PlayStation has such a big catalogue to draw from and they’re not tapping into their full potential. Old titles like Infamous and, especially considering the failure of Concord, an FPS like Killzone could reignite some love for the brand
I'm relieved that the new Ghost takes place 3 centuries after the first one, the only thing I didn't want was for the protagonist to be the archer's apprentice from the first game, there was a theory that the next game would be with her, but she did not deserve the title of Ghost after all she killed her own countrymen and had no sense of protection for her homeland. Being a story completely from scratch for this protagonist, I hope she is as good as Jin.
I saw someone saying that this would be PS version of AC having a different protagonist every game and each game keeps the legend of the ghost up and in there own way. Jin brutal and work from the shadows While the next one could be quick and master of camouflage, so each game has the same themes but is unique in their own right.
My first reaction to Ghost of Yutei was disappointment because I really fell in love with Jin Sakai and I thought the ending was hinting at a sequel but now that I think about it, Jin had the perfect story arc and I don't know what they could've done next storywise. Honestly maybe it's better to stay with that ending, rather than Sucker Punch forcing themselves to come up with an sequel for Jin and not delivering. I'm excited to see what they're gonna do with this new character and i hope her story is interesting!
Seems no one has an issue with the female mc. Could be cause unlike ubisoft they aren't rewriting history and have earned trust from the last game while ubisoft has withered they're trust. That and female warrior's arent that rare in Japanese tales. Not sure about actual historic figures.
And that’s the key difference on top of sucker punch having a good track record with making sure that it is historically accurate to an extent at least I’ve seen basically no comments anywhere of people having a problem with it. Her design looks all right from what little we can see so as long as the character is well written and interesting I’m sure people, including myself. Will have no problems with it and will enjoy it
It's true that they do appear in stories, but in reality, it's safe to say that they almost never existed. I've read a few English articles about Japanese history, and I know that they distort the story to make it seem like many women were active in high society, for example by treating people who can't be proven to be men as women. There is a theory that women participated in battles in places where they were not recorded in official documents, but there is not enough information left to make an unbiased judgment on this. Well, Creative freedom remains as long as it does not distort history.
It is really interesting to watch the difference in marketing approach of Ubisoft and Sucker Punch. Similar problem, different outcome. One lack players trust and focus on marketing political type controversy in election peroid(I know they are from France but that's part of market research). Something they still can't recover from after several months. The other have players confindence, try to reasure them they are stilll the same company that did Tsushima to finaly downplay the controversial choice. It is also noteworthy that they used Sony State of Play to their advantage in order to dilute possible social media response. Hubris I guess.
I think Ghost of Yotei, as long as the writers stick to their guns I think it'll be really good. It looks like you're playing as a female ronin which will be interesting and the new setting looks really good too. I don't see an issue with ghost being an anthology series and changing characters and they seem to follow some historical accuracy so I don't see them messing up the story for any sort of politics or whatever. I may give it a try.
This could also be that they’re trying to show the story of ghost from a different, perspective to then surprise us with showing up and the women being the villain I don’t know. Not sure exactly about the timeline between the 2 games, it could just be a spinoff
I'm just imagining in that Veilguard trailer, it would have been cool if you had a choice to convince the people it'd be better to set up some explosives on the tower to let the debris crash down on the dragon (and hopefully take a chunk out of its health before fighting it) instead of just blowing a horn. That's what RPGs should be about, lots of choices and approaches to the situation, or maybe I've been spoiled by Baldur's Gate 3.

Watch how many people use Ghost Of Yotei to justify why you need a PS5 PRO , but if we're watching the same event then I hope that was alpha footage because what I seen was it looks like Concord took Ghost of Yotei's budget. 👀 I play on Playstation and i'm saying this.

Never really played one of those but I might get that one. Dragon Age Veilguard gets a hard pass from me. I'll rather support Space Marine 2 or buy a fourth copy of Stellar Blade instead.
