This is great Jon . Oddly enough when wearing my other hat , I did an out of the box and assembly guide for this very unit this week . I will share your findings with the factory to address the short power lead and axle issues and see what we can do about protecting the manual .
i have same but no build up pressure, when on, air escape under the black wheel (under the two bigger one (black box with red led) ) , i think is security or so...Nothing to find on internet what how to fix or what is problem :( (7 months old)
Hi Jon , I have a piston compressor, it’s about 5 times as big as that one and very noisy , only saving grace is it’s in a second workshop so don’t hear it to much, I have run 8mm plastic around my workshop with 3 air gun outlets and mist spray on mill and lathe, all purchased from Amazon probably cost me £100 all in, cheers 👍👴🏻
I would have liked to have a typical diagram detailing where everything is. If you are a beginner you don't quite know what everything is. They said for you to empty the maintank of water at the end of the day but without the diagram you don't know where to go to do it. Also they need to detail how to let the air out of the tank before you drain the tank of moisture. I have the 27550 and that is huge. I was struggling a bit to put the wheels and feet on without scratching the living room floor. The box was quite big and well packed. I wish the power lead was at the other end as I don't want the cabling to rest against the hot cylinders so I have to route the power cable away from the cylinders. I got mine to do airbrushing but to occasionally blow stuff out of machined work, spray large RC models and to pump up my tyres. I do think that you'll appreciate the larger tank and the quieter operation when it is actually topping up the tank. Mine is quiet too.
I think you will like that unit. I have the same version, but made by California air. I have it up at my barn to air up tires mainly. It does run really quiet.
Bought the 50l version over 12 months ago use it most days after work & so far not a problem, set on low pressure for blowing swarf off the tank will last all day on a couple of charges. Still am impressed with how quiet it is.
Great honest assessment Jon thanks for sharing with us , do you plan to plumb it in with permanent pipework to your machines or just drag it out when needed, i was just wondering how you would gauge the pipework diameter and pipe material choice given the output of the compressor
Gday Jon, nice addition to the shop, I’ve been thinking of upgrading my compressor to a standard up type unit and putting it outside the workshop, I use quite a lot of air and I’m sick of hearing it flogging away, thanks for sharing, cheers
Great review John, I’m sure it will be of great value to anyone looking to buy a small home shop compressor. I was fortunate enough to buy a well loved second hand Bambi 150/700 a number of years back and it’s been great, as I don’t have any room to put a compressor outside I needed a silent one.
Well done Jon. I think the wobble in the axles is designed for the high speed shop equipment shuttle team. Having infinitely variable camber will help keep the tires planted during high speed cornering. LOL.
Very nice review Jon. It is much quieter than the one I have. I wanted to put mine in the shed but far too tortuous to run hoses and cables. So it's under the 2nd bench with remote switch on the wall. I couldn't talk over mine, so I'm impressed with how quiet that is.

Much quieter than my cheap & cheerful little one , all i need is another year out of it before a massive upgrade ! 👍

Ideal for the small shop Jon, beats jumping out of your skin when the noisey ones kick in. Tony
