- Ghosts of the Deep is Destiny's newest dungeon and it is a little bit trickier than your typical dungeon experience. Memory fragments 2-10 are located in between the first and second encounter, with memory location 12 being after the final boss.

Had a great time doing this blind. The reveal of Oryx's corpse was a magical moment
It gave me so much anxiety seeing a hive ghost trying to rez him
It took me like 8 minutes into the boss fight to realize it was oryx then I had PANIK
Yeah, first time I saw it, I immediately wanted to go "Nope, I'm out!"
So true had a friend who was watching streams as soon as it came out to learn mechanics so we could do it without dying 100 times lol
When we arrive and heard the soft Oryx theme and see his corpse, me and my team when crazy rally quickly and crush the ghost before it's too late
So glad that I got day one blind, my first ever event for a day one as well
Same here. Took a few hours but glad I got to check this box off after so long, especially after only doing two encounters in RoN on contest.
Took 4 hours to do blind with my mate day 1… but well worth it. Super fun dungeon! We even completed Oryx encounter first time

I appreciate you taking the time to think the dungeon through and then make the guide simple and easy to follow. Other creators may have put out guides more quickly but yours was the easiest to understand .

I think it's great having a mix. Some people want to day 1 and don't have the patience to learn mechanics blind so a rough sketch of a video helps alot. Then the more detailed peeps make their vids with strats and load out tips to make the dungeon efficient.

@@nexus2691 I'd agree but fallout seems to care so much about getting stuff out asap vs quality. If I'm looking for guides and then someone wastes my time with incorrect info id rather wait the extra day for someone else to make a guide that's correct.

Second encounter DPS seems to start when you do the last dunk so killing the first knight fast is also important and for extra optimization, don't dunk in the middle last as it'll leave you the furthers from where DPS starts
Boss encounter is by far the coolest I've see I a long time; I've wanted a visual-alignment puzzle mechanic for so long

For anyone looking to solo this dungeon, I have tips!
(This was done on a sunbreaker titan)
Use throwing hammers + heavy handed mod + sol invictus --> you gain health off of hammer hits and restoration off of sunspots, which generate off of hammer kills
For first boss:
- 1-2 punch shotgun + tractor cannon! (no seriously)
- Synthoceps to buff super and melee damage since you're always surrounded
-Use your mini hammer for ad-clear and have infinite restoration, then use 1-2 punch to make your hammer 1-shot knights and ogres. When damage phase starts, use 1-2 punch and the hammer to kill the pool-dropping knight to refresh your roaring flames stacks, hit the boss with tractor, then use your super to take down the boss' shield. For actual damage, do tractor, then spam mini hammer at the boss 7 or 8 times, then repeat tractor. When your roaring flames reaches 5 seconds, kill an acolyte with your mini hammer then keep doing boss damage
- You can suppress the stormcallers with tractor cannon! Sometimes it doesn’t take them out of their super but it always blinds them and takes them out of the fight for a good few seconds
For second boss:
- Vorpal fusion rifle (riptide and cartesian are still very good) for lightbearers since they already count as bosses
- Sleeper simulant for boss damage (if you're confident you can land shots. if not, honestly anything works but sleeper is THE pick)
- Loreley splendor and healing grenades for survivability. Optionally you can also use the fragment that extends restoration from solar kills. Ideally you have a vorpal riptide, some solar primary (drang, calus mini tool, battle rifle, etc) and sleeper
- THREE Arc resistance mods
-Always use your hammer or grenade to start restoration before grabbing deepsight. The boss by itself can't outdamage restoration x1
-The boomer knights around the perimeter of the arena only spawn once per damage cycle. Just kill them all at the start of the fight and after each damage phase
-Once you spawn in all three runes and have to go hunt lightbearers, start with the gunslinger (the entrances closest to Oryx's head). Use your super to kill it since the lucent blade barrage is the only super that can instakill you
-Take the sentinel and the stormcaller AFTER the gunslinger. The vorpal fusion rifle is VERY useful here as you can chunk them down in just a few bursts. By the time you down all three guardians, you'll have hammer of sol back again and be able to use it to destroy the boss' shield. If the boss still has any shield left for whatever reason, you can chunk away with your fusion rifle again (I've been told vorpal works on the shield but I've yet to test it out myself)
-I'd normally start damage on Oryx's head, knees, or foot. These are elevated platforms which means the thrall that spawn during your damage phase can't attack you
General tip: If you forget which rune you took from the lightbearer (or didn't look at the rune) by the time you're in the main boss arena, you can just go into another cave and take another lightbearer's rune. (Ex. I already dunked the rune for the gunslinger, but I forgot which rune the stormcaller was guarding and I've already finished the stormcaller's ghost and have Vestige of a Wizard. I'll just go to the sentinel's cave, see which rune is over there, kill the sentinel, then dunk the sentinel's rune so I can use process of elimination to see which rune the stormcaller was guarding.)
1-2 punch doesn't buff throwing hammer
@@icicle_ai that’s interesting to hear, considering my throwing hammer at roaring flames x3 leaves the stormcallers at the first boss at half health but with 1-2 punch it deletes them instantly. I’m also sure that my shotgun isn’t doing the other half but then again this game never works as intended ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@thefunny3320 it doesn't, or at least shouldn't as 1-2 punch is supposed to work on physical melees only, while mini hammer is a projectile melee

