At last, some hope for the Red Wolf. Thank you for the video.

I grew up on the MD/PA line and recently moved to the far east side of Washington County, NC. When I was younger, I had a glass cup with a big red wolf along with facts showing me this endangered species. It was my favorite cup. I don’t know what happened to it haha.
Fast forward and somehow I ended up moving just outside of their territory and drive through the alligator river national wildlife refugee everyday for work.
Sadly, the note about vehicle morality is such a reality. Thankfully they have those huge flashing signs alerting drivers of the endangered animals that could be crossing the old albemarle highway. I feel like that has brought a ton of awareness. The biggest factor I personally see for the ability to expand this species territory in the area is the hunting that is done between Columbia and the alligator river bridge. I honestly can’t imagine the wolves expanding their territory with the craze of dog hunting out here. They don’t just sit in a tree stand and wait quietly and patiently. They run loud massive groups of hunting dogs during hunting season and during the off season for training. Other than that, I’m glad that there’s people out there making the difference! Thanks all.
