Shane J have never victimized anyone in that house not even himself all she has stood up for are those kids watching this and thinking wow Ann is just like my mom or grandmother and she makes me feel like I’m not good enough to be loved because I’m gay or I dress a certain way and that is such a horrible example for these kids
Alejandra Huerta Growing up a gay kid there were plenty of "grown ups" that had that attitude and I did see them as an authority figure. Whether it was an aunt, teacher, someone on tv or a friends mum. I respected my elders and when they had that clear cut disapproval it hurt every which way and I was terribly confused/insecure about what I was actually supposed to be ashamed of.
I zipped up and was a closed book for a lot of my youth and didn't share my interests or even studied subjects that interested me, or wore clothes that I liked. I projected a very bland, mildly depressed but a supposedly "straight" male persona while knowing who I was on the inside was so much more.
The message here is SO important

Well it is, people had enough, and it’s not just here in Britain, millions of people, mostly from working-class backgrounds in most EU counties have had enough of the EU and rising up to it. When people have very little but having to pay their hard working taxes to a federal organisation which dictates laws and rules and employs its own members without any vote process from the people that pay their over- extravagant wages, when globalisation has failed, when the few get richer and the masses become poorer, people do eventually rise up, just like slavery. Britain stuck her middle finger up to a bunch of elitist bureaucrats when we voted for Brexit.

Shane is educating people here. May be he sees this as a great platform and opportunity to spread awareness, positive messages and empowerment for people who felt suppressed and discriminated against. He's above tedious dramas, which some people may prefer to watch. He opens conversations that actually matters, not small talks.
How exactly is he patronizing? Wayne came to him and said don’t be so serious when he’s been blind or enabling to Ann’s boorish and bullying behaviour for weeks. Shane simply said, look, I am standing up to Ann not for me or you, but because I know kids are watching and I want them to see a positive representation of homosexuality to counter Ann’s dismissiveness and disapproval. I think that’s amazing, and maybe Amanda and Wayne don’t understand that because they grew up in a time when they got used to being treated as outsiders who aren’t good enough, and they partly believe it... which is why they tolerate Ann.