Some other notes to help people out:
1. For the first boss encounter, there are also two entrances to the pool where damage takes place, one of the right and one on the left. They are small circular holes in the wall, and they’re actually pretty useful. They are both directly above their own rune, and generally just give good access to that part of the pool.
2. For the final boss, you are not able to kill the knight at Oryx’s chest first, for whatever weird design reason.
My favorite part was listening to the haunting voice of Xivu Arath and then transitioning to the "happy go lucky" music of the video to see where the next collectible was.
I Used to dream of days like this ( I am overjoyed to hear the Datto guide music once again)

If you didn't finish the ghost after the second and the final boss , they will resurrect with 10% of their health, and you'll have to do all the steps again

5:44 slight correction suggestion. Enemy types do matter as 1.) once the ghost is crushed, the symbol/rune disappears until the next damage phase reset and 2.) the lucent hive types do not change locations where Knight is Right body, Wizard is at Left Body and Acolyte is near Head.
So in case people holding the vestige die before they could imbue it in the proper body part, asking for help from your teammate by saying ( Hive Type + Body part) will immediately tell your teammates where to go to get the vestige and where to dunk
e.g. Wizard-Right Leg, Knight-Head, Acolyte-Heart
Best dungeon by far. It's challenging, the atmosphere is amazing and the twist of the lucent hive trying to bring oryx back as a lightbearer was awesome (and honestly i wouldn't be against that actually happening at some point). The lack of radio dialogue made the atmosphere even more Erie, and descending so far down the arcology is hardly visible was awesome. Oh and Ahsa swimming about showing how absolutely massive she is. Don't even get me started on how amazing the armor sets look
Anyone else just completely ignore other guides until Datto’s releases?

This dungeon is absolutely fantastic. I have some minor gripes about bosses with massive health pools (soloing this one seems like its going to be a real slog) but that's been kinda standard lately, and I'm also not totally stoked (personally) on the legendary weapons. The rapid-fire glaive sounds cool _(assuming it actually behaves differently than an adaptive glaive, Bungie)_ especially since I'm excited that we Hunters finally have an exotic that really does something with glaives.
But really, outside of that this is easily my favorite dungeon atm. Time will tell how that holds up but I'm loving it right now. I'm especially excited to complete the armor set (that Hunter cloak is soooo cool)
Iirc the first exotic glaive for hunters in witch queen is a rapid fire, so it’s been around for a while.
Idk how different you want the rapid fire glaive to be but I did notice it fired and reloaded pretty fast when I tested it out not knowing it was a rapid fire frame
We didn't have any issues with boss health. Each one we did 1/3 health, easily.
Soloing this dungeon is awful. The shields means you either need arbalest, to burn heavy/super on them or you can't do any damage. You're damage gated before the damage starts and that's if you can get damage, getting to the final boss damage phase ALONE is a miserable experience because of how long winded it is.
@Glasdia the final boss having more health than nezarec is just over kill.

