Internationally renowned Indian writer and Booker Prize winner Arundhati Roy, has told ITV News she fears for the survival of her country's democracy under Prime Minister Modi.
Ahead of India's elections next year, ITV News has been investigating the surge in shocking attacks on Muslims by Hindu extremists, including many fatal, across the country.

If this sort of thing happened in any African, Middle Eastern or South Asian Country, you could easily expect UN Human Rights, NATO or any organisation to be on the case. First thing the demolished property was illegally construction on government land. They were given notice several times before that. Secondly, these guys killed 2 police officers and 3-6 hindus of a passing religious ceremony from nearby village. They first attacked hindus with proper pre-planning, burned more than 200 vehicles and people saved themselves by hiding in a nearby temple.
