That 's Dick Witts introducing the band. His band 'The Passage' (or just 'Passage') did some interesting stuff - particularly for me the first two eps 'New Love Songs' and 'About Time' which included Tony Friel original bassist with The Fall.

LOVE this. It's a bummer that post-punk morphed so fast back then into more pop sounds. I guess bands were trying to keep up to pay the bills. Would love to have had more of this approach stick around longer from more bands.

The lyrics are like absurd and random and yet it works.
I like cute details like the green car always moves around, the red one's always stationary... when I take photos of the green car, they almost always come up blurred ahaha (the kids might not know back in the day this happened)
Julian changing lyrics too: "and they b***h about my white house" was not on the original...

That's fantastic. And great quality too. I remember Magazine doing Feed The Enemy on it (or Celebration) one followed the other but I forget the order. There must be some sensational stuff in the Granada TV archive when you take into account the bands on Granada Reports, So It Goes, Celebration and What's On. And that's before you get to specially made shows in the 80s or work back to stuff in the 60s (their early Beatles material is unparalleled).

Three years later........ there's a programme on Sky Arts on Fridays at 9pm called "Guy Garvey from the Vault" and it's dipping into the archive of Granada, Tyne Tees TV etc from the 70s and 80s. I think that clip was on it amongst many other previously unseen footage.

Interesting to see a drummer up front for a change. Not that I know anything about drumming but especially at 2:11 it sounds like he has to put so much effort on understanding what’s going on behind him that he can’t even afford a look at the camera and risk messing everything up. Though it could be only shyness. I don’t know. Presenter looks like Jason Bateman.

I still have it on vinyl from when it came out, I'll try and see if can post the other track on here; I can't do it from an I-phone as it doesn't have a turntable; I have a turntable but do not and will never own a 'Me-Phone' Must be some way to do it, have a LOAD OF OTHER STUFF ON VINYL FROM THOSE DAYS THAT'S NOT ON HERE, sorry caps lock, not ranting.
