Glad you like it.
I watched your videos and sprayed a masterpiece… thank you!
You are welcome.
Hi Martin my giant defy look the same as the propel when you was half way from stripping the paint . I find it very hard to believe it can get a more difficult bikes to strip .
Wanted to respray black and gold so I’ll try to copy the fade effect cheers ivor
With the 2k is it best warming the can before applying. Could you link the gaffic paper to use .
Love your videos, informative and entertaining!
I am attempting a bike paint job with my son using Montana paints as per your videos, it’s an aluminium frame but I’m not sure which primer to use?
Do I need an etch primer and then 2k for a white base? I want to avoid any reaction from the primer to the top coat. Thanks!
After you apply your clear coat (2k), would you be able to wet-sand any orange peel out and then polish out to a haze free finish? Coming over from automotive painting and would love to try my hand on a frame!
Thanks for your Video's Martin. You are saving people lots of $$.
Nice bike!!!

for sure
magnificient paint job....
Does the black primer serve as a base code or do you need a separate base code before applying the gold color? Thank you!
Love watching your videos. I will be doing Merckx Emx frame in few months and I think I need to remove two layers of paint as it has already signs of non standard paint 😂
Hey love these videos, it has inspired me to spray paint my helmet ⛑️. One question.... How long do you wait after spraying to wet sand?
Hey Martin, quick question if you wanted to thin some montana gold paint to stray through an airbrush, what would you use?
Hey. How long after painting can the film be removed (oracle)
so im using a black 2k primer to make my metalix red look darker , but i need some white accents , all the logos will be shock white , do i spray the primer and then the white mask with stickers , then paint he rest , or do i sand the white and primer first to make it smooth ?
I gonna try it to my frame
Hey bro.i want my carbin bike painted.really love ur work.
Brilliant video, can the frame be sprayed with matt/satin clear cans or would it not work with the metallic ? I like the fade metallic but like matt/satin black frames too. Cheers Matt
Very very nice....Greetings from Italy
You are just amazing!
Wow, thank you!
thank you!!!
thank you for sharing
Thank you for commenting.
My letters are very difficult to remove. Can you recommend a masking letters that remove easily?
Very nice, Martin. I'm really learning in every video you post lately. Maybe you can post a link of that die cut vinyl cutting machine or the something like it. Thanks.
Is there any sanding required between coats and clearcoat?
Greg van Avermaet’s bike 😍😍
Like two colors gold and black in mi Kona blast model 2000 year, thanks master
what do you recomend custom painting a pinarello rs road bike
Hey There. Do you wet sand prior to putting the vinyl mask logo on? And is it possible to wet sand metallics? Also, what do you clean the paint with ? And what vinyl do you use to make logos? And one last question, Do you polish after you clear?
that really is a beautiful paint job... I'd like to paint my bike but .... I'm a disaster at painting anything.. maybe I'll get some "junk" bikes to practice on ... amusingly if my bike was already bright orange I'd be quite pleased indeed.
Thank you!!!!
Which is the exactly gold color on can spray used on client’s bike because is different gold color used on tube.
I know you used a compressor system to paint the bike but this gold color could be funded on cans spray?
Your videos are epic due to two reason (in the following order): (1) dad jokes, (2) paint jobs.
On several videos you mention not to turn the object rather paint around it. What's the math behind this ? Dust ? I'm going to build a smal aspirator panel and I was thinking to rotate the frame in order to spray always in the direction of the aspirator. Thanks Martin, I've already learned a lot!
Can you make a video about your gun/air brush set ups and your air compressor set up 👍
Do you need to degrease after you sand the paint coats?
what would you use to protect a matt finish?
Is it really that hard to get the frames bare to avoid the time consuming sanding process?
Martin! Great videos. I have a Specialized Tarmac frame I intend to paint, and would like to maintain the UCI cert logo on the seat tube as you have in this example. What did you use to protect the logo when removing the original factory paint? After applying the first layer of protective clear coat, what grit sand paper do you use before applying the 2-part final clear coat?
I have the same question, but from watching some of his other videos, I think the recommendation is to not keep factory logos, as they may bubble (air) when you try to paint over/around.
Some of his other videos, I think he said 800 grit wet sand paper
on the frame did you use Montana Gold Shock Black OR
What are you cleaning the parts with? Water or alcohol?
hi im a new subscriber here from the philippines.. , why you didn't use a chemical paint remover on your frame? hoping to your answer and your advice, thanks, more power to your YT channel..
