to get the definition of shonen out of the way before anyone watches, shonen is a the (japanese) young male demographic, so from elementary school age to high school age range. i don't know where the fuck late teens to early 20s came from.
@@hiimpranav It is not really. What the shonen are better at nowadays IS grabbing your attention from the getgo. Jjk is the best example for that. Hype but the quality is lacking in some areas. Chainsaw Man is also similiar. I dont think the quality got necceseraly better because the best written are from back then (OP, Fma, bleach, Hxh, Yuyu, Death Note etc)
@GioHimonPro this just comes down to opinion but just having a good first chapter doesnt get people to keep reading, hunter hunter and one piece are my favorite stories ever but pretending like they are perfect compared to the newer stories is kind of a stretch, all these manga have multiple small flaws some bigger than others and thats just because of the weekly format its just not possible to perfectly present a story like this, one piece is probably the closest to being completely coherent and even it has consistent plot holes and repeated tropes, also saying chainsaw man is just starting hype is just 💀
@@hiimpranav I never said that. I am just saying modern shonen are better at creating hype. You claimed that modern shonen are Overall better and I disagree. I never said that op or hxh were perfect. Even with their flaws they are better works than what is presented today.
It's cool to see a newer anime fan on the pod, but that HxH take is pretty depressing even though he's favourite is MHA, and definitely shows he's new to the medium also dubbed anime is definitely better overall nowadays and the animation quality feels/looks better overall too even with the generic isekai they pump out xD
This is garbage you cannot sit here and say that new anime is surpassing the old anime the old animes like Cowboy Bebop has put all these New gen animes on the map Dragon Ball Z did the same thing as well your take is bad one piece and , Hunter x Hunter in Dragon Ball Z is the best the old gen is always going to be better
Shonen manga nowadays might have a faster pacing but it's kinda detrimental. Like some things aren't set up properly and things just happen because of plot convenience (Fire Force, MHA). The story consistently forces these characters into situations that they shouldn't be in. And I'm not a fan of the trope where the male MC has to chase after a strong female person (Kaiju, Wysteria). It's a shallow motivation. Imagine if a girl had THAT goal. They'd be called spineless and USELESS. Like bro just make a character that's self-motivated, girl or boy
This overly fast pacing is JJK's greatest weakness and leads to a lot of the problems afflicting it in the manga. Info dumps on abilities because we never get a chance to see things shown more naturally, questions never to be answered because that would mean giving time to things outside of the immediate main plot, character interactions that will just never happen, overall lack of setup for the final confrontation to feel satisfying, ect.
@@raitorino7520 Season 1 is almost entirely setup for season 2, which starts with the best arc in the series and ends with the most shocking arc that pays off all the set up. The series has major, and I mean MAJOR issues, but it does have strengths as well..
OP & HXH was a poor choice to put in the thumbnail😬
I hope Zeusy took some quality anime recommendations out of this 🙏 😅 and maybe change his outlook on HxH and broaden that anime scope.
Yeah he gotta wake up to the HxH greatness, and fasho we gotta have him back on some day

Havent seen the fully video yet but no. The old Anime are better in terms of quality especially those two in the thumbail (OP & HxH)
that could be true but the average quality of shonen jump is much higher than it used to be, the bar is higher in general nowadays

@@joelsasmad YEP. I was gonna say JJK but they have a lot of die-hard fans. I agree. I only ever watched season 1. And I don't get the hype
