Your comments made me buy from Amazon rather than B&Q. Much more buyer protection. Thanks
No problem hope it worked out ok :)
Never knew how useful a compressor was until I got one. Very enjoyable video and would recommend anyone to get one 👍
Thanks for the comment totally agree it's been so useful already!
I had looked at the same compressor, noticed a lot of returns due to damage before sending, my solution was to go through a local engineering outlet who were able to supply the same model, surprise surprise the air filter was damaged in exactly the same way, they kindly got me a replacement air filter, UNDAMAGED 😊
Great idea...and I had a lot of issues with damage....
I have the same compressor, and I love it. Also have a used 24L compressor, for more powerful tools. Got that one for free, just put a new switch on it and it works great. Got my Hyundai from Amazon for £119.00
Hi Jim...Yeah Amazon was my preference...I won't get anything from B&Q again
Well done. Good review
Thank you!
Thanks for this, I'm thinking of buying one so very useful information. It wont be from B&Q though!!
Don't blame you!
The part hanging off now is a capacitor for the electrics not the filter.
Hi Jim. Yeah I worked that out....but left it in the video to show what a wally I can be!
Great video. Sorry to hear about your troubles with B&Q. I think i'll look at getting a compressor after watching this......just not from B&Q 🤣
Thanks Matt and you'll be surprised how much you'll use it trust me.
For the decibels, having purchased a compressor myself recently I found out that the dB measurement they advertise is usually measured from a distance of 7 metres. No idea why.
I guess most people put a compressor in the corner of shop behind some kind of shield with a 15mt airhose attached to it. I never work right next to my aircompressor cause they're to noisy.
I bought a Stanley compressor from Screwfix and came with a hose, an air gun & other accessories. I think that was less than £100. Good bit of kit. I use mine for the nail gun & dust blowing.
Thanks Andrew...that's good to know and that sounds a great deal!
Hiya. I'm new to the channel and enjoying the videos. I'm thinking of buying a compressor, but my question is...what is that pipe for on the ceiling? It's driving me nuts trying to work it out! 😂 👍
Hi and thanks for subscribing...it's for dust collection that I don't use now...
I have a silverline Brad nailer just like yours and you have to set compresser no higher than 7 1/2 bar which is fine
Thanks John...!
Please when using high-pressure compressed air with a blow gun don't keep putting your hand in front of it. The problem is it can penetrate the skin and enter the bloodstream. This, in turn, can cause blood vessels to become blocked by air bubbles, triggering stroke-like symptoms. If left untreated, an air embolism can lead to coma, paralysis and death. I realise your new to compressor but please take care👍
Thanks Gary...a good tip and I will make sure I don't do that in future
I'm looking at this air compressor,,but not sure now, how's it going now after a few month's of use ,.the fittings are they 1/4 in,? Cheers
It's going fab John I love it!
I'm thinking of investing in a compressor when I get my shed sorted, also want one to be able to fill my PCP air rifles as well so thanks for the review it's been very informative, oh and I don't think I'll bother going to B&Q for it 😢. Keep up the great videos. All the best Mark
I don't blame you and I am so glad i got one I have used it loads
@@thegarageworkshop4791 what's the maximum working pressure of the Hyundai?
@@markpullen61 it's apparently 120psi...that's what the specification is.
PCP air rifles run at about 10X the pressure (200-250bar or 4000psi) so it won't work
@@MrDead1975 I will have to look at getting two then bummer
Wow, that was a long one. To rub salt in to wound, I bought one direct from Hyundai and was perfect but still a good video
Regards Bill
Yeah sorry Bill it was a long video....and I am pleased to hear that!
Think u need stay clear of b&q from now on. A bought Hyundai petrol chainsaw about 5 years ago direct from Hyundai and its been amazing. Think would of been worth going to Hyundai direct. Looks like decent compressor though. Thought youd of went for parkside one. 🏴👍 ps think id of stopped trying after sending back second one.
Yeah as a general rule I do...it was only because I had the vouchers I used them...a lesson learnt!
Do you have an evolution mitre saw?
Yeah I do, I love it!
@@thegarageworkshop4791 is it single bevel or double? I'm looking for one but I don't want to pay silly money, and I saw the evolution on sale at my local screwfix and thought I'd look for some reviews and recommendations before I bought it
Having been self employed since 1987, I avoid both B&Q and Wickes like the plague. The slow reply to any question, banged about and broken orders and general bad attitude of the companies (not the employees who give the best they can) and their inability to give suppliers a telling off when needed is too much to bear. Customers have asked me to collect orders (that are late already) and end up waiting at (so called ) customer services to find order is incomplete and parts damaged by fork lift driver etc.etc. etc. You are much better off using other suppliers.Your experience does not surprise me. Bob (Weston super Mare)
Agreed Bob, thanks for the feedback
Opens compressor upside down, compressor comes crashing down on its side. I don’t believe it it’s damaged again. 😂
If only that was the issue :)
I've been toying with the idea of getting a small compressor, having seen this video, that one would suit me just fine, but I won't get it from B&Q.
That lump on the side that was loose on your third one looks like a capacitor for the motor, shame it was dented but it looks to work fine.
You have my sympathy for all the bad luck, I could see the disappointment in your eyes, but it all worked out ok in the end i hope. There is very little customer service left these days especially from box shifters.
Thanks Steve having investigated more I think it's a transformer of some sort that allows the compressor to be used on different electricity systems.
10 Minute Tool Review Hyundai Compressor, No a 2 week Review. Sorry to hear about your troubles
Yeah Bob...sorry it was a long one!
You can buy from the manufacturer at same price.
Thanks Kevin...prices have changed bit since the video was made
Hi
Sorry about your problem
B&Q have always been a crap store especially on power tools
They are horrendously expensive compared to on line stores
My local B&Q is at ashton moss Manchester
All the very best
John.s
Manchester
Hi John..I know it well I have been there many times..mine is Trafford Park
I've had problems with B&Q in the past, but they seem to have an almost complete monopoly on tools at that sort of price. Their customer service can be hit and miss.
I agree Mark...and it was so miss on this occasion!
What the ..? You just broke that off by opening it upside down. When it fell over that’s where it got damaged! That was all you!
Thanks Nady...not quite...the box was damaged too
Moral of the story - Don't buy from B&Q. They obviously don't handle their stock with the cared it deserves.
Totally agree!
Doesn’t seem like a very good advertisement for this compressor, forget B&Q issues , quality control on this seems non existent, don’t think I’ll bother with it , after all , this is just the bits we can see , goodness knows what it’s like inside the thing 😮
That's a fair point...Now I have had it a while I can only say how good it's been but I don't have a huge frame of reference so there may be equivalents that are much better at the same price point.
38 minutes to do a "10 minute tool review"
Scrolled through most of this video to get to the key interesting parts about the product itself.
Had a lot to say this time Stuart...i'll change the title :)
I stopped watching after 15 mins as all you do is moan about b&q.
Fair enough...but I think I had a good case to here :)
