Everything I'm going to point out is not intended to be a dick, it's just so you (and anyone reading this) can learn and have a better immersion experience flying this highly realistic aircraft.
Minimums are the altitude at which if you can't see the runway while on an instrument approach (like an ILS) you must go around. You can find them in the chart.
Pitot heats stay off for taxi because there's no cooling air flowing over them so they could potentially overheat.
The no wind data on ground is because you aren't flying. The wind data only shows information above a certain speed.
The "run up" is not a run up; that's a piston aircraft thing. You go to high idle to test the feathering system to make sure it's working.
I would suggest setting some right rudder trim before takeoff, it will help combat the left turning tendencies of a prop plane ( anywhere between the middle line and green line is fine)
ECS info is the environmental control system, it shows stuff like cabin altitude, cabin temp etc
You kept blowing through the GS because you weren't anticipating the capture. When you ended up too high it's because you didn't lower the nose until after you were too high.
You didn't say anything about power so I can't know if you know, but 15% NG is a good power setting for full flaps, gear down on final. It will give you a good speed and descent rate
The reason you immediately skipped off to the left when you touched down is because you landed in the crab. You need to use rudder to straighten the airplane up and lower the wings INTO the wind before landing.
The GS not capturing had nothing to do with the yaw damper being off. All it does is act as an auto rudder, and you need it off before landing.
You should turn off the AC, bleeds, and press switch before shutting down the engine. Pitot heats should come off after landing while taxiing for the above reason.
Overall though you seemed to be pretty knowledgeable and flew the airplane well. Most of what I pointed out are TBM specific things that you can't be expected to know lol
Well sir i greatly appreciate you taking the time to explain this. I look fwd to hopping back in the tbm now know the things you mentioned
@@BluGames absolutely agree!! not sponsored or anything but go onto V1 sim and flightdeck2sim's youtube channels, they teach landings and proper approaches in the bigger airliners but the basics of aiming point proper approach, to crosswind landings, stay the same from a 747 to a 727 to a baron to a cessna. :)
Side note, I love how your name perfectly matches the topic you were initially talking about
wow this was super useful! thank you for taking your time to explain these details.
I'm a real-world PA-28 IFR pilot that had to sell my plane, so I'm getting into sims. I've been struggling with the TBM and keep falling back to my PA-28. Watching this was very helpful and inspires me to keep working on the TBM 900! I really like that you don't know everything, and you admit that. Very well done sir.
Hey sorry for a late reply. Good to have you back enjoying the flight sim. I dont know everything but i do my best to explain what i do know
Much obliged Blu.....Just got this thing today so I'm really behind on the learning curve but Steveo would be proud! Thanks again.
No problem and thank you
My father owns the 900 and I always fly with them, such a spectacular aircraft 🛬🛫✈️!
Tell him to pick me up lol
Love it..steveo fan here n follower..bet steveo would be amazed..this video is making more in buying it..😍🤗
You were the straw that broke the camels back! Thanks to you I’m now a proud TBM owner :)
Enjoy. I assume “virtual tbm” lol
@@BluGames Haha yes, virtual and VR. Love your channel man, take a lot of inspiration from it
I thought you were referring to the real one as well, lol. You have to consider your finances before purchasing it either way.
Minimums is you Decision Altitude. It is the height that is your last chance to go missed approach. Great video, I am looking into getting this plane soon. Right now I am flying the Aerobask Eclipse 550
Thanks alot and the eclipse is a great plane also i been flyin it a bunch lately
Great Job! Thanks for showing how to enter victor airways in the tbm 900.
Well done I really like your x plane and infinite flight videos
Thank you!
Just so you know, The backdoor can be closed by going to the back and holding the close / open button down, then move the handle to seal it, Instead of just pressing close in the airframe manager.
Thanks very much
Es un cacharro espectacular
I know I am 5 months late but... holy cow this thing is incredible!. I decided at long last to hang up my FSX boots and delve into X Plane. I regret nothing and Now I am totally spoilt for choice of complex aircraft. I was blown away by the Zibo 737 and went a bought the TBM yesterday and its a blast to fly. If A2A and PMDG got together and had a Baby it would this :). Also bought the Airfoillabs Beechcraft and that's brilliant too! So Happy!
Since this video the tbm has update many many times with new features and optimizations you will enjoy it.
great video thanks for the effort
Thank you
Awesome video!! Im only a couple years late lol... I just recently purchased this plane and have been having a blast. I know you probably know this but.... you were looking for DME to see if the ILS was active... but OPFs localizer doesnt have DME capes... so that's why you never saw distance. Your Glideslope was still there the entire time, just pegged at the top. It eventually transitioned, which you saw
Better late then never haha and thanks for the tip anyways
@@BluGames Did you ever work out why APR mode didn't do anything?