I would give it a D or F probably. I liked ps2 and ps3 era more and was more familiar with those game and I stopped buying Sony stuff. I got Sony stuff for free actually but you know. Seems like lots of remasters and dlc I don't care about. The Ghost game should've been a sequel but whatever.

Strange, if I'm presented with 2 options, Male/Female I always choose female. But if I'm forced to only play as a female character, I initially start off skeptical. Did the developers add it for a nefarious reason, or can I trust they'll give us another well-written female protag to root for. I can't be the only one with this reaction, and likely people who think this too will get lumped in with the rest of the crowd regardless.

Honestly happy that sp decided to expand the universe and didn't do just a direct sequel
The dragon fight looks loads better than what it was in Inquisition, but Fromsoft spoiled us with Elden Ring and their amazing dragon fights and idk if anything can compare at this point lol
Ghost is Yōtei is gonna be so hype!!!
Fun reaction, sir! You and your editors do great work.😊
Ghost of Yotei could be a similar story to Lady Snowblood. You can tell that Sucker Punch loves those classic samurai movies.
imagine remastering Horizon Zero Dawn (The most generic Ubisoft game not made by Ubisoft that still looks COMPLETELY FINE and is playable on current gen anyway) but leaving Bloodborne as-is
its a sort of like "Assassin's Creed" games where each game pretty much has a whole different story and characters but still having that core "Ghost" essence in the games or that this new character is a descendant of Jin and we follow how her life will be because of Jin's actions in the past.
That mark guy pushing the PS5 Pro looks and sounds like a serial killer/someone i wouldn't let my kids in line of sight of...
Remember E3? COD, Assassins Creed, Battlefront, Fallout, Tom Clancy, Far Cry,
considering how Naoe in AC shadow was almost ingnored in most of the discussion, as long as there isn't a different controversy happening, the new female protagonist will be fine.
@@addgame7961 to be honest, reason is Yasuke being the big picture, even Naoe as herself feels another souless character to me, her voice and accent uGgh just try to hire an actual japanese VA who knows english, it would add to immersion and feel more natural, plus her face doesnt even look japanese and she is also made like tht girl boss but while this time her partner in crime is actually only black guy in japan no a typical white man who she can Bitch to
Exactly. Naoe was never the problem.
Shadows should've just been about Naoe but no, they forced some fan fiction Afro Samurai into the game for no reason.

Hey Luke you’re not wrong for liking a game others dislike as a whole. I feel like today people either extremely hate something or extremely like it. There’s no inbetween. So many people are scared to have an opinion that goes against others. I too am excited for this game. It looks amazing.
PlayStation has such a big catalogue to draw from and they’re not tapping into their full potential. Old titles like Infamous and, especially considering the failure of Concord, an FPS like Killzone could reignite some love for the brand
For all we know, there’s a legends mission in Ghost of Yotei where we learn what happened to Jin after the first game
Jin brutal and work from the shadows
While the next one could be quick and master of camouflage, so each game has the same themes but is unique in their own right.
Out of all that was shown, Legacy of Cain 1 & 2 remaster was when I jumped for joy.
Will have no problems with it and will enjoy it
There's an actual female warrior in hostory, though I don't know if the MC in GOY is inspired by her
@@sadmarinersfan8935 yup, hoping it's good. As the last.
Ghost of Tsushima literally did that, you think Jin Sakai was real?
It's true that they do appear in stories, but in reality, it's safe to say that they almost never existed.
I've read a few English articles about Japanese history, and I know that they distort the story to make it seem like many women were active in high society, for example by treating people who can't be proven to be men as women.
There is a theory that women participated in battles in places where they were not recorded in official documents, but there is not enough information left to make an unbiased judgment on this.
Well, Creative freedom remains as long as it does not distort history.
love lego games and legacy of kane. Couldn't be happier with this.
Giving Horizon Zero Dawn a remaster is like giving Moana a live action remake
I think Ghost of Yotei, as long as the writers stick to their guns I think it'll be really good. It looks like you're playing as a female ronin which will be interesting and the new setting looks really good too. I don't see an issue with ghost being an anthology series and changing characters and they seem to follow some historical accuracy so I don't see them messing up the story for any sort of politics or whatever. I may give it a try.
