You know what I love? They use that first elevator scare, unchanged, to really introduce the fact that blood splatters on Isaac. It's brilliant.

I never considered why they kept it the same like that. However after that scene I did immediately notice the blood soaking Isaac. And I loved. That's clever game making right there
@Dylan McCabe It isn't that big of a detail, really, but they knew how to introduce blood splatters with it and it's so damn clever. It's a cramped elevator and you can't NOT see the blood trickling over his suit.

This is a remake done right. Hopefully, other game developers take notes. The amount of love and dedication that went into making this game is awesome. I hope to see more remakes like this

No really. It isn’t as faithful. The characters are bland and so robotic. The originals were so good

It's close enough. It's like Resident Evil 4 remake. Sometimes worse than the og, sometimes better. Of course it's not at the same level as the first Resident Evil remake, but few remakes are. I think only N.Sane Trilogy, Reignited Trilogy and CTR NF are worthy of being called perfect remakes. And of course the first REmake is the best remake of all time.
if you pay very close attention. you realize that the first letter of every chapter in the game spells out “NICOLE IS DEAD”. Truly a masterpiece.

This game was a pillar for my love of anything and everything horror related. Fond memories of going to a mates house for sleepovers playing games late into the night, and playing this at midnight at 14 years old was next level fear! Enjoyed watching your play through my guy and can't wait to platinum it myself! Well done

The centrifuge is one of the more obvious examples of the remake defying the expectations of veteran players. Reversing the direction you need to run in order to get out was a simple but brilliant move that means they can still catch OG Dead Space players off-guard. The number of things they change up just increases from there, which means even veteran players can still find the game refreshing, and that's before the Intensity Director.

I've been waiting for this platinum video, I've been replaying the original Dead Space, and now I can't wait to replay the remake. Honestly, it seems like a remake done right.

For anyone not wanting to full restart if and when you die, you can just quit to main menu before death animation finishes and load your previous save.
Also save before pressing buttons, not after.
Some people got all the way to the end only to get soft locked & had to restart cuz they saved after pressing a button that soft locked the game.
IIRC didn't they already patch out that exploit with recent patches?

I never played the OG Dead Space but I did beat Dead Space 2 on Hardcore (and recently I also did it with only the Plasma Cutter, skipping only a handful of encounters towards the end). Seeing you beat the full game, side quests included, on your first run on Impossible with only the Plasma Cutter is really inspiring! I hope I can manage to pull this off once I get the chance to buy it. Major congrats!

Nice work on the platinum! I recently got all the achievements on the original Dead Space after years of being too afraid and the power trip you get from knowing all the spawn triggers is amazing. Really want to try the remake now.

I recently got the trophy with 3 attempts; first death was from a infector, second was from a game crash, and thirdly finally got it on a off day. Love the game and love watching these kind of playthroughs for Dead Space.

Getting Mercer's Prototype Stasis is a must for me, it makes encounters far more easier because it also does damage while slowing them down, it's so good that it it allows you to kill a necromorphs in a couple stomps

Getting 1000gs for this on the Series X was nerve racking as it was my first playthrough of the Remake and I started on Impossible as well. It was very well done imo. Callisto Devs (Original Dead Space devs) should take notes from this.
Why do they need to make notes? They made a new game too many of you couldn't stop comparing to Dead Space which was a shit thing to do as a first issue.
I don't think they need to take notes from shit they made as it was a spiritual successor to Dead Space in itself but still.

so fun fact, if you completed the side mission about the hunters' origin before killing him, Isaac instead of cursing the hunter will be be sympathetic to Harris for alll Mercer had made him go through, which I think is a pretty neat attention to detail.

What i think thats funny about these type of horror games (shooting horror) where theres a horde of set creature. The main character is 1 person, and you take them and probably get out, YET a group of people who we just watch die forgets that theyve been surviving the whole time and die for some reason besides introducing a creature

I did a similar thing with this, starting on impossible and combining it with the one gun trophy, then I cleaned everything else up on NG+ with the devil horn weapon which was really fun.
Just got back from Amsterdam and this is was perfect for me to chill out and watch 30 minutes of a classic!