Wow what a beautiful plane
Yes it is
Awesome vid
Thanks for a great video! Your system should be plenty powerful for x-plane 11 even with several addons. Couple of key things to try are exclude real time virus scanning from X-Plane folders. Make sure the game isn’t trying to load more textures than your 1080 card has available in physical Vram. Reflections and anti-aliasing are worth messing about with as they affect frame rate hugely and don’t necessarily add a lot to the game. Make sure nvidia control panel power is optimised for max performance and your pc is on a high performance power plan and not thermal throttling. Update all motherboard, sound and gfx card drivers. Can try running in windowed mode, if it feels better there’s a free app that forces it to full screen. For a more realistic experience frame rate is key (imo) cheers!
@Blu Games and others. Can't remember the last time I watched RUclips for an hour+ and wanted to start over afterward. I'm new to flying (very new) and I'd love to know what first steps you took that ultimately led to flying a full-featured aircraft like the TBM? Did you go to flight school? Learn from a pilot-friend or relative? Did you start with more "simple" aircraft and work your way up? If you had it to do over, where would you start (online flight training, beat the heck out of sims until you figure it out, forums, all of the above, other)? This video is brilliant because @Blu Games knows a lot about flying, and even admits shortcomings along the way. Its overwhelming for a noob like me, so I'd just like to know some of the first steps you all took to understand this information so well.
Stand-by i will respond to this when i wake up
'Minimums' is the (minimum) altitude at which you need to go for missed approach if you don't have sight of the runway. It varies depending on the airport and procedure. Not trying to be a smart-ass here just feel thankful learning G1000 from you (I know NOTHING) and trying to give something back. ;-)
No offense taken thank you😀
The autopilot didn’t capture the GS because your lateral mode was ROL instead of LOC so the aircraft was just holding the wings level instead of following the localiser. Presumably this is a safety feature so the autopilot doesn’t descend on the glideslope when not established on the localiser.
Thank you i am trying again
Yeah, when he scrolled through the nav modes, it killed the APR selection for ROL. Pretty realistic.
Nice good to know
Also, you *had* the localizer just fine...the ID was visible and your status bar said LOC. (You could have also confirmed it by turning on the speaker for NAV1 to hear the Morse code.) The dashed lines above the ID near the HSI were for DME but the localizer doesn't provide DME on that approach...so they were dashes. Maybe that's what confused you. I learned a lot from this video that explains nuances of the system. ruclips.net/video/TnOUxBdM2m4/видео.html
Yep, when you are doing ILS or an RNAV Garmin approach, once activated, if that AP switches off or to ROL, it will not follow through, or if ILS, the LOC has to be locked on and active. Usually with the RNAV it will automatically start working as long as you've nailed the IAF altitude, and hit the APR button ahead of that. ILS almost the same situation. It's easy to hit the button twice, or miss something, and then the approach will not work, and you'll get a fly-by at best. Looks like you nailed the VNAV/GS but not the Localizer.
Need this aircraft for P3D so bad. The one aircraft that has not been properly modeled yet in p3d and the one I want the most.
minimums are the weather minima for the approach. They are only for weather. If you don't see the runway at the minimum, you gotta go around. They are either altitude (in relation to sea level) or height (in relation to GND). You can only use height if you have the necessary equipment (laser or something like that)
Great thanks alot!
@@BluGames ur welcome
Nice plane, kudos to steveo for the ID ;)
Yessir!!!
Great video and very informative / instructional. What source did you use for your Bahamas Ortho4xp tiles?
Thanks alot!
I cant remember but i usually use “USA” or “bing” and i wish i would have shown a bit more of the actual bahamas scenery
You sound excited as GorillaMe and flight sim personality BelGeode! 😆
Great video.. curious how you determine your flight path with sids and stars, did you enter in the start and destination in simbrief and just feed it the info from that?
Yes usually simbrief will give you sids and stars
Cool Video. Where do you get your charts from? What application is this?
I don't know if this makes a big difference in sim but your T/O trim was not set and in up position pushing your nose down making you have a lot of back pressure on yoke.
How do you get the tail # on the vertical Stab? Been playing around with it and can’t seem to figure it out!
how do you get that bar at the top of the screen telling you the weather and wind speed and stuff?
