Jeff and Beau must have inherited their coolness from their dad. I never knew that Daddy Bridges could sing. Wow! I do remember Sea Hunt though. Live long and prosper, Jeff!
My mom worked for a doctor that both Lloyd and Dorothy Bridges were patients. She would always tell me how nice and genuine they were. The doctor also had a large salt water fish tank in the office (in fact it was one of the tanks from the movie "Slpash") Lloyd always was looking at at it and would tell my mom about stories from "Sea Hunt". She also said that Lloyd & Dorothy had a great relationship even when Lloyd was falling in his old age. Some "Hollywood" stories just for PR but with Lloyd Beau & Jeff Bridges they are genuine
I sat next to him and his wife at a Talking Heads concert in the 80s. Nice? Nicest man on the planet! He and I played elbow hockey, and talked about his dad (I was a huge fan). It was a perfect night, and I will never forget him for giving me that.
Wow, seeing Lloyd Bridges brings back memories. I absolutely loved his TV show Sea Hunt back in the day and never missed an episode. Probably saw him on the Ed Sullivan show too since my family always watched that too. Jeff has made some great movies as well. Love his attitude towards life.
Damn, I wish the audience would have applauded when Jeff mentioned the film, TUCKER. It's such a wonderful film, and with exceptional cinematography. Love this man❤
❤ for Jeff Bridges and Stephen. Thanks for all the joy and love of life you've brought into our lives! And to Jeff: you made a wonderful "alien' but an even better human. Cheers!
OH WOW!!! I didn’t remember that Lloyd Bridges could sing!🎶 I was a big Sea Hunt AND Ed Sullivan Show fan way back then! What a legend, and what a great voice! I saw Man of La Mancha with Richard Kylie and didn’t know that Lloyd Bridges had replaced him. That’s awesome! 🤩💖
Lloyd Bridges and Leslie Nielsen were my childhood heroes. I still die of laughter watching them in Airplane! or in Bridges' case, Hot Shots and Seinfeld. Such amazing comedic talent and I can't believe I didn't know that he was a talented singer.
My thoughts exactly!! I need to work with older people. When I use an Airplane or Hot Shot quote around the young kids I work with, the joke either goes over their heads or I get a blank stare.
Lloyd and my aunt Violet attended Petaluma High School together. She always had great things to say about him as a young man. Such a talented family tree!
I've loved Jeff Bridges since I was a little girl watching TRON on VHS almost every week. I don't know how he does it, but he still makes me melt somehow... He's like a kinder, more laid-back version of my own dad. Funnily enough, my mom had her own crush on Lloyd Bridges when she was a kid, and I can certainly see why! Such an amazing line of kind and talented guys!
Just gotta say, I watched days of Jeff Bridges close up as an extra on Tucker. And his talent, incredible work ethic & professionalism truly blew my mind. Great movie btw if you haven’t seen it. I got to ride in a Tucker, absolutely amazing car…
@@dianethomas2279 you’re thinking of Leslie Neilson. Lloyd played the air traffic control supervisor. “Not a good time to quit smoking”.lol. Leslie played the doctor on board “and don’t call me Shirley”.

Two of my favorite gentlemen. Speaking of fathers...Charlotte is remembering Stephen Colbert's father and older brothers, who were killed on 9/11/74 in a plane crash here at the Charlotte airport. Dr. Colbert was working for the C.D.C. at the time and may have been its head doctor. Probably funniest anyway. Bless their memories.
I always remember being introduced to Jeff Bridges in the 1976 'Christmas Blockbuster' King Kong. Bridges At 27 years old. Jessica Lange at 27 also. Definitely promoted to the hilt in 76.
The Old Man series is GREAT & so is Jeff Bridges. I followed his dad in Sea Hunt & love that Beau & Jeff were encouraged to follow him into the business. Jeff's cancer scared me - as well as him! I'm grateful he got successful treatment & is well. Remarkable stories. Joy! Joy! Joy! *ps: If you want to see Jeff at his scariest, try The Jagged Edge with Glenn Close. (1985)
"The Old Man" is an excellent show. I am really looking forward to seeing the second season in the upcoming weeks. If you haven't seen the first season, definitely worth checking out. I believe its on FX and Hulu.
I worked with his dad which was a big thrill for me because I loved Sea Hunt when I was a boy… never missed an episode… Lloyd was a wonderful man. I met Beau at wrap party. We were seated at the same table and talked for a while. But I never met Jeff…
I just adore Jeff Bridges! That said, of course wealthy people are happier, there are so many things they don't have to worry about. And they can take nice vacations. They're treated with respect because they're wealthy. We grew up poor and not only were there a lot of hardships and worries, but the cherry on top was always the fact that people treated us as "less than" for being poor. My parents worked hard and my Dad worked very long hours. We got help from other relatives and still struggled for 25 years. Our educations put us in great debt that we had to dig ourselves out of. I went to schools with wealthy kids and I can definitely attest to the fact that wealthy people have a lot more to be happy about.
He is not happy because he is wealthy. He is happy and contented because he's lived a good life which he worked hard for and earned. He's been married to a wonderful woman for nearly 50 years who gave him 3 wonderful children and all are relatively in good health - and that counts for a lot in life. Wealth alone does not necessarily bring happiness or wealth should not be respected purely for itself. There are so many wealthy people living miserable lives - especially the ones who did not earn but inherited their wealth. They squander their parents'/grandparents' money on drugs, alcohol and useless material stuff and exploit/abuse other people with the power that money brings. A lot of them also think that just because they have money, they are somehow better than the rest and act arrogant and mean towards people who have less. We do not need to envy them - we just need to ignore these kinds of people and live our own lives as honestly and with as much dignity as we can.
Jeff Bridges is the man. Fun, cool guy in real life. Like in the clip, don't mess with an old guy they will bite you in the face if needed, experience and treachery will usually win!
🌈Jeff Bridges shows that he loves his work and loves people… Great to have him on the great Stephen Colbert show!😘😘😘 I truly hope, I can get Mr. orange into a second debate. He has no restraint, so she will have him barking and jumping through hoops again.

What instrument did he play, and did someone build it for him in a cave? With a box of scraps?

You can always tell when Stephen is genuinely excited about a guest. Jeff Bridges is definitely one of them.❤
Glad to see Jeff looking good after his health concerns. He is such a classic.
Yes! That was scary for a minute there and damn he looks great now. ☺️
Jeff Bridges is in a class of his own. One of the best actors and a great character, artist, photographer, musician and human being.
