I'm pretty sure if the MSRP is $93,000 that the dealer in my area will be asking about $125,000 - $140,000. Buy it, put it in storage and in 10 years when all you can buy is EV's this car would probably be worth $300,000 - $400,000. Love that green, ........ paint that is.

I love the challenger, it's such a good looking car and that green is amazing. I never noticed how incredible raised haunches above the rear wheel arches, it's like the Bentley Continental GT.
And those gorgeous front lights, the inner Circular 3D cylindrical Headlights and the outer circular ones together look like a modernised version of the beautiful BMW's of the 80's and early 90's.

Yes the interior isn't as nice looking at the price point, it still has some of the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in. It's like driving a big recliner with 800hp haha. Thanks for bringing me this car. I had heard there was something special coming in 2022 tp 2024 in the Challenger line up. I love your enthusiasm and passion for this car. I honestly believe it's not hype, sincerely heartfelt and genuine. What's not to love about this car?
    Saying that,
I'd love to buy one, being an old school Mopar E-body guy. But 93K $ is too fat. The Challenger Super Stock is 91K $ equipped and a much more streamlined affair with no fat, it is all muscle. I think 80K $ tops would be more in line with reality. The F-8 Green (Fate Green), 2 (functional) scoops of fun in the hood, all the Jailbreak goodies, the side stripe imitating the old Nitro Cellulose black out treatments of the original Mopar Muscle Cars, the trim combinations in and out, the options, they suck you right in, and promise the driver more fun than 100 barrels of Monkeys! Fortunately, as a go round to the price point, I have 40 years working on and building cars, mostly Mopar. I can find a cheap 2012 or newer SRT-8 Challenger used, then build my own, right down to the colors, inside and out. Everything is available either used or new. Yea, it won't have the 8 speed, and all the flashy electronic play toys, and the new car smell. It won't be ready to go. BUT it can have a 6 speed manual, and 95% of the pedigree and street cred this car has, right down to the widebody and suspension, even the SC'd 6.1 or 6.2, or the Hellephant crate motor with 1000 hp. That's the nice thing about rolling your own. You get the car and don't spend the $$
Another option is wait till these hit the salvage auctions, buy one cheaper and rebuild it.
Reality is so many people living in post Covid19 real-world, with all the complicated geopolitical mess, financial uncertainty, even those predisposed to want this car and having the means to buy it , have to create a workaround to the prohibitively high sticker price. If you aren't someone like me, your only option to brand new is going to be to drop 60K or more to build one using a donor, and paying someone else. I can cut that number in 1/2, that is where I'm at in building my own version, not counting my time.
What I am not looking forward to is the post Challenger electrified world that promises to be so flat and uninspiring. I'm not a fan at all. I don't know how they are going to get people to buy battery powered cars. I guess if that is all there is to buy brand new, people will be forced to go electric.
    Go Mopar or go home!

Hey Joe and Lori, and the Raiti's Rides family how are y'all doing today? 😈
First of all I just want to thanks Joe and Lori for "spilling the tea" with all this automotive information.
Anyway the Dodge Challenger Hellcat is the last "real" muscle car that have a big ol' V8, but the cool thing is the Hellcat badge (for Dodge models) is the craziest thing that you can get from that model and have over 717 hp for the "standard hellcat", now this is a special edition "Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat REDEYE widebody Jailbreak" or just Dodge Challenger hellcat Jailbreak, with 807 hp *from* *a* *vehicle* *under* *100k* .
Anyway to keep it simple this car is insane and is a bargain for the power, only zonks are that the tech is abit outdated and that this much power shouldn't be allowed to everybody. (Oh and the plastic)

I just went on their online configurator and took one out to over $100K. Can't say I'm floored with their choice of colors considering that even the original came in the authentic yellow (Detonator Yellow was the name) with the dual black stripes down the middle. That mango whatever isn't either orange or yellow to be honest. As for the interior again I'm not that excited - I like the red option but a proper two tone black/red would have worked better IMO. Where are the white outside stripes??? It's all a half-hearted attempt to catch up to what the GT500 offers as far as color/stripe options goes.
I agree with you on the exhaust tips. Fortunately those are probably the easiest to fix with a trip to Magnaflow.
All this talk of electrification is starting to irk me. For one, the infrastructure just isn't there yet. Second, used cars are still going to be around that need gas. Third, you still haven't eliminated heavy vehicles, diesels, generators and other applications that cannot be electrified. Four, how do you solve the dead battery problem? Priuses today are being thrown out because it's cost prohibitive to do a battery swap on them once their packs die - and that's just a hybrid not even a full EV. In a world where the $6K EV becomes a throwaway the $4000 used gas car is still king.

    • @steelcowboy2751

The EV market is not consumer driven; it’s politically driven. I think EVs can have a role for commuting to work in some locations but they are a long, long was to being a practical replacement to gas powered cars. I can imagine the benefits of owing one of each. Overall, as a car guy and a Challenger owner; I’m very unhappy with the trend coming

    • @markalton4610

@@steelcowboy2751 I agree. I wouldn’t even mind having an ev for certain commutes but they are not practical for 85% of the population. The next move the elites will make is to limit movement. Unless of course, we tell them to shut the f up

    • @steelcowboy2751
      @steelcowboy2751 2 года назад +3

@@markalton4610 I agree. An EV for commuting back and forth to work for some people depending on where you live makes some sense but right now in the market; there are no quality built EVs on the market that have near the performance of combustion engine cars for the same price. They are cheaply designed and built; a lot of plastics in the interior; sub par brakes; etc. and the infrastructure simply isn’t there for eliminating gas cars.
The elites want to control the market instead of letting market forces dictate what products are offered; which I can’t stand. We can debate climate change but the truth is that fossil fuels are going to be needed significantly for many more decades to come. The politicians are going to permanently damage the day to day life if the average American buy it’s regulations on the auto manufacturers regardless of whether it’s what the American people want; and it will have a significant, detrimental impact on many Americans who don’t live in the inner cities and who have a love for cars as more than just a form of transportation.

Roll back his shitty policies and be the energy exporter we're supposed to be and let us citizens buy WTF we WANT! EVs are not what the majority of us want and are willing to spend our hard earned money on so why force it. The only reason they are purposely built to outperform gas cars is so they can have a purpose otherwise who would want them at all?

Joe and Lori...as always, thanks for the great content. Sold my 2021 Charger Redeye Widebody last summer because I could make a nice R.O.I. on it but didn't think about what I would have to do to replace it. So while thinking about that, I saw one of your Viper videos where you went bonkers on how much you loved that Gen V GTS...so you talked me into going in that direction while trying to see what to do about potentially getting one of the last Hellcats before the move to the Muscle EV Dodges. So I bought a 2014 gorgeous Viper GTS with low miles and love it. As you said, it is truly a Mopar unicorn. What a car! I may just keep that and not get into another Hellcat variant. Time will tell. Thanks for the Viper video...I think it really made a difference in my thinking. Now if only I could have bought this same car 6 to 12 months ago, I could have saved some serious coin. Keep up the great work...thanks, Mike

I agree. I just sold my Challenger T/A 392 to get a C8 HTC. The problem with Challengers is rear wheel traction. I couldn't even hook up on the street with my 485HP, so I hardly see the point of another 320HP. At the strip, 392's hang with Hellcats all day because the Hellcats just spin their tires. I did love my Challenger though. Super comfortable cruiser and looked great in plum crazy purple. But I'm ready for a more modern and exotic platform
