I believe this is people's most favourite out of the trilogy and even maybe the full lot. I remember being less bored with this one than the others I guess.
My all-time favourite movie, the character of Yoda is definitely the highlight of the movie. I get your problem with the film even if I don’t agree with it. It was also Kenny Baker playing R2-D2, not Jimmy Vee.
Ah my bad mate, he plays R2 in the later instalments, I got it mixed up 😂 But yeah I can get where you’re coming from that this is your favourite one, it is for a lot of people but I guess I’m kinda the odd one out lol. Thanks for watching 🙂
The Z strikes back with another classic banger. How are you doing today and how was your day. I have been noticing you got your hot tub time machine and going back in time with these classic. I do appreciate you bringing the classics such as Star Wars and other movies you have enjoy. One of the best star wars movie due to classic acting, storyline, drama, and of course the action.
Interesting take. This normally is everyone’s favorite Star Wars movie. It’s my second favorite Star Wars movie. My favorite part is the light saber fight between Luke and Darth Vader.
In those Dagobah scenes, and in 1980, we didn't actually know that little green dude was Yoda, a Jedi master. That was a mad reveal TBF. I haven't seen this, or any of the original films for a while. But I would like to watch them again. The later ones, it's like pulling teeth trying to sit through them now. It is a generation thing I reckon.
Hey Nick! That’s cool to hear about at the time, this is a crazy reveal which I can to a degree see why as it’s not really expected UNLESS you’ve seen them as I have now in 2024 and seen the prequels first 😂 I’ll be intrigued to hear your takes on the newer movies and older ones if you watched them now
@@DidYouZThat When I had Disney+ I attempted the later movies a few times, the Adam Driver ones .... Just couldn't stick with them and watch very far into them.
@@nickpellatt I agree with you Nick, I think I've only seen the first one, or Episode 7 all the way through in one sitting. I've seen the others but in parts, watch fall asleep, pick it back up... I just felt they lost their way and eventually did their best to ruin the whole series. (Obviously they didn't intend to do that, but it sure seemed like it at times.) I really wish we ALL could know how George Lucas honestly felt about about the last three.
This for me is my favourite Star Wars movies and in my top 5 movies of all time but I can def see where your coming in the 2nd act maybe not the best scenes with Yoda and Luke but still entertaining def not surprised that the vfx look outdated but great review man
Actually agree with your comments about the second act, Luke and Yoda and the training, but if you were to read the book, you'd probably appreciate how short the movies scenes are, as the book could almost make you fall asleep. I get it though, there is a lot of substance to being a Jedi. As you saw in the prequals, most Jedi start as young children and the training takes years if not decades. Yoda didn't have that luxury of time with Luke, nor did Kershner. Even though this came out before the prequals, it was our first chance to really see Jedi training, and even Yoda tried to say Luke, and even Anakin years before, was too old, meaning there wasn't enough time to train a new Jedi in the case of Luke. (Not to mention Yoda knew quite well what happened to Anakin and his "failed training." Which we didn't know at the time.) In the eyes of us who did see it back in 1980, while the training was rather boring to watch, it really did explain a lot to us, the viewers, as to what the Force was, how it worked and of course how a Jedi could use it. Fear and anger leads to the Dark Side.... Because of these long boring scenes we saw, once the prequals did come out, what Yoda and Luke did in these scenes, it made the prequals make more sense to us. Or at least it did to me. Of the three original movies, this is my least favorite, even though a lot of information was passed on to us, and the new characters. I've rated it an 8.5 out of 10, mainly because I don't care for cliff-hangers. And as a young man, waiting three more years to know if what we heard in the movie was true, what happened to one of our favorite characters, well you know what I mean. It is however in my top three of the Star Wars movies, just barely beating Rogue One. If they were both on TV at the same time on different channels I'd pick Rogue One to watch only because I haven't watched it as many times as I've seen Empire. I understand your review, and "if I were in your shoes" so to speak would completely agree with you. But as a fan who saw the Skywalker Saga in the order they were released, 4,5,6,1,2,3, I think you'd understand better how we viewed the film differently. (Yes I've seen 7,8, & 9. 😑) Thanks! I'm looking forward to your Return of the Jedi review!!
Woo hoo! I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks this about the training scene, I was thinking maybe I’m the only one 😂 However I can appreciate now having seen Return of the Jedi, that this scene was pretty integral. I didn’t know about the books, I have never read them of course and you’re right, having seen the prequels only elevate and add so much levity to these original movies. 8.5/10 is still a very solid score and I can understand that too. Especially as this is a one that is well loved by most. I appreciate your comment with the in-depth and passion behind it. I can also get why fans who watched originals and then prequels would appreciate and see the Skywalker saga differently
My favorite movie of all time. So, some of your negatives can kick rocks, but I’m glad you’re finally seeing these properly, brotha. Even if I wanna fight you sometimes 😂
I believe this is people's most favourite out of the trilogy and even maybe the full lot. I remember being less bored with this one than the others I guess.
Yeah this is one that is most people’s favourite movies of Star Wars. I can get why but I still did like it
Yeah I always hear a lot of praise for this one. Seems like for many it’s their favorite. I’ll get to it eventually.
You’re right, it gets huge praise and I can understand why. However it’s not my favourite of the original trilogy 🙂
Hi Mike Empire strikes back is my favourite movie of all time
Hey Harry! That’s amazing to hear that it’s your favourite movie, I can see why and I think it will be most people’s too
My all-time favourite movie, the character of Yoda is definitely the highlight of the movie. I get your problem with the film even if I don’t agree with it. It was also Kenny Baker playing R2-D2, not Jimmy Vee.

I was wondering who Jimmy V was. I was like the guitar player on Late Night with Conan O’Brien?
Love the review!
Thank you bro!

Yeah, I have been going in the Time Machine going back to some classics that people call. I definitely agreed this was a really good Star Wars movie.
Interesting take. This normally is everyone’s favorite Star Wars movie. It’s my second favorite Star Wars movie. My favorite part is the light saber fight between Luke and Darth Vader.
Yeah it’s everyone’s favourite normally Jason I agree, but yeah not for me
Probably THE BEST Star wars movie for me personally. Also you almost had me but you saved yourself XD
Yeah I thought it would be, it seems to be for 99% of people 😂
Definatly my Favourite 👍
I know I’m probably one of the odd ones out on it mate 😂
