    Finally Justice has been served. This was a wich hunt by Media, Australian Police, Public Prosecutors and Those who are against Catholic Church. God has released an innocent man from injustice. Cardinal spent 404 days in prison for sins of his accusers. He spent vast amount of money to defend and clear his name. Will he be compensated for the amount he spent? Moreover, his dignity and reputation has been tarnished by accusers.
    May God give him the strength and courage to continue his holly and good work.

      When I heard the earlier conviction, I was thinking how moronic is Australia not following the presumption of innocence and blatant pandering to the mob and media. I was thinking has AU degenerated to this level?
      Good thing they overturned the case. The evidence was flimsy only a kangaroo court to have held it up. Good thing AU still has some sense into it. Mob rule is never good and in the court - it is always proving beyond reasonable doubt - regardless being the man innocent or not. It is a safety net not to convict the innocent and a hallmark of western culture.
      Good job AU. Now if you can get of the climate change mob mentality as well and instead focus investing in modern garbage disposal instead of the nonsense recycling but just shipping the trash overseas - that would be the best.

    Will the ABC apologize for the way they treated the Cardinal? I don't think they will but they will gather together to pay themselves on their backs. But when the day comes, they will understand how and why the deceased man went back on his false accusations against the Cardinal where he informed his mother that he was never molested ever in his life and this was before his last breath. Like madame Milligan who brought the false accusations against the Cardinal will also feel the same remorse and will either die in her guilt for what she's done or with a particular grace from God she will feel remorseful but for how long... That's the scary thought. May God have mercy on her. She doesn't deserve salvation. Non of us but by praying for her and for each other we will God willing make it to heaven.
    Deo Gracias et Mariae semper... Cardinal Pell is free. He was never guilty of anything that he was accused of. Thank God justice has prevailed. My prayers also go out to those vulnerable and always.

    Archbishop Pell was released from prison for his alleged paedophilia not on a "technicality"but because the judges looked at the evidence and concluded that there was none, - it was a total hatchet job. Not only was there just no evidence, but the archbishop could easily prove he didn't do it - but that didn't matter. the ABC etc. had already crucified him with their reporting, calling the accuser the "victim" and not bothering to report about any massive inconsistencies - the initial jury were already tainted. If any fair person actually bothered to study the case, they would clearly conclude that it wasn't even possible for him to have done what he was accused of. On the day in question, as a matter of regular ceremony, there was somebody with him at all times, an eye witness testified that it never happened. One of the accusers later admitted it was all BS - this was ignored. Pell was in the back room, actually a busy area, for 5 minutes only, and with somebody, an adult - then about 6 minutes after service he was at the front of the cathederal. Based on the accuser's own testimony the route he took to that room would have taken him all of 5 minutes to walk after the service, so ignoring the fact that there were contrary witnesses, ignoring the fact that one of the accusers said it was all lies, ignoring the fact the room was a highly frequented place and a most unlikely spot for such a thing to happen, ignoring the fact that there was zero evidence, the archbishop would have had about 60 seconds to rape 2 boys - really?? Anybody that thinks he's guilty either hasn't looked at the facts, or simply has a hatred of Catholics. Don't believe the crappy biased media especially the ABC. The fact is, the guy was against gay marriage, abortion etc., so the PC Victorian police and the ABC just threw him to the lions without a fair trial. This isn't just my opinion - 7 of Australia's highest judges came to the same opinion. Now the ABC, after having devoted many hours of hatchet job coverage on this matter in the past, isn't even reporting it.

I went to talk to a classmate about an incident in which we were both involved and she looked at me blankly. It turned out I had totally confused her in my mind with someone else. Yet I would have sworn on a sack of Bibles that I had remembered the event correctly at which I was stone coldsober. I think.

I am so so happy for Cardinal Pell, those who chose to pursue this matter by ignoring or effectively dismissing the relevant facts ought now be accountable (including financially) for ruining this man's career and to this man. And BTW, everyone, and particularly the media, should have respect for this man of high status by refraining from referring to him as 'Pell', instead showing respect and use the term 'Cardinal Pell' - he has earned and deserves such respect. As the wheel of persecution was slowly spinning across Australia seeking primarily to villify the messenger of God in such an uncaring, unguarded, uncouth and nauseating manner, I recalled the ordeal of St Stephen in the Bible, stoned for no wrong done. In a far flung enclave somewhere, I could not help but silently pray fervently for the messenger of the Lord. His Eminence, George Cardinal Pell carried himself with so much philosophical calm I have never seen before. We live in a world, especially in a developed society as Australia, where the agnostics, atheists and apostates of hell have found big voices and weaponized their entrenched presence in media powerhouses to fan the most vicious, destructive and hate-filled embers of crucifixion of persons they don't agree with, much to the applause of spineless and wimpy politicians, government bureaucrats, police, judges et al who are addicted to political correctness than their own conscience. A shameless media powerhouse as ABC not only hid itself behind these perpetrators of jungle justice but aided and abetted them willy nilly. For the woman who needed so much traction in her quest for supremacy in persecution as will write a book titled "CARDINAL', I will pray she goes home and sin no more. The sage has it that "man proposes, God disposes" and it could not be truer than in what we see today. If the sinful media pundits will regain their conscience and reflect deeply on the injustice done to this great apostle of Christ, they should reflect on one thing - the rule of law - and that is what this is all about, unless in the case of Cardinal Pell, they don't believe in it. The wheel of persecution sought to enfeeble every atom of truth from the outset, probably on account of some vengeful orientation against the faithful but it has come to a halt where the accusers should bury their heads in shame.