All nonsense aside, you can't just pop out with that level of pun, without knowing some hella fine English. Well done.
Great video ! Interested to know which kind of degreaser you use, exactly.
Great stuff. Eighty four hours - Achtundvierzig Stunden :)
Great video !! any tips to center logos at the same place on both side of the frame?thx
Using a ruler or measuring tape is a good idea.
Have you painted any MTB forks? Could you make a video about that if you ever do that? Thabks
hello, i want to ask u what kind of sticker(film)do u use?
Hi, I want to make custom transfer stickers. Where can I make that? You have German or Dutch online shops to make that? And what kind of sticker do I need because it should be removable and not take the paint with it.
Would it be a problem if these colours were reversed? I mean, painting the base colour as gold and the darker colour (black) over top?
Where do you get those stand to spray?
Hi Martin love this colour scheme but was hoping to do this but in matt , any tips for clear coat (matt )
Use matt clearcoat instead of gloss clearcoat.
What type of printer is that for the logos?
I put a primer coat before the base coat and then the main color coat?
I like your videos , specially of your any kind of frame...can i have one🤗
Shout out sir..
for fades, should you also mask the black part as well?
I do not mask the black.
Was it 1k grit sand paper?
Hey Martin. Love your Content...Thank you. I got one simple Question. How do I remove old paint from nearly impossible to reach (properly) areas on a fork/ frame ? Near the dropouts of my fork the are little recesses I simply cannot get into with standard sand paper. The parts are bonded aluminium into the carbon legs of the fork...so technically I could use a paint stripper....any other suggestions?
I wondered the same thing. I thought I could use my mini sand blaster but it wasn't strong enough. Or maybe a buffing wheel? Or maybe I should just ask my girlfriend.
@@chewbacca848 If you can get your gf to do it...go for it! ;) I did use the chemical paint stripper and protected the adjacent Carbon with Aluminium foil. Needed about 2 to 4 applications cause you never get it perfect 1st try! I used an old toothbrush to get the little particles out of the crevices....Frame turned out great
Question: How long before you remove the masking tape / logo when using spray cans? Thanks!
10 seconds. Five minutes. Sometimes I have lunch in between. Depends on my mood.
And what is it your recommendation use a mask to paint inside or use a logo like you are using in your example?
Use a mask to paint as I use in my example.
Nice idol 😊
Looks like greg van avermaet's giant tcr! Is it for him?:D
Hi Martin, what did you clean that pipe with after removing yhe masking tape?
Degreaser
Ich feiere deine Videos jedes Mal. Vielleicht kannst du ja mal ein Video zu Candy Lackierungen machen!?
Ok ich sollte warten mit dem Schreiben bis das Video zuende ist..!
Super nice Video. If not the best I have seen so far. Im thinking about a new paintjob for my bike. What temperatures are suitable for a good painting? Since I have to do it underneath my roof (or outside) without hetaing (in the fall/winter).
25 degree Celsius
I have a Matt black bike with glass lettering. I love the color scheme but I’m getting a little tired of it. The pain is in excellent condition but I’d like to add a little pizzazz to it to liven it up a bit.
I was wondering, is there a clear coat DIY spray I could use over this provide a slight color shift or oil slick effect without totally starting from scratch?
Just use this clear coat: amzn.to/3lC3sVt

@ETOE What do you use to degrease the frame?
Nice Video. Keep up the great work. ;)
Degreaser.
Do you need to wet sand between the 2K layers? And do you need a final wet sanding, buffering or so for a perfect finish (to remove orange peel for example)? We are planning in making a video of bike built including custom painting and your channel is such a big inspiration/reference for us!!
If you are a bad painter you need a sanding to remove orange peel. If you are a good painter with lot of practice you need no sanding.
@@ETOE I see, we'll try to do our best. Thanks!
You have any tips on how to spray light colors ?because I have a pink can and its ligit transparent and looks crappy
On light base. White means light.
I was picking my nose when you explained "popel" LOL
I have a question: do You deburr overlay edges after removing decals?
I've seen that he sprays a thick layer of clear, sands it smooth, then a second layer for the glossy look
Hi,
Great stuff! How long you say that colors in aerosol cans last, once taken in use? From your way of saying it, it sounds like it's longer than 48h like the 2K stuff.
Approx 2 days.
what program are you using to cut your vinyl? I'm looking for a new program thats more reliable to use.
Creative Suite
How comes the metallic gold look so greenish?👌👌👌
Is it better to use a 2k primer (for a bare carbon frame)?
Please check the preparation and primer video.
