- In this episode of Repair and Replace, Vance shows how to replace the batteries in a Sloan Optima, Solis or Ecos Flush Valve. This applies to both commercial toilets (water closets) and urinals.
Since the batteries power the sensor and solenoid, they are the first thing you should check if your flushometer doesn't flush.

Thank you Robert!
Thanks
It was helpful
You're welcome!
Thanks for the video, I'm glad to see there isn't some special reset procedure... though that means our second of these valves died before the batteries did (2nd at 19mos). I wish this model was more robust than it is for a couple hundred dollar controller.
Thanks for watching Dave, we're glad you found it helpful. Its hard to know why some sensors in various flushometers fail, the sensors modules aren't under a lot of physical stress but moisture can effect these kinds of devices. Its also hard to compare longevity between different models other than anecdotes.
There is moisture under the unit since it looks like the valve seal leaks. But this controller has a coated board, and is in a gasketed housing. ..still gets moisture in it, but no visible corrosion.
Nice thank you
You're welcome Victor!
I had a Sloan flushometer installed about 10 months ago. Today, there was a red flashing light briefly. According to several RUclips videos by various plumbers, this red light means that the batteries are low and need to be replaced.
Can you tell me how many flushes will operate after the red light flashes for the first time?
Prior to my purchase of my new Sloan flushometer, I had an older model Sloan flushometer that provided 100 flushes after the red light low battery signal first appeared. Does the newest Sloan model have the same 100 flushes?
Thanks for watching. I don't know how many flushes you'll get after a low battery signal. It might vary between older and newer models.
@@AmreSupply What tool did you use to remove the 2 screws on the top of the unit? Those 2 screws do not seem to be standard or Philips screws. Was there a special tool for those screws that came with the unit?
@@Spartacus516 We used a 7/46" hex wrench to remove those 2 screws.
One of the cables is not connected. What to do?
Thanks for watching. Do you mean one of the solenoid wires has broken from the plastic connector?
Thanks
You're welcome!
What happens if you do all that and still not working. The lights is on with new lithium batteries 🔋.cap is tightened and push the flush button and nothing happens
Thanks for watching. There could be several causes. If you're getting no power, no lights or anything then it could be a faulty sensor: ruclips.net/video/Q5etHTFbkBA/видео.html
Alternatively if you're getting the lights but the unit won't flush then it could be a faulty solenoid: ruclips.net/video/2b-x3vawtFA/видео.html
@@AmreSupply thanks this was irritating I'll let my manager know.
What is the battery did not fix the problem??
Thanks for watching If you've replaced the batteries and you're still have no power and no indicator light then It could be a faulty sensor module. If you have an indicator light and the valve isn't flushing then it could be a faulty solenoid ruclips.net/video/2b-x3vawtFA/видео.html
We have replaced all internal parts and the toilet works fine for 2 days then it continually flushes
Thanks for watching. If the flushometer continually flushes and you've already replaced the diaphram then its best to check how the diaphragm is seated. Check for any corrosion or damage on the valve seat that might prevent the diaphragm from seating properly. If there is corrosion or a mineral build up then it's best to clean before reinstalling the diaphragm.