    One could hope that out of this:
    1) The Victorian DP department LEARNS what IS evidence that could lead to a conviction and thereby not waste taxpayer's money in staging trials that have a probability of a not guilty verdict (it the Trial Judge is capable of giving proper instruction to Jurors on "beyond reasonable doubt" ) or unsafe verdicts;
    2) The Trial Judge be counselled on the need to give proper instruction to Jurors on "beyond reasonable doubt";
    3) Victoria makes sure that at least two Judges if not three forming an appeals panel have a depth of experience in the branch of law underpinning the cause of appeal. In other words, an appeal on a criminal conviction should have 3 Judges with extensive experience in Criminal Law; and
    4) Appeal Judges should only read written transcripts of a case (which are unemotional) and NOT view videos or hear audio of evidence.

      Of course if you check its followers - many would be idiotic - they havent gone into college studying the Church's position. But Catholic doctrine when when studied in a master/Phd level is very pragmatic on the positions of faith. It just takes time to educate the laymen.

      Pell's case was a mob kangaroo court - all emotion. It was like the judges were heavily pressured by the media they have forgone simple logic of assessing the evidence - just to placate the mob.
      Australia is becoming a mob rule of the leftist with its focus on cancel culture, intersectionality, patriarchy, violence and elevating victimhood - which is why we have cases let say in the US - Jessie Smolette, covington kids, aziz ansari, etc. I hope AU in a whole does not follow the leftist US. it is not my fault when you write things in generalized fallacious ignorant manner and then complain when people are not mind readers.
      And who in the Catholic church want to cover paedophilia?
      Maybe a few evil people - I bet other religions have their share too? If you have your Catholic understanding - the church is the people - not just the priest? Like most people - almost everyone rejects paedophilia. So does the few represent the majority? I bet you other religions have practices that are popular that are outrageous and immoral under Western standards - like killing for religion. The only reason the catholic are not complaining with this obvious mistreatment is because the penance and guilt is there in the past because of a few bad apple leaders - which quite frankly is outrageous if you compare the bad leaders of other religions/ideology. For one the communist dont seem to cower in shame of the millions of deaths and blood in their hands for the quest of equity. Leftist not only are violent they have no sense of shame for their past as well as the future they want to have.

    Spot on report. Trial by media and community consensus happened with the disappearance of Azaria Chamberlain in 1980. Almost everyone held a resolute claim that the baby was murdered by her mother. Very few held the view that a dingo took the baby. At the time, I was unsure what had happened. I did think it unlikely a mother on holiday with her whole family would kill her daughter. I held a view that it was conceivable a dingo took the baby. Whenever I voiced that possibility, I was shot down in flames - most people were outright hostile towards me for voicing that. I learned quite quickly that I had to watch the circus and shut up. Ultimately, Azaria's parents, Lindy and Michael Chamberlain were convicted of her murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. That was a day I woke up. My faith in the justice system evaporated. On 29 October 1982, Lindy Chamberlain was convicted. On 7 February 1986 she was released from prison. That day restored by belief in the justice system.
    The same 1980's hysteria that applied to Mrs Chamberlain, trial by media and community consensus, was liberally applied to the treatment of Cardinal George Pell - before, and during his trial. At the time, I was unsure what had happened. Whenever I voiced that possibility he was innocent, most people were outright hostile towards me. When Mrs Chamberlain was convicted, it seemed there were tens of thousands of people jumping with joy, and most in the media were smiling. The exact same thing happened when Cardinal George Pell was convicted on 11 December 2018 - joy in the streets and on TV. Ultimately, he was sentenced to 6 years in prison. On 7 April 2020, he was released after all 7 members of The High Court of Australia decided to quash his conviction. That day restored my belief in the justice system.
    To those who disagree with The High Court's decision, its like watching another bunch of circus clowns. I'm left wondering when I'll get to see the next trial by media and community consensus. When will the next circus come to town?

    We all know that the Catholic church has a lot of pull and that he had friends in very high places, so who knows why he was found not guilty.
    Certainly the plaintiff was genuine in his coming forward, out of the respect for his dead friend who could not put what happened to him behind, and his personal testimony does seem plausible in such a crime. What could have been the other reasons could this person come forward for, and why target Pell. So there it is.
    It's no surprise to me that he was like that as these two report shows the church is full of disgusting men in powerful positions.

Let couples teach about love , marriage etc. If you don’t want to go to that church go to another. I realise I am describing Protestants in a way! The 'coming of Christ' well....don't hold your breath, instead ask your local priest when would be a convenient moment to sexually molest any of your children. He will give you a time frame that suits except you must not be around at the time so grip your rosary beads, say a prayer and hope the serial predators in your church will all go away, unfortunately they won't! Sounds like reality, something that most of you don't know the meaning of!