Hey, looks good so far, will watch the rest later. A lot to learn coming from IXEG and Zibo Mod.
Yea its pretty detailed maybe even more than those. But you can be the judge of that.
@@BluGames keep 'em coming!
U r the best
You are
@@BluGames ❤️❤️😊😊
It’s there any T/O GA button so you follow the FD?
How do You have the ipad in portrait orientation? My iPad in the TBM is in landscape orientation
When fying in autopilot and you have the ILS frequency on and the crs correct, just press app button on the AP and the aircraft will automaticly capture the vector and then the glideslope. Thats what you did wrong.
Hello , what button that you assigned to put the throttle in taxiing range . I been traveling in high idle
N851TB ? I’m a huge Steveo fan nice!!!!
Yea me toop
Nice Intro
Thanks
Whoah didn’t park at signature flight support, that’s where 851TB is hangered
Oops
I wonder if he ever figured out what the minimums setting does or if he figured out that the system autopilot for the G1000 does everything for altitudes for waypoints and everything else? Or is he still flying it the same way.
hmm i also wonder the same thing.. Lol 😉
In actual flight, I’d suggest that you keep it at 40% on take off. Save parts from a tbm driver
Thanks for sure. These are things i need to know
Blu Games there’s also a checklist and POH available for download from Socata
Will take a look next time i fly the tbm thanks
LOL...2 👎👎down...must be young arcade flight fans cuz this is dope..as you said😅I wonder why the center post is so thick...vibration strength?
Thanks man
Just wondering, Is the "info: you are feeling hot. start up the engine..." text an Xplane feature or a feature with the TBM? Or some other plug in
Its a TBM feature:)
I’m wondering why you disconnected the gpu while loading the flight plan, because in real life you’d discharge the batteries..
Hey I need help here, does it have auto throttle and if it does how do I turn it on? Same thing with VNAV.
TBM introduced auto throttle in the 940. The 900 does not have it.
Well I just bought it. And now the Synthetic vision is gone.. SO SAD :( Any ideas of how I can fix that?
I only got it on my iPad. But my PFD doesn't look like yours.
you have to go on your pfd to pfd and left there is a button with syn vision. there you can turn it on
Great Just broke out my Card..$$ I subbed
Haha thanks and enjoy!
That's great that XP11 has another plane full of substance/dynamics, but the visual quality of this plane could've been a tad bit better for the price. Idk.. For 3/4 the cost of the DCS F-14 coming out, this is a no-go.. but that's just me.
I agree that there could have been just a tad better visual quality BUT this plane is very nice looking AND so far everything works! Everything seems to be modeled and all of the avionics work as you would expect. Frankly i am fed up with buying a plane that looks marvelous but when you start flying major components don’t work! Carenado is Very bad about this. In fact most things from them such as tbn850 you cannot start the stupid thing it just goes up in smoke on start up. The only way to fly it is to let it auto start on startup and when you pay 30 to 40 bucks for the thing I don’t care how pretty it looks. There are a couple of planes that when you set your course in your flight plan and push nav gps it takes off in a 90 deg right turn and who knows where you will head to. So yes this plane is a bit pricey, i can fly it and stuff just works! Including Weather and all the extra cool stuff they put into it. Carenado, Take notice in my opinion you are not top dog anymore...there’s a new dog in town and they are paying attention to the whole plane. Thank you HotStart!
Do you only fly on Friday’s on infinite flight
OK iam between the new Epic g1000 Aerobask and this TBM one, i have 2 Aerobasks AC and i love them, Eclipse and the Da62...Someone can help me with this hard decision? Thank you!!
I have the epic. But dont have the Tbm one.. so i cant really say..
I would love to try a DEMO lol
Hi I’m new to xplane How do I set up taxi range and reverse range. Thank you
Hey welcome! You need to assign a button to “engine reverse toggle” the tbm will use that to switch to taxi range and flight idle
Awesome vid, awesome plane, what´s the chart solution you are using, please?
Navigraph
And thank you!
how did you get the iPad on the yolk
Hello , how do you upgrade your navigation information In Xplane
Use navigraph.com
Hello !!,
After the last revisión 1.0.3 I don’t see the check list. Do you see?
Thank you
Idk i will look and let you know
Blu Games , also with the new version is impossible to me look for check list menu
Could you please let me know that hardware is recommended to use the software for actual training (I fly this plane in real life)? Is one monitor enough? which yoke? tks!
acastellini the yoko is a good yoke the mfg crosswinds are awesome
Just get a Logitech 3D, you don’t need complicated hardware for training.
