Great video, but I have to disagree on something. DO NOT use the screens as a beginner, because you will get used to it and then it will be way harder to start beatmatching by ear. I'd say looking at the screens only trains you to rely on it and as a result makes using your ears seem impossible later. Go, frustrate yourself in the beginning, it's worth it!
what is the solution for the phase for the first matching beat tip? is it ok to leave it playing as it is or should you cut the low for one of the tracks? thank you for all the tips. very helpful !!
Been mixing over a year, recently come aware of how dependent I am on waveforms 🤦 I have nv2 so I can simply turn my monitor off and look at the screens but it’s a big step back especially mixing DNB with all these lad sections 🙁 supposed to be using cdjs at Bristol in like 2 weeks so tryna grind to get my beat matching down 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Arman, I saw your video on mixing tracks that mesh but I was wondering if you could maybe do a video on the opposite. So how to mix tracks which fit each other in terms of vibe and build up, but are clashing keys. Thanks!
I've noticed this was some song some songs have a beat that sounds like a double slap even when it's completely perfectly on how do you beat match those how do you tell whether or not cuz there are some songs that have a beat that are produced with a slightly off clap I don't know if you ever seen a song like that
Do you think it's relevant to learn how to beatmatch by ear with controllers such as DDJ-RB ? I mean I have the feeling that the controller is not enough technically accurate to do it
I started on a Numark controller back in 2014. I learned to beatmatch on that and it was easlily carried over once I played on the club standard setup!
Beatmatching by ear is a basic skill every dj should know! Even in this digital era. The trick is in making small corrections while paying attention to your Cue channels, just like you’d do in Vinyl . You don’t need your songs to be at the same exact bpm, just trust your ears, ride the pitch, move platters and well, beatmatch by ear!
Just bought ddj400 and audio technica atx50m headphones. Thank you for an easy tutorial 😎 See you on gigs, hehe
This is great!! Wish there was something like this when I started, would have helped so much. Keep it up.
Excellent video. I've been djing for over 10 years now but learning how others do it is enriching.
Thank you bro for these type of videos they help me to improve my skill a lot

Thank you for the vid, the last tip you mentioned regarding slippage has been my main issue when beat matching