If you dont finish the ghost for either of the bosses it revives with a small portion of its health left. We didnt see the ghost for the final boss and it revived for us with a tenth of its health back. Just had to do one more damage phase.

what exotic was your warlock using? not sure what to use now that starfire is nerfed
I can’t speak for the other rooms on final boss but wear datto killed the lucent knight, you can exit into the water from the top of the area it’s faster than going back down to the bottom.
6:30 I’ve seen inconsistency with this, I’d recommend ending him when he’s in the circle anyway

try assassins cowl arc hunter with fusion fusion lament for first boss and arby a fusion and a linear fusion for final boss. takes like a minimum of 6 cycles probably closer to 8 for each boss but it’s very safe and efficient bc you get double special for extra damage bc arc hunter ad clear loop is best in game
i did my solo run as a loreley titan and it was def easier than trying the other classes
do sleeper for boss damage, bring a vorpal cartesian/riptide to deal with lightbearers. all ad clear should be done with bonk hammer + heavy handed mod, and healing grenades to assist with restoration. for the runes, i always kill the hunter lightbearer with my super first, then clear the wizard and knight in whatever is more convenient so i can get my super back by the time i dunk the third vestige. use hammer of sol to remove the boss' shield and just keep chipping away with sleeper
i was able to do it in eight phases which took roughly an hour. just take it slow and your hammers should keep you alive

when solo, the wizard has roughly 15mil health. just doing the final boss on my solo clear took an hour on the run i actually killed it on. esoterrick was able to get it down to 45 minutes and thats the fastest ive seen so far :(

Helpful hint for last boss the chest is always part of the triangle and have u to kill the knight at the chest last don’t know why
Killing the chest location last is not necessary. My group picked whatever part was convenient until all sections were active.
Liked this dungeon for being mechanics heavy, but it takes time to nail everything down. Going in blind was a rage quit experience on Ecthar encounter lol.
lol yeah don't forget to finish forehead... like my team and I totally didn't forget to on the final boss because we were hyped we killed so quick

Nice and clear. As the final boss and ads do crazy damage it is worth noting you can hide in the under water cave entrances and pop in and out as needed if at low health.

My team figured out the mechanics surprisingly easily and didn't even wipe :D visuals were amazing as always, nice challenge, [REDACTED]'s appearance at the end was sick as hell too

So what's up with that tank in the beginning? You activate 4 consoles in the first encounter and it gives you a tank with no weapons. Guess it's just for fun 🤷♂️
The final boss having 10.000.000 health is a slog, but i prefer this than the shattered throne boss melt.

Finally I can form my own opinion
I was completely hooked (pun intended) from the jump. Loved the atmosphere and encounter designs. I enjoy this way more than spire. Also, got with an LFG group and we cleared in under 2 hours. Popped into the stream to see they still hadn’t finished so I take that as an absolute win!
I enjoyed this dungeon up until the final boss. Her HP needs to be toned waaaaaaaay down.
Briars contempt and Rufus fury, Ron raid weapons do extra damage to lucent hive

@@hellothere-dk4gg briars’s is one of the best linear’s in the game it’s just slightly more unforgiving because of the three round burst.
@@SavvyMon4 but afaik sleeper is better for the final boss, and you can make a play for xeno or thunderlord over linears anyway. I like Briar's too, but it doesn't have consistent damage perks for this boss when compared to stormchaser with firing line, which is a higher damage bonus than anything on Briar's except surrounded, which is inconsistent af
My one complaint about the dungeon is that the bosses have way too much health for a decent solo attempt...think the final boss is over 11 million. With the shields on top feels a little absurd.

Tried it with my friend. We got stuck at the first boss due to the overwhelming amounts of adds. couldn't even dmg the boss because we need to kill adds to stay a live. not fun imo

The solo for this dungeon is a doozy. Sunbracers is definitely putting in work though, especially in the second encounter.
I liked the esthetic of the dungen but the final boss has way to much health for a dungen and the hive lightbearer do to much damage and having to hold still on the deep sight sucks
Amazing dungeon. But a miserable experience for solos. Bosses health bars are very large and the shield takes time from DPS.

Was not expecting this dungeon to be even remotely good but im not paying for a dungeon key or deluxe edition. With the way their presiding is for the game dungeon keys shouldn't exist imo