But just get a joystick like the 3d pro one monitor is enough
llOPPOTATOll what monitor do you recommend ?? 1440p, 4K, ?
Olasek i have a 1080p one and it works fine
Hello. I have been a fan of you for a while and I have a question. What is there to do in infinite flight if you don't have global? I find it quite boring because you can't really get that feeling of completing flights
Without global you can complete flights.. but only short flights cause you are limited to a small region.
@@BluGames Yes but the flights you can complete are like 5 minutes or less.. it's basically paying for the demo version of a game
Yes that is very true
ok so good news, xplane 11 will work on my computer, microsoft fs 2020 will not. SO I bought xplane 11 at full price and it is currently installing. in the meantime, what are some good pc flight simulator controls i should invest in?
Thrustmaster rudder pedals..
Honeycomb alpha yoke..
Honey comb bravo throttle..
Or
If you are more into airliner flying pickup the Thrustmaster TCA Yoke Pack.
I also have reviews for these on my channel
how did you get that water surface, video sequence is 29:50 ?
Ultra Weather XP
So if the avionics are built off the default xplane 11 g1000, how does it compare to the real thing? I'm kind of confused on that whole situation
I have not used the real life G1000 so i cannot sau
It lacks a lot of functionality from the real thing, but does satisfy all the navigation features. I use the G1000 in real life.
Bobby Everette from what I heard this is the best G1000 in a GA sim, the problem is folks who shoot those videos don’t know how to operate it in an IFR environment, so they don’t know how to put it through its paces. I also fly a Cirrus equipped G1000 in real life and I am instrument rated. I am yet to see a properly armed and flown LPV approach..... minutes ago I came across another video “rich kid flies to Las Vegas” and this is the first video where 5his aircraft flies proper LNAV+V approach with VPATH/ALTV and other “advanced” annunciations, this tells me it is indeed quite complete simulation (even if some obscure G1000 pages are missing) stuff like that you won’t see in other PC sims.
Also, the default G1000 was programmed by flight instructor called Philipp Ringler, you can watch his extensive videos on the subject of features of this “default” simulation, he has like 3 hrs combined on VNAV and different approaches, plus some more, so since there are some slight difference between different G1000 (say Cirrus Perspective G1000 is slightly different than Cessna 172 G1000) someone implementing a new G1000 aircraft in X Plane simple takes the default version and adds whatever differences are needed - so no need to reinvent the wheel. TBM would obviously need a completely different engine page than the default G1000. So you don’t have situation like in FSX when every developer who wants his own G1000 starts from scratch and provides his own implementation - very laborious process and hence all those implementation suffer from significant shortcomings.
How did you get that Ipad on the Yoke? Can't seem to find any plugin for it...
Its built into this plane
On the dash to the right of the yolk there is two little usb slots. If you push them it turns on and off the iPad. Found it by accident!
XD i would have taken the controls on that takeoff
Hahaha!!
bih mih nee ;)
Awesome, is that livery made yours? Where can i get it? Steveo1K is a master!!!
This livery comes with the aircraft. But i did make my own livery also
O.K , does anyone watching this have the Flight Factor A320 ultimate and also own this aircraft?
If so can you give a FPS comparison between the two on your system.I want this aircraft but need to know how it compares with the Flight factor regarding performance.
Thank you ladies.
I have both but havent compared frames yet...
New update has been released for the tbm and is supposes to dramatically decrease the frame hit
Thanks.Test it and tell me what you think.
Thanks Blu Games
How do you upgrade your Nav data in xplane with Navi
Yes
Oops with navigraph data manager program thing
Another question, how do you load saved flight plans?
Honestly i havent tried yet
Blu Games no worries I figured it out it’s the small dial you switch
Oh yea i knew that
Blu Games you should of said 😂
@Blu Games What scenery is this?
Ortho4xp generated orthos + default airport scenery
Hi
how do you input the altitude?
Use the “small” fms scroll wheel
freakin life saver bro
No problem it took me a while to figure it out. I thought i could use the keypad. But doesnt work that way
Blu Games also I noticed you saved the flight plan I did that and have no idea how to load it back up?
Is it a fps killer?
It used to be . But it has been optimized alot. And run great in xplane vulkan
Hello
No, he sometimes stream on Wednesday or Thursday. It depends on if he has time to stream or not.
Kind of laggy blu
Thanks which part
Hey blu im in IFATS it says you are in adobe are you making new video
Possibly lol
@@BluGames lol
that intro sound is the worse thing I have heard in my long life