I remember the mid 2010 when a meme about dogs being in the trailer being a bad omen 😂. I'm sure it will be amazing though
Anyone else getting Coraline vibes off The Midnight Walk?!
Surprised there wasn't more fanfare over palworld, but excited to try it
YEA!.. they really showed why you should buy a PS5 PRO lol. Watch how many people use Ghost Of Yotei to justify why you need a PS5 PRO , but if we're watching the same event then I hope that was alpha footage because what I seen was it looks like Concord took Ghost of Yotei's budget. 👀 I play on Playstation and i'm saying this.
The devs behind my favourite game, Ghost of Tsushima, just announced their sequel. Icouldn't be more excited.
15:59 props for actually acknowledging a situation and not belittling people who disagree with those design choices.
Nah I want Jin
Sorry ghosts of yokai iv played to many games with the strong women theme recently and im on a break from it, might get round to it if can ever get rid of the fatigue iv built up this year but at the moment its not looking good an this state of play didnt do much help
I've never needed a break from a gender LOL. I've never been like, I need a break from male protagonists lol. There are two genders, it's always going to be one or the other; what's the big deal
@@victory7763 the strong women theme meens she is made to look strong because they either made the men incompetent or they made the men look weak so the women look strong an need a break from toxic messaging in my games also id be careful saying there only 2 genders 'they' will come come for you 😂
@@Kingcronixbong But how can you say the men are incompetent if we haven't even played the game? You seem to have made up your mind ultimately, regardless of whatever is actually in the product
@@victory7763 I clearly said I might get round to it but at this point I'm expecting it to have been changed massively to fit the more recent playstation narrative, just look what they did to dragon age can you blame me for being cautious ?
@@Kingcronixbong Sony didn't make Dragon Age. Also, what happened to Dragon Age? I'm confused
I think this perfectly shows the state
What story will you have with Sakai Jin? I think His story is about Japanese fight against Mongols and the question of dishonor both have conclude. I'm glad Sucker Punch isn't milking his story after it ends. I do prefer an anthology.
seeing those little helldiver astro bots makes me want an Astro bot themed skin in helldivers 2 😂
New area, new character with a great team behind making it lets go, it’s set later so it’ll be interesting
Damn... for a moment I thought it was donnie yen in ghost of yotei
I can’t believe Luke has never heard of hell is us. I discovered it’s teaser trailer a little after I had a Bloodborne phase, and Hell is Us looks like it’ll hit many boxes, let alone the underwhelmed reaction I’m surprised Luke seemed unfamiliar. Looks promising, though he compared it with death stranding and it’s fair to go into a game like that with mixed feelings, my belief is that the devs for Hell is Us really wanted to emphasize combat, I hope.
Waited like 2 years to see another trailer
It looked bad to me but i hope its good for you blood borne fans
@@theoutsiderjess1869 I think they just made an odd trailer
It gave me Remnant 2 vibes but with what looks like a souls-style melee. Definitely interested! Not enough to make me want to get a PS5, seeing that it's also on Steam though.
Ghost 2 will prove that most people don’t care about whether MC is male or female, they just want to play a good game.
Unfortunately, I've seen many people complaining about it being a female MC. We'll see about when the game is released, it could be a Prey (2022) situation.
I was hoping that it was going to be Jin dealing with the fallout and escaping the shogun’s forces etc. I think there’s a good story in there somewhere
You should check out the Xbox Tokyo Game Showcase, be interesting to hear your opinions. It's live right now & you know Xbox doesn't mess around with game showcases, short introduction & then just game trailer after game trailer after game trailer
Hell is Us carried this for me. Death stranding and a returnal vibe
For Hell is Us i see way more Control influence, since even the BBs were influenced by the Hiss. Cmon.
Who was gonna tell me Monster Hunter had adorable warrior cats?!!!!
no concord 2 dissapointing :(
Ghost of yotei looks fine, now lets hope they don't fuck it up somehow.
