- (8-4-20) This is one of two inclines running in Pittsburgh. This one has Westinghouse equipment, and is still for the most part manually controlled! This incline opened in 1877 and was restored in 1963. The machine room is open to the public, so you can go see how this amazing piece of machinery works! Enjoy a nighttime ride on the incline and a look at the machine!

@@stlelevators Yep! Seems fun to ride!
I've been to Pittsburgh many times but I still have yet to ride the incline.
You should!
I didn’t even see you uploaded this! This was fun! Come back soon Jason.
Also....
THATS SO COOL!
Haha, yeah I want to come back sometime!
Wow! That’s very awesome and unique! Amazing these are in awesome shape and run very well!
There used to be way more of them in this area, but sadly only two remain. The two that still run are awesome though.
I was here not too long ago! Hope you visit the cathedral of learning!
It was closed sadly
My family vacationed in Pittsburgh last week, and we rode this Thursday. It was very unique, definitely worth doing while you're in Pittsburgh.
Did you ride the other one too?
@@stlelevators We didn't, just rode this one. If we go back, we'll definitely hit up the other one.

Really good view of Point State! Well, really the whole city.
Both of the inclines have a nice view.
Bet. My dad grew up in Pittsburgh, in the Gibsonia/Monroeville area to be exact. He has fond memories of these things back in the 80's and 90's.
Wow this is really neat! I'd love to ride this one someday. Did you ride the Monongahela incline as well?
Yep
Went here back in Spring Break 2011... Pretty cool place!
Yeah this is awesome. Did you ride the other one too?
STL Elevators Yes, I did twice! Once in Spring Break 2011 and once in 2018 with Jared...
@@NWIndianaElevatorsisn’t there a Otis here for ADA compliance?
