Deluxe vs MF 35 regular. The things I learned were as follows: two stage clutch, live hydraulics, ground speed & independent PTO, tachometer, oil pressure gauge and floating seat. My IMT 539 has all these features but I never had another tractor to compare it to. I thought mine just had the standard features. Who knew? lol
+HWPcville De Luxe on IMT's stands for differential lock and two stage clutch. IMT 539's were only made in De luxe versions not counting the rebagded DLI versions. However older IMT 533 (older engine, perkins p3 copy, but everything else the same) were made in normal and De Luxe versions. I live in Serbia so i know ;-)
New Massey is a pain in the ass fuel filter is under the tractor , oil filter also in a tight area, they make stuff now so a common man don't want to work on your own stuff. I ran out of fuel thank god bleeding the injectors while turning her over did the trick got to take half the tractor apart to get to the manual primer pump.
Stunning that you let the diesel drain out all over the ground. Absolutely no regard for the environment around you! You could, if you haven't already, completely destroy your water supply or that of your neighbours.

Was there any reason you poured diesel gas into the ground ? Nothing like destroying your own ground water!
Great little tractor. Good pilot too. 😁
Was he pouring the fuel directly onto the ground?
One of my fillers has slow leak any ideas
Bravo
do put fuel in the filter? he never showed that if he did

IS THERE A REASON , FOR "NOT" CLEANING THE GLAS BOWL ON THE INSIDE ? WHEN ITSD ALL GUMMED UP ?
Und wenn du einen Ölwechsel machst, lässt du das Öl auch einfach im Erdreich versickern, oder was?
Sowas dämliches habe ich noch nicht gesehen...
Thanks sir 🙏

that's about the dumbest thing i have ever heard - anything else u don't know nothing about
FixinThatUp
I know it stupid pollute your water by dumping diesel into your water table. Where do you live again? EPA?
Aaron Daley Oh shut up.
1liter diesel is enough to contaminate 26000 liters of drinking water enough to make it unsafe to drink.
Thanks guy
I have a MF 245 with a leak around the fuel filter! guessing its a gasket or something
Ray Ray sounds like it Ray ...... Stan
It's takes you along time to do that small job
Wait a minute, how many fuel filters are on this thing? You must have changed 6 or 8 filters by now.
had to edit the video cigarcaptain

I figured it wasn't something you smoked, drank or popped! I still say your gang is better than Duck Dynasty.
