- Dedecker Canyon is the section of the Steele Pass Road closes to Eureka Dune. If you are heading from Saline Valley to Eureka, it's all down hill and a little easier. If you're heading from Eureka to Saline, you have to climb two steps and a v notch that is challenging when going against gravity.
This video is from the Fall of 2021 when we were there with a group from the Overland Trail Guides forums.

Looks like the guys in the red 4Runner should watch you go through. Smiles.
I haven't found many videos focused on people wheeling in the US with trailers. Thanks for posting this.
Fun! Can't wait to do it in my Jeep.
I was here about 10 years ago, coming from Eureka Dunes attempting to go towards Saline Valley. I have turned around not trusting my skills and my vehicle. All these years I was wondering if I did the right thing turning around, but looking at your video I think I did, at least for myself and my vehicle. Kudos to you guys and doing this even with a trailer.
It's much worse in person than in the videos even. You did the right thing.
So bummed I turned around, wish I could have ran it with you guys! Great driving Mike!
Thanks! I wish you had continued as well. But I understand why you didn’t. Cheers!
That looks fun. You made it look easy. Even with the trailer.
Wonder if my big old Expedition would fit?
I want to do this with my newly built Ford E3 50 4 x 4 van but I am scared. I think it might be too wide and crappy training circle
There are videos here if vans doing it. I have video of a super duty and 4 wheel camper doing it.
4:30 is where ASPW was being a wuss. Nice job.
