McIntyre Rig Survival Neck Knife

- I recently partnered with 51Bravo Knives to create my own design for the "McIntyre Rig" neck knife survival kit. I've carried the original based on a Livesay NRGS for nearly 20 years and it was time for an upgrade. This knife is designed from the start to be a proper host for a survival kit that is nearly impossible to lose in the wilderness.

I have one, loaded it similarly, and I rarely go without it. Knife is superb.
Obaaa Dave MC está de volta...
Fiquei feliz...
Que bom que voltou Mac. Abraços! ;-)
I have had this knife in my truck since you came out with this. Phenomenal knife! I wish you were still making videos.
That is exactly how Ethan introduced it to me, "The McIntyre Rig"! He still extols it's virtues as the perfect camp accessory.
It really is an awesome camping setup. Ive slept with mine on too and it was fine. Genius idea
@@bushcraftingmuslim I tie mine to my hammock ridgeline when I sleep. The light comes in handy hanging there.
@@Colhane that's a great idea. Little area lantern 👍
I made and use my own McIntyre Rig. Minus the water bags, I couldn't find something good enough. I did buy some ferro rod toggles. I use them as zipper pulls & on my chin straps of my hats. Two is one. Thx Colhane!!! I mod my machetes based off ur videos as well.
Que bom que você voltou. Fez muita falta sua ausência.
I remember when Ethan proudly showed me his McIntyre rig!! So cool! Love the thoughtful way this kit is set up. Definitely am intrigued by that signal mirror. Knife is cool too. I love that size. I don't carry neck rigs but I do like to keep similar things in my edc. Nice to see a video from you again! :)
welcome back Mac, saudades dos seus vídeos...
51 Bravo rocks. Great job Shawn.
Awesome video. Great idea to include so many items in a simple rig. Thank you. Durban, South Africa
Nice little kit. Really good idea. Thanks for the video.
Hello Dave, very nice to see you again make videos soon and sharing new skills. We need that Sr! Cheers... I hope to see you on live...
Looks like a winner Mac!...i really like the solid look of that knife...well thought out kit amigo!...woods
Very very cool I have been watching all I could on your neck knife kit. Can’t wait to check it out
Muito bom ver o vc novamente...
Ótimo video Mac, você é uma inspiração...
That looks like a great tool! Been carrying one built around a Carter neck knife ever since your original video came out and it has come in handy several times. The knife and light all the time.
Very nice looking knife! I like the blade design on it. The covering is a unique addition to the sheath. That signal mirror is really compact and I do like how thin it is.
Welcome back! Next your signature moded machete.
Gostei da faca, muito bonita e prática!
O kit também é completo e bem compacto, abraço de Portugal.
Excelente faca, saudades dos seus vídeos, se puder gravar um em português pra gente, seria muito bom, orei por você essa semana!!!!
Awesome knife design!
I remember watching your original neck knife kit! Inspired me to mimic it with an Izula. Great to see the latest manifestation!
I just watched Ethan Becker telling about his “McIntyre Rig” in a video two days ago.
I’ve been carrying a BK-11 around my neck for maybe ten years. I saw your first video on your neck knife about three years ago, and I had to add the light to mine. It’s set up a little differently than yours, but now it has a light.
Hi!!! From South Spain!!!
I don’t speak very much english, excuse me...
I like your videos... excelent neck survival kit, and the neck knife is pretty... 😍
See you... ✌️
Pretty tough tool! Nice stuff! Well, I would keep my compass away from steel if possible. Looking forward to watching your new videos (please keep 'em coming!).
Abraços do Brasil!
That's my knife making kid!
very good man 👏👏 congratulations
Very glad to seeing you posting again. Will you and the knife be at BladeShow in Atlanta?
That is the plan
Apesar de não falar o inglês consegui entender algumas informações!
Bom vídeo senhor Mac.
That's a sweet rig. I also stole your idea for a mora I was carrying for social work while travelling to North Africa. I could have been in a lot of trouble, but I think the ignorant apologetic westerner may have gotten away with it.
I carried it inside the waist band near the appendix and had a mini Bic, light, fish hooks and line, sewing kit inside. Picked a bright coloured mora companion as well. A completely legit survival kit and a defensive blade hiding in plain sight. Might be a different approach for marketing for you ;)
Thanks for the information you put out there.
PS that blade design looks awesome. And just enough handle while still thin. Love that you went with 1095 too. You guys knocked this out of the park. Once the funds come in and I get that new knife itch it'll be hard to look away!
Parabéns...
That is awesome !! Always loved the concept Dave I use a Mora Companion with A Kydex sheath with some kit items but always am weary because it's not full tang ....this solves that ...love to get one when I can Atb.....Spook
Linda faca!!! Grande abraço 👍👍👍
Very interesting!! I ve watched every video of yours I can find. Started to create my own kneck rig. Highly inspired by yours. Thank you for this material. Very beneficial. I ve been of the outdoors extensively for 30 years plus. I still find myself teachable from guys like you.
I would like to ask, is there an extended purpose for the ricasso area of this knife? It stands out to me seeming larger than "just there". Wondering g if there is a purpose behind it?
Looks great. Haven’t found it for sale??? Please advise
Hi Dave :)
Can you give me an idea where to look for that signal mirror?
About 10-12 years ago, you and I talked several times on BladeForums. At the time you and I were some of the few who liked large knife/machete for the southern woods. I'm from Texas.
Personally I would bin the ferro rod in favour of a Spark-Lite & Tinder-Quicks. The reasoning being that whatever put me in that situation might result being able to use only one hand.
That is always an option and I thought about that. You can pack the kit any way you want but it is a challenge to keep it compact. There are better options than the Tinder Quick. I think they are not a robust enough flame. I'm working on some tinder that fires up hotter. Stay tuned.
How can I get the list of components in the kit?
Хороший набор! 👍
Interesting
Crap, why did you guys do this to me. I can't be buying this, but I can't resist it..
Great video Dave. Newt Livesay knives Rock! Do not buy this McIntyre Rig. I did and extremely disappointed!!
Apesar de não falar o g
I like the knife, as for he rest ...Eeeehhh..
