I've watched a lot of donkey videos. This thoughtful film introduced me to a wider world of how donkeys are suited to different environments and tasks. Side note: I was surprised that Snowflake's trail training was done solo, and not in the company of a veteran donkey. I was also surprised to learn that donkey's do not have waterproof coats. And I was impressed at how donkeys can take over and perform tasks with little or no human supervision.
This has to be the most interesting information about Donkeys I've ever seen and heard. But then there's the way it was photographed that was absolutely amazing. Thank You and Hats Off.
I knew little about donkeys, and heard the stereotypes that they're slow, stubborn and not too bright. Everyone knows that to be called an ass or jackass is a put-down. But I sensed that donkeys were good companions from seeing other videos. Now I have a real appreciation for their intelligence, strength, durability and loyalty. Love those big kind eyes and those great radar ears!
may be they feel how we feel about them. many farmers don't love animals, beat them and treat them like a object without soul and feelings. no wonder why they are stubborn. i love animals they feel it and i have good relationship with them, but its not only love, one should know body language.
I had a donkey and he was an a 2:11 sshole. Killed my dog and cat . I was working on something and he snuck up on me rearing and hoofed me my back. He no longer has a happy home . He's out on 100 ac gets no grain has some horses that are as mean as he is .
Yesterday I visited a local donkey sanctuary, one that I used to volunteer at. Joey, a standard donkey, was always my favourite. He stood still by the fence, allowing all the visitors to pet and touch him, I wrapped my arms around his head and cuddled him. These animals are surely one of the most amazing creatures on earth, absolutely smart, fearless, intuitive, affectionate. Joey was beaten with a baseball bat by his previous owner and then abandoned, tied to a tree in a field. It took him awile to trust humans again, he wouldn't come near for a long time. But now, the sanctuary owner says she would 100 % trust Joey with a young toddler or infant!
Oh my gosh. That makes me want to vomit. People can be so cruel. I really don’t understand it. Thank you for helping take care of him. Glad he’s doing so much better!!
I adore Donkeys, Mules and Burros! Also, a little horse in WWII would transport military items back & forth on the front line of combat, just like this donkey is doing in this video. Her name was Sgt Reckless. There are videos on YT about her amazing story.
This video is amazing! The information and pictures about donkeys are extremely interesting and expand my knowledge about these lovely friends. Thank you SLICE WILD for providing such an interesting and informative document!
I never knew so many amazing characters of these wonderful and hard working animals, I repeated twice and enjoyed watching, felt very happy thanks for such good documentary🎉
A rainbow, why? Do I put up some flag that says I'm a straight man and like women. Nope, nobody cares and most don't want to see your freaky rainbow. No wonder my country has gone to pot. Shameful....
Donkeys are fascinating animals. I have trusted them to watch over the goat herd I tended just before I left for the military. No one or thing ever messed with the goats while my donkey was on guard duty. He was a brazen animal and never let anyone come near my goats. And I wanted to buy another German Shepherd dog, what was I thinking? Very nice documentary about Donkeys.
I've had the privilege to take daily care of a she-donkey for 4 years. Before that, I was already very familiar with horses, but this was very different. Donkeys can not be made to do what one wants, one needs to establish trust and affection with them. Once that's done, one can ask them almost anything. She was very unyielding towards my dog Kate, who on her side, was sociable with almost any other animals. I've spent much of my life educatin dogs and socialising them and love to do so. With this donkey it was quite a job, but a pleasant and rewarding one. With my cats there never was a problem, one of them even played on the donkey's back and kept falling off when he tried to catch her swishing tail. At other times he'd just sit on a fence post with her sniffing at him. I learned a lot from her and that's what it's all about with animals : learning from them how to befriend them. I have a very fond memory of a circus elephant who was standing alone, tied to a picket with one foot and visibly bored. I walked up to her cautiously looking at how she reacted. When finally I stepped clos and stroked her trunk, she embraced me with it,and snorted gently at me.

One thing I've read about donkeys not specifically mentioned is that oftentimes they are used to protect herds from wolves and danger because they are so brave & ferocious. So interesting 😊
Yes it is !
Oh man, I cried alone too see the young one taken away from the mother. It's heartbreaking to see the mother following to say goodbye to her young.
That was heart breaking ,totally selfish and unnecessary. What made it sadder was it roaming around trying to get accepted by her adult new peers and get the cold shoulder, then hearing her sad little cry.I definitely felt alot better when I saw her get attention and affection towards the end.
A beautiful tireless companion and work mate . They make for great watch animals and are fearless protectors. He has his bases covered ❤ with Donkeys , dogs , and a Lama . I would like to own some donkeys one day if it’s feasible ?
All are God's Great Makings❤
Lovely documentary! ❤

There is so much intelligence programmed into all of these wonderful animals! I loved seeing them all working together, using their various strengths/instincts to complete the journey. 🥰🥰🥰
