Over the years I’ve noticed Seth does this thing where he takes a step or half step back with his lead leg into a square stance or into southpaw. I would love to see him develop a technique to throw from this stance specifically (a check right hook or even left uppercut off rythm) he doesn’t attack after switching stances, so it’s possible to just blitz forward because he’ll only try to reset. It’s clear he’s improved a lot, however.
Good round, great techniques and i love the control from both of you. Would love to see more sparring footage on the page! With and without commentary were both good in this video!

I like the shoulder bump by Seth to make space off the wall. Your body punching was phenomenal. Seth put up a good round, but between the body punching and the leg kicking, he'd have a hard time the longer it went.

I was pretty impressed overall. But there are 2 things that you can't really assess in light sparring. 1. Ability to take a shot. 2. Ability to keep pace if I turned it up. But he did well and was trying to focus on a karate style to replicate potential opponents I may face. Maybe that's not his ideal style.
Hey, Gabriel! Before sparring do you make a quick strategy what exactly you are going to do or just go with a flow and see? It's usually relates to a training in classes when you spar against different guys. Thank you 🙏🏻
Let's be honest, if Seth would have had the mentality and training like other big guys he could (and would) run most people down. Instead he is using technique. Surprisingly smart man.
- move your feet. - Teep the shat out of them. To stomach and lead leg above the knee keeping distance. - spamming inside lowkick. Time it with the step of their lead leg. Cannot check when you just stepped and transferred weight onto the leg. - Spam check hooks angling out. - throw uppercut (fake) to make them shell up, then going hard to the body. So they will think twice of marching forward. - when they still cover the distance to infight and are better at it than you. Clinch with them to prevent infight.
Yeah I’m glad I never learned hook kicks and I think side kicks are better for emergency self defense when you don’t have time to face the attacker. This opinion comes from a TKD background too BTW.