Its like every big or sometimes not so big game has to have drama surrounding it nowadays
I’m getting used to not spending money 😂
Just so you guys know Aspyr has a mixed history with their remasters which are generally really good except when they try to remaster anything with multiplayer in it such as battlefront 1 and 2.
The main character wearing yellow kinda reminds me of KillBill so maybe the story will be something similar like that
For a moment I thought it was a game based on Blue Eyed Samurai. Then I saw the black eyes.
When the guy asked about the new ghost being a "link" to ghost 2... He meant does story lead into ghost 2
EA forcing bioware to use that engine was the biggest L they could've made
@@frenchspice8189 I mean, it looks better than inquisition, which looked like shit. Hey, at least hair can be longer than shoulder length now. And it even moves. Welcome to next Gen I guess
42:30 I'm fine with the gap in quality between the PS4 and PS5 if the PS5 delivers a minimum of 60 fps.
@@0x8badbeef couldn’t agree more
The music alone for Midnight Walk had me wishlist.
Ghost of Yotei looks good but the optics of the trailer comes off as trepidatious. Which in my opinion is noteworthy they saved that face reveal for the ending which was deliberate.
Frankly i had a hunch they'd use a new protag and this game is giving "blue eyed samurai" vibes. Sucker punch sees trends in the industry so i assume they're attempting to subvert expectations and here's hoping it pans out.
I need to finish Ghost of Tsushima, I feel more compelled than ever to play it on PS5
It is smart for Sony to release their best first party stuff at the back end of PS5 lifecycle. That will carry over to the PS6 sales.
I'm not sure sony planned that,it's just that all those failed live services probably set them back a bit. But the ps4 had some of its best games in the second half so maybe it will pick up from next year onwards.
State of Play.... I give it a C. Didn't expect Ghost of Yōtei. Not a huge fan of the first game but it does look good.
And I'm definately on board with Monster Hunter Wilds.
Astro Bot I've bought already but the DLC looks lovely - especially with the Stellar Blade homage.
Just sucks that Shift Up and Sony are being sued over the name now. (Same with Palworld.)
Also can't wait to test the new photo mode and Nier Automata dlc.
I even subscribed to Spotify today to get the full Stellar Blade soundtrack immediately.
(At least till there's a full CD release - if at all.)
Someone will also be very happy over the Soulreaver remaster (Is it Skill Up?)
Lego Horizon looks nice too.
Dragon ages mechanics and gameplay looks smooth but man I KNOW they didn't CHOOSE to have that art style. It's a limitation of the software
certainly not a limitation of the frost bite engine.
Oh wow the Lunar...that brings back memories of Working Designs...
I thought the Alan Wake DLC was a Control sequel which I mean. Technically it is. Lol but damn it I'm sad
What the hell happened with capcom’s pragmata, that game definitely look Next gen, really interested in it
Development hell it's apparently been reworked numerous times. Seems like it lacking a clear vision of what it's wanting to be
Aloy genuinely looks more relatable, cool, fun, and charismatic as a Lego figure than any other time that she’s appeared as a normal human in the other games.
L
Yeah women are just so annoying when they have their own personalities and are agreeable to a fault. Stay in your lane and just smile.
what an incel take is that. lol
I will never forgive Horizon Zero Dawn for stealing the twist of an obscure DS game no one remembers.
Solatorobo if you were curious.
Weird my comment gets deleted but this one stays up, maybe the sarcasm was too thick for youtube/mods to notice.
I honestly thought that Ghost of Tsushima was good, but I thought it was honestly kind of lame they were doing a sequel, this I am pretty excited for though, now it's like if Ubisoft was good at making assassin's creed games
what's up with devs with their hoodies? odd choice of attire imo.
State of play 2024 be like:
Hell is Us
Ghost of Yotei
LEGO Horizon
HOrizon I Zero Dawn Remastered
The last of us: Joel's HOrizon
Uncharted: Among the HOrizon
Me (who was still playing the ps2 daily in 2013): "Why the hell are they releasing games on the ps4 still? Let it die"
