That throttle control that you have in the bag looks like the gear falcon v3. But if im not mistaken, the gear falcon v3 is designed for brushless motors. Are you planning on removing the potentiometer, and replacing it with the one from one of your PWMs to give you a more authentic looking throttle, instead of just turning a dial?
Well I'm not going to build this throttle until I figure out how to waterproof it. With that said yes you'll have to remove the potentiometer and install a 10K pot. Then you'll need to solder 1K resistors on each side. Then it will have to be hooked into a Servo tester before going to the esc.
Hello, I already bought the 880 esc. What type of battery do you use? I use a deep cycle lead one. In the instructions for the esc it says that it can only be used with lithium batteries. now i don't know what to do you can help?
No but I don't think the wires on this particular esc will handle a 55lb TM. You'd have to go with a pwm. I do have a video coming out on an esc that will handle a 55lb tm. That is as long as the testing goes good.
I have hooked up the ESC 880 and programed it, linked to controller to the transmitter solid green light and when I hook everything to the lithium battery turn it on nothing happens. Is the light on the ESC supposed to stay on red or does it flash red when you turn it on and it goes off. I can figure if the ESC is bad or I am missing a step. Do you have any suggestions?
The ECS will not flash a light but the transmitter will flash red until the controllers hooked up then it should be green. When you programmed your ESC what value do you have for item number two and three? Also I have a video of my build being posted today
I followed your instruction, and later decided to check the cable to the transmitter, I switched it around and the motor and controller works, what I have to figure out is why the toggle knob on the controller you have to go to the right for forward and left for reverse instead of up for forward and down for reverse.
@@danielforrester8078 if you look in the box the controller came in there should be a manual in there look under a setting called "Channel Positive and Negative", then follow the direction from there. If you don't have the manual let me know and I will give you the instructions.
The input wires on this ESC are too thin, 16awg. How are they holding up? I got a 40lb motor (Intex) that can pull 35A, do you think the wires will hold up or melt?
I wouldn't put more than 35amps on those wires. There is another esc that is capable of more amps. www.yeahracing.com/yeah-racing-1-10-tritronic-4x-waterproof-brushed-120a-esc-esc-4x-00108456
@@WillSelbyKayakFishing wish I knew this before I got the HW. I'll give the HW a try, if it fries then I'll get the more expensive YR Tritonic, although I could also just remove a Castle Creations ESC from one of my RC cars and use it. Thanks!
i sure could use your help with my 880 build. i have gone thru 3 esc and no workie. no power out to the trolling motor ,
I would be happy to help. I'm actually posting my video up of how I built mine in detail tonight or tomorrow morning it should be up on the channel
Also, can you give such a walkthrough for the best crawling results? This was very straight to the point. 🎯
I couldn't help you with the crawling part. Mine is strictly for fishing
Ok you got me I need to see the little thruster handle thing in the bag! When's that video coming out?
Thank you for all your hard work.
Cheers m8.

do you like this set up more than a regular pwm? seems like better wiring than what you find in pwm, really appreciate your videos by the way
Hi
Thanks for your videos. Watching from Australia 🇦🇺
Does the 880 esc come with a fan?
Hi! Wondering if you sell any of the PWM's you build?
I'd be happy to make you one. I'm just not sure what to charge.
Hello, I already bought the 880 esc.

In the instructions for the esc it says that it can only be used with lithium batteries.
now i don't know what to do
you can help?
I'm pretty sure you can use it with a lead-acid battery I know you can use an AGM you just have to program the ESC for that type of battery.
What is “trolling”, in relation to the hobby? New term for Me.
It's just used to move your trolling motor forward and backward that's it nothing special
Will the program change for a 50lb trust motor

Thanks for the reply I currently have a pwn setup but just find it’s not always reliable
Hoping the esc might be better

The fan comes with the ESC.
I don't think they Supply the fans with the ESC anymore the one I have it came with. Thanks for watching
@@WillSelbyKayakFishing Maybe. Last time I bought one was a year ago
Yeah that's one of the older ones
@@WillSelbyKayakFishing I went to the Hobbywing website. It def says fan no longer included. They sell the fans individually now.
