Loved the video and I use it a lot to prep myself mentally for sparring. Checked back on Joey's amateur career: 11-5. Took a lot of losses at the national level from guys with unimpressive records. Doesn't have great feet or head movement and eats a lot of long shots and counters in national bouts. Decent pro debut though and this video has helped me a lot. The lesson I take is stay relaxed and keep the volume up. And future success is often hyped but rarely delivered. It takes several phenomenal skills combined to succeed.

Why are you wearing groin protections that large? Is that really necessary?
I am genuienly curious because I don't know much about boxing and haven't seen those before.

Having your first amateur fight with only 6 months of training is pretty damn good. Performing like that in your first amateur fight is on another level. I remember it took me a year of training just to feel like I had a grasp of my range. Impressive kid.