Yet another amazing video! Although, I don't know if this was patched yet, but if you die on impossible you can quit to the main menu before the screen fades to black and your impossible save doesn't go away. I'm sure that would have been useful if you don't mind cheese like that😅

Hell yeah dude I love the dead space trilogy so when I heard about they are going to remake the first game I was excited so when it got out I was happy this game looks beautiful and creepy it changes a lot when they put a new ending,side mission, Issac talks when in the original he doesn't

Fun tidbit: If you do the Brant Harris side quest chain before killing the hunter, Isaac's dialog changes slightly when killing the hunter with the rocket engine.

I remember how happy I was to Platnium the original Dead Space game on PS3. Dead Space 1 & 2 are still one of my personal favourite survival horror games and I don't know if I will try to platnium the second game, but we shall see. But considering how hard Dead Space 2 Platnium trophy was, the Dead Space remake really feels like a kick in the balls, especially when you play the game on the hardest difficulty.

Impossible Run plasma cutter only was a lot of tense fun. Played hard mode first, jumped right into Impossible mode, then finished NG+, currently on my 4th playthrough maxing out all weapons 100% for my last achievement. Dead Space Remake is absolutely phenomenal. Loved it 🔥 🔥 We need a Dead Space 2 remake

I swear this isnt a flex...but I was shocked how easy it was to do impossible. I was ready to use the exploit of leaving to main menu during the death animation but I never died...drops arent reduced at all. Had several weapons upgraded and had max inventory quite often if you look in every nook and cranny. Wasn't that much different from easy at all. Most nerve-wracking parts were environmental obstacles as you mentioned

Well, it is said it's hard mode but if you die you restart or move down to hard. Perhaps it's because you're just better than average. But for the average gamer, I can bet that this was a really hard mode
@@drewarnett3180 I don’t know about that…I’d argue a lot of people could probably do this! As far as hard mode goes in relation to other games this has to be the most relaxed version of a hard difficulty Ive seen for the above reasons mentioned. I’d encourage people to try it! Most games on hard have fewer resources given to you…be it money, ammo etc. this game on hard has no reduction in these resources and the damage taken and given is not considerably different. I don’t know the exact percentage but it’s not night and day difference. I could have sworn the original dead space on hard was more difficult than this.

My favourite little secret in Dead Space 1 is the one hidden in the chapter names, I'm glad they kept it in the remake.
Loved the video. Was intending to get this soon. How hard would you say impossible mode is for someone that hasn’t previously played the game? Would it be better to do three play throughs so that there aren’t as many restrictions in the first play through or do you think it’s easy enough and not worth the time of having to do an extra run?
I’m currently playing Callisto Protocol. Enjoying it so far. Will check out you video on that one.
Honestly if you use the cheese method where you exit right before the death animation plays impossible is not bad at all! If you dont start with Impossible the youll have to do 3 playthroughs so its really up to you!

The impossible difficulty seems so intimidating and in the first 4 chapters it is. After you get some upgrades on the Plasma Cutter it’s a beast. After the halfway part of the game it’s pretty easy. I used the PC and flamethrower(it’s crazy OP even with no upgrades) and the game was surprisingly easily

I just got this platinum yesterday. I was terrified of impossible difficulty, but I decided to step up to the challenge and my first playthrough of dead space (never played the og) was on impossible. I got all the collectibles on this save file as well. I was terrified of impossible and would upload my save to the cloud at the start of every chapter just knowing I would die at some point, but surprisingly I never needed to cheese it. I got through the game without dying on my very first attempt! I did save scum and would reload my save if I lost too much health during an encounter or used too much ammo as I had no idea how many resources I would need. Ended up beating the game having only used like 2 medpacks and having spare ammo constantly. It was a lot of fun to say the least. I understand why people love this game.

When they announce the remake of Dead Space I was really happy: for me it was a very important game. In fact, it was my first horror game❤
0:55 Don't even need to do this, but you should anyway as you can die AS you save and then loop endless death.
HOWEVER, you can simply pause the game upon hearing the flatline and quit to menu as there is a brief time after flatline that the game does NOT register it as a death and in that time frame you can just hit quit to menu and reload your previous save.
No muss, no fuss.
