I was trying to decide between the AN1000 and the AZ3000 and your two videos on these receivers were very helpful. Thanks for saving me $1000!

Glad you liked… the only major difference is the sub gains on AN 1000 would be set at 20% higher compared to AZ3000.

Even though I am currently using a Yamaha AVR I have heard a couple of different AVR's from Sony's ES line and was pleasantly impressed by the sound quality. Some of these big name brands do miss out on some customers because they fail to put a feature in their product that many people expect from the price point on said product. As an example on many AVR's that provide two subwoofer outputs the outputs are usually in parallel from a single channel rather than each output being sourced from it's own channel. I can't see it being prohibitively expensive to have it so each sub out comes from it's own source. On an AVR that is $1600 dollars that should be doable. That is only one example and there are many others.

    Presentation and explanation, on point!
    Quick ones/advice?
    1. Amongst sets of: AVRS
    Sony STR - AN1000 or ES - AZ3000 (8K), OR,
    Denon XR2800H or XR3800H
Which one would you recommend as an all round and value/bang for the money (future proof)?
    2. Amongst sets of Speakers of:
    Sony/Klipsch/Sonos for 5.1.2 set up,
Which one would you recommend for the above chosen AVR?

For the AV receivers it really depends on your local pricing. Take into account Denon is little bright, Onkyo/Pioneer are warm-ish, Sony is my personal favorite in terms of audio quality but has its quirks. Having said that a lot of folks prefer Denon 3800H because from a. feature standpoint it's got everything covered. Regarding your second question.... It's very subjective and I havent tested all speakers. I would suggest if you could read other reviews or do a demo for the speakers you shortlist, that would be the way to go.

Now that these been out for over year. I wonder when new one with separate sub controls.

I am wondering the same thing. Subs should not only be configured in parallel from a single source/channel.
