Saw him live at Cardiff with this line up Crazyhead were supporting him. The Atmosphere was incredible...The fact I got beat up on the way home, in no way put a dampener on one of the best gigs I've seen.

I remember like it was yesterday he said he just wanted to be amused. Not happy, not rich, not in love. Amused. At the time I thought that was the worst thing I'd ever heard. I thought if I ever got that cynical you could just kill me. And now? I'd like to just remain amused. Thanks Julian.

An oddity is that his debut solo album from 1983/84 had the same name as this song but this song didn't appear until 1986.
